Hello all Club-306 members

As all clubs we attend shows and events and after the sucsess of the last 2 shows Club-306 will be attending:

Modified Mania

and

Castle Combe Summer Action Day

The first coming up is Modified Mania which is on the 26th of July at Smeathorpe Raceway, Devon EX14 9RF. This is a brilliant little show were we have a club stand. Have a look through the website above then put your name down in this thread.

Second we have the Castle Combe summer performance action day on the 5th of september which is at the Castle combe race track in Chippenham SN14 7EY. The action days held at Castle Combe is a club favorate and im hoping to get more new members involved and the good old regulars that turn out wind rain and snow!!! As always this is about the track action and the cars. do not worry about the state of the car standard to highley modified can come along. so click here and get your name down.

French Car Show 2009 - You've missed it...

Well ladies and gentlemen, if you weren't there with us quite frankly it didn't count!

Club-306 was there in style this year! The majority of Club-306ers at FCS went for the long haul, rolling into the Tesco Superstore Car Park in Oakham on the Saturday afternoon before driving to Winghall Campsite for a night of alcohol, bbq and camping!

Waking up with a soar head on Sunday morning in the middle of nowhere was an experience to say the least! We convoyed to Rockingham (tried to anyhow!) Half went the ~~wrong~~ long way while the rest of us hit the A6003 and got in the queue for entry to this years FCS! Low and behold as we approached the last 500 yards until the turn off our fellow club-306ers who went the wrong way pulled out of a turning ahead of us and joined the queue, which we had been sat in for 15 minutes!!!

Our stand was very accomadating this year, plenty of cars and then Stey's awesomely huge Gazebo!

Stey's Gazebo also hosted his huge BBQ! - Many Thanks Mr Smith!
If you were worried about the price of going to a show for the day out, you needn't have bothered...Mr Smith and Head Chef Mac saved the Club-306ers aLOT of money! �5 all in for the weekend and you didn't have to worry about food...you couldn't get better than that ANYWHERE!

Last but by no means least, big thanks are due for some very important members for their involvement in this years' show! Stey: Your gazebo and bbq certainly made this weekend what it was. The social aspect of this show should definitely be creditted to you! Many thanks. Stu: Our Camp leader... not that way! I don't think you could have found a better campsite to host us! and finally Mac: The head chef, nobody left with dodgy stomachs, everyone left fat and full! Finally: The Club-306ers in attendance!

Before I stop boring you with my babble I would just like to let you all know that Martin! actually exists! We have proof...

French Car Show 2009 - Been and Gone!

Well it�s happening this weekend. French Car Show 2009 officially opens on Sunday morning at 7.30am for us to set up our stands! I thought I would get a news post together and provide all the information in one place. If you've signed up to the news post updates (thank you!) and are not coming to FCS with Club-306 (shame on you!) you probably won't be interested in the details below, however, you're going to miss out on what promises to be a very good couple of days!

Saturday Camping details
We're meeting at Tesco (see the Map) for 1.30pm, we'll hand money over to Stu for the camping and also to a select few that are going to go shopping to get our evening food/drink/whatever. Other mini-meets and convoys should aim to be at Tesco for 1.30pm.

We are convoying to Winghall Estate and setting up for the evening. Pug306.netters will be joining us for the festivities and hopefully we'll get on like the proverbial house on fire! Let's play nice please ladies and gentlemen. The �netters� have been pre-warned about behaviour in terms of our surroundings; this applies to our club also. Please respect the wishes of Winghall Estate and the other campers or you will be asked to leave and we will consider your inclusion in future events.

Sunday - French Car Show!
The gates open at 7.30am, I propose that we are at least waiting in line to get in at this time. As we are on a stand with the netters and another club perhaps we can organise in the evening to meet up and convoy with them.

The F1 Time Trial Challenge takes place at some point on the day, John is the main point of contact so if you�re name is down to take part expect to be called up to do this at some point.

