A lot has changed over the last month or so, and there is a lot more to come. We want you to be part of the change by suggesting your ideas as to what we should be working on.

Have Your Say

We have now put in place a new feedback widget, it's (currently) a bright red feedback button on the left of every page. Click that and you can choose to vote on the ideas suggested by other people or suggest your own idea for others to vote on.

There are some interesting ideas on there already so take a look, including a suggestion that the shoutbox is distracting, we need new flyers and you would like to be reminded when your insurance is nearly due. Add your votes and comments to the ideas and we will be picking the best ones and acting on them!

Our aim over the next year is to get the number of active members regularly using the forum up to 1000, which is roughly a 50% increase on our current figure (around 650). If you have an idea that will help us acheive our goal let us know.

This is just a trial at the moment to suggest ideas for making the club a better place, but if it works out we will keep it as a permanent feature.

Club-306 October Updates

We have quite a lot of things going on in October, so please be aware of the following important items:

2010 Club-306 Christmas Meal
Time has come again to book up for the thrid annual Club-306 Christmas meal. The location this year is the Toby Carvery in Dudley and the date is Saturday 5th December. Stu is organising the event and needs deposits of �5 per person now to secure your place. The Christmas meal is always a great evening out and catching up with old friends and meeting new people is all part of the fun, so please come along and join in.

October Meet in Hampshire
Rich is back in the UK and has organised a meet in the New Forest ares for 18th October 2009. The start point is in Lyndhurst and full details of the meet are on the events board at http://www.club-306.com/forum/topic/15647-a-meet-for-october/

2010 Calendar Competition
To be in with a chance enter your best photos on the Club-306 Calendar Competition thread in the forum before 17th October 2009. Shortlisting and final voting will be completed and the winners will be notified the week after.

Castle Combe has gone

Sadly Ladies and Gents the AJEC Castle Combe Summer Performance Action Day has been and gone. It was an early start from Club-306 HQ but everyone, barring Lauren, made it to the Southwest Convoy Meet. Other members set off earlier than the 5:45am we did, so a lot of respect is due for them!

We reached Morrisons in Chippenham to find that Mr. AA wasn't there! Sam had arrived with his car in one piece! And would you Adam and Eve it, we made it to Combe itself without a single issue! Club-306 rolled through the competitors entrance and parked up in the same position as we had in April.

and Then...

Sveny's Snack Shack made a return! Club-306 stocked the shack with Bacon, Sausages and general snacks for all our members at Combe. Simon (Sveny himself!) very kindly provided the gas, cooking facilities and his hospitality. Everyone knows that it is not cheap to eat at Car Shows, well for all those that didn't come to Combe or those that didn't visit the Shack, you missed out on huge savings and a great couple of hours. The only money I spent on the day was to hire a helmet for Stacey to accompany me on track!

You can just about make out the shack behind Lauren's gleaming HDi!

One of the main highlights of the show was the Track Time as usual. Firstly, on the subject of track time, a round of applause is due for for Sam, he actually made it around the track and didn't cause any accidents! So Well Done that man! Mike, Tim and myself also joined Sam on track for some amazing laps around a nice dry Castle Combe track covered in blistering sunshine!

In the picture below you can just see the front end of a Caterham chasing behind Tim, the poor guy had to keep wiping his visor as it was covered in black deposits from Tim's exhaust. The Uber Derv was certainly a force to be reckoned with on track!

Big Thanks on behalf of all the members that attended Combe go to:

John Blackmore, the big boss man of Club-306, delved his hands into his (very very deep) pockets and spent a pretty penny on sustenance for everyone that attended the show. Not many people can say they get those sort of benefits from other forums!
Sveny, once again provided the Shack for the benefit of other people! You're a credit to the club Mr Svendsen, extreme thanks!
Tim, the organisation of Castle Combe was once again solely organised by Tim! I don't know how he pulls it off but we were without incident again this time around and everyone had an amazing time. Well Done Buddy! Although, even after all your hard work our members still insist on bullying you...

Be sure not to miss Club-306 at the next Castle Combe event. For another year, for Club-306 at least, Castle combe is over!

Xmas Meet 2009 in Dudley
We may sit back and say that the fat bearded man is still a long way away from visiting but it's slowly encroaching on us. The Xmas meet last year was one of 'those' meets that you remember, this year should be no different! Keep an eye out for a thread for the Xmas Meet 2009 from a member of the events team.

Club-306 Calendar 2010
We've put together a competition thread to allow members to submit pictures that will be considered for a calendar that we're putting together. Once all pictures have been submitted the members will decide on which pictures get used in the calendar and then we'll have it produced and made available to members at the most competitive price we can find. Please see the General Info thread before posting your pictures in the Submissions Thread

The Events Team
We have a space on our events team for an eager and enthusiastic Club-306 member. Starting January 2010 we're going to start making the events boards some of the most important on the forum. We need someone who is proactive and looking to help improve our events calendar.

New Moderator - Lauren_HDI
She may not know how to set an alarm before Combe but has been welcomed onto the moderating team with open arms. Lauren hasn't spent a great deal of time as a member of Club-306 but has proved that she's an active member of the forum by joining us at Castle Combe twice and then travelling to French Car Show to meet up with everyone. She's become a moderator to provide some balance to the team, and so that Sarah isn't the only female moderator. Not that she needs it but strength in numbers is always nice! Please be patient while we provide Lauren with help and instruction to moderate the boards, I'm sure she'll soon be up-to-speed and moderating the forum with ease.

Castle Combe Summer Performance Car Action Day

Club-306 will once again be at Castle Combe this coming Saturday. Hopefully you'll remember that our past couple of visits to Castle Combe have provided the likes of Performance French Cars Magazine with an editorial for the club.

While we cannot bank on being seen in the magazine again for the show, we can guarantee the club-306 hospitality that we've all enjoyed at Combe. Members old and new are invited to join us at Morrisons in Chippenham at no later than 7:30 am, Tim will have tickets to hand out and then around 7:45 am we'll be heading off on a little convoy towards Combe itself. Tim spent last weekend in the area honing his skills for this coming weekend please all ask him how he did, then ask his better half Sam how she did...

The details you need:
Meet: Morrisons in Chippenham before 7:30 am. Postcode - SN14 6UZ
Depart: 7:45 am to Castle Combe. Postcode - SN14 7EY

While they state 4500rpm for the noise test at previous events it has been reported that other people have been tested lower once the inspectors had looked at their rev counter. Be sure to make it known if 4500rpm approaches the top end of your rev range.

castle combe a week and a bit!!

hello to all club-306 members well with this event comming up in just over a week i thought i better start hounding people to come along so far we have 20 cars comming (lol assuming everyone turns up). i'd like to say a huge thank you for everyone who has said they will come in advance as its the people there that make the day what it is.

club-306 will be attending the Summer Action Day held by Castle Combe on Saturday 5th September. It's always a good show for the seasoned members to meet up with some of the newbies, we usually have a pretty decent turn out. We would love to see some new faces at the show as well as the old ones.

We'll be meeting at Morrisons in Chippenham (Postcode SN14 6UZ for your Sat Navs) and would appreciate if you are there before 7.30am as i'll be handing out the 12 free tickets, 22 stand passes and track time for those that have already purchased it. We will need to be at Castle Combe for 8am so we'll be leaving Morrisons at roughly 7.45am and it'll be busy! Postcode for Castle Combe is SN14 7EY

There are 2 spaces left for 2 car's on our stand and it would be nice to fill them.It will be roughly �10 per person. Check out the thread and feel free to ask any questions or send me a pm and i'll get back to you asap.