We'll have a Show and Shine Award, organised and judged solely by Tim, it's not about how pristine your car is but about the effort you've put into it. Dents, Stone chips et al will be ignored (most of them probably aren't your fault!). Anyone has a chance to win this year and there will be a couple of small prizes as well as a trophy.

Otherwise the day is yours to experience French Car Show 2009!

Sunday Evening
There have been some discussions about what we're doing for food and where we're going, this will probably all get decided on the Saturday evening after a few too many to drink. Either way I think it's safe to assume that we'll not be BBQ-ing again and will probably find somewhere in the evening.

I suggest that if this is your first show and/or you've not met anyone that is attending that you pass on some form of contact number to one of the Admin team (Myself, John and Tim will be attending) that way we can make sure we don't leave you behind anywhere. Please pm me before Saturday morning should you wish to leave your number with Admin.

Obligatory Checklist � It had to be done!
Camping:
Tent (obviously!)
Sleeping Bag
Toilet Roll!!! <<< Essential In My Opinion�
Toiletries
Clothes or not, depending on your preference
Alcohol
�6.50 per pitch per night - passed to Stu prior to entry
�monies for BBQ or your own food

For the Show:
Your tickets, stand pass and window stickers!!! Tickets for Passengers and Cars are available on the day from 7.30am at the entrance.
A good mood
Club-306 spec sheet, filled in and printed off. It doesn't have to be serious and you don't have to fill one out.
Camera - we'd like to get as many pictures as possible this year, we've been able to get into a couple of magazines recently regarding our meets/events, so we could be using one of your pictures for it (with your permission obviously!).

I've probably missed something out but I'm sure we can iron the creases out.

Last chance to book for French Car Show 2009!

French Car Show 2009 advanced ticket sales with club passes close on Sunday 7th June.

Club-306 members who book in advance and display on the day will receive a special Black Diamond South-West sample pack worth �10. We have teamed up with Black Diamond South-West to put together these extra special packs that contain a number of sample products and applicators, including a top-quality valeters microfibre polishing cloth.

Also on hand the day before and on the Sunday will be Tim, who will be able to give out advice on how to use the Black Diamond products to get the best from them. We will also be bringing with us a small number of Black Diamond South-West cleaning kit buckets, available to buy at a special FCS Show price.

Don't forget Club-306 will be camping the night before, see the French Car Show forum for more information (note we are not camping at Wicksteed Park this year).

Countdown to French Car Show - 2 weeks away!

Well, well, well...it's time for another newspost! I know you've all been eagerly waiting (pm's and emails in the thousands! - not bad considering only 300 or so people read the last one on the forum... ).

Anyhow, on to business!

Since the last news post a number of things have been added to the schedule for FCS! If you've already booked check out the French Car Show website to see what's been added, if you've not booked yet A. What are you playing at? B. Check out the dedicated FCS forum and the FCS website to see what you're going to miss out on if you don't sign up. Mark Dow has kindly provided us with the Official timetable and Map and has asked us to fire any questions we have about the event to him personally, see here.

Major Warning!
The Ticket Deadline for FCS is quickly approaching. You have until the end of the month to get booked up (Just so you know, We are in May! FCS is on 14th June). 2 Weeks until the Deadline...you know what to do! Those of you that have already ordered your tickets should see them arriving this week.

As I said in the previous newspost we're camping it up again but have changed campsites, if you're looking to join us check out Stu's Camping Thread and get your name down, also be sure not to order your tickets from the FCS Shop as we're not staying at that campsite.

A number of members are organising convoys on the way to our Club-306 Campsite convoy, this should make the driving a little less boring for those of you that have to drive long distances, check out the Club-306 FCS Map for details and to see if any of these convoys are close to you. If not why not suggest a convoy meet on that thread?

And last but by no means least:

Club-306 has teamed up with Black Diamond South West to provide all members with cars on the Club-306 stand a FREE Car Show Cleaning Kit. Details of this can be found in the main French Car Show thread.
