Hey readers, I just wanted to give everyone the heads up.

I’ve got a bit of a medical issue that has popped up, so I’ll be on medical leave until further notice. It couldn’t really come at a worse time with all the things I’ve got going on at the moment, but these things happen, and sadly there isn’t much I can do about it.

Hopefully I’ll be back and writing soon, but depending on how things go with some tests the next few days, I might be out of commission for several months.

Don’t worry, it’s nothing life-threatening, but serious enough that I’ve got to put several things in my life on hold (like this) for the time being.

MHL Season 12 Draft Recap

Well, the big draft for season 12 of the Moose Hockey League is done. Even though I wasn’t eligible for this draft, being a rookie in the league, I still wanted to see how things went down. Since this draft has a major impact on the MAHL draft. With the new rule in place that did away with MHL and MAHL team-affiliations.

Instead there were three extra rounds at the end of the draft, where team captains could select players they would have the rights to call up from the MAHL should they need them to fill a roster spot for a player who can’t make a game. As I said, even though I wasn’t really involved in this draft, it was still very interesting, and very entertaining, as I was not disappointed.

Hey everyone, sorry I haven’t been posting much lately. I have been very busy preparing myself for the upcoming MAHL draft in the Moose Hockey League. So there has been a lot of NHL 12 playing going on around the clock in an attempt to get my goaltending rank up as high as it can be, and my skills at their best for the scouting games, so I can hopefully end up as an early round pick in the MAHL draft this coming Sunday, when I’ll be entering my rookie season in the Moose.

Myself and my assistant GM for KK’s EASHL Club System had a meeting the other day, to discuss the current status of the Club, as well as how the EASHL itself is looking this year. The conclusion that we both came to is that things kind of suck at the moment. As it’s looking like we are going to end up sending about 95% of the Main Club’s current roster down to the Farm Club for now, since “training camp” is about wrapped up for us.

The EASHL seems to taken a bit of a dive in general this year, as the new Club Cool-down has turned into a doubled edged sword of annoyance. Making it even harder to put a new Club together from scratch, which was already no easy task to begin with. So we decided to look for a decent player-run league to satisfy our own personal needs for some good competitive 6v6 online hockey action. Personally, I had little faith in this, given past things I’ve heard about some player-run leagues.

Then we found the Moose Hockey League.

Today marks a fresh start for many people around the hockey world, as it kicks off the start of the NHL pre-season. Cluster Pucks now also has it’s very own page here on KK, which is something I’ve been waiting for since I joined the wonderful and talented crew of bloggers here. Although, the puck has already dropped on a few leagues that this blog covers. Two thirds of the CHL regular season are underway, as the WHL and QMJHL have already begun play. The OHL will start in a few days on Wednesday. Plus the EASHL for this year got kicked off on September 13th when the NHL 12 was released in North America.

Anyway, I just had a few things I wanted to add/correct/update from my NHL 12 review. As well as update everyone on how the first few days of KK’s EASHL Club System is going, as well as how the first few days of the first season (September) have been in the EASHL in NHL 12.

The time has finally come. My NHL 12 review is here. Granted I probably still could have used a bit more time with the game, and ran into a few bumps in the road along the way. Sometimes the puck takes a funny bounce though, and that’s hockey, you just have to roll with the punches, and always be ready for anything and everything. Anyway, without further delay, let’s get started.

There is so much to talk about with NHL 12, that it’s hard to know where to begin. Thankfully EA Sports sent me a little “Review Guide” along with my paperwork, so I’ll just use that for the basic structure.

Well HockeyFest 2011 has come and gone. Nether myself, nor my assistant for the day, my good friend Mike, lasted the entire event, as we were both exhausted by 3PM. So, after I got home around 4PM, I passed out until about 11:30PM. Then I woke up and started sorting through all of the media I had gotten, which took a few hours in itself.

Anyway, for a full recap of Saturday’s event from my perspective, continue reading.

Note: I know this was supposed to have been posted yesterday, but Paul overruled me on it, and suggested we save something like this for Monday, so it doesn’t get lost in the weekend posts.

The official release of NHL 12 in North America is just around the corner, next Tuesday, and the early access download to be released later today, at 6PM EST for EA Sports Season Ticket subscribers.

So I figured today would be the perfect time to announce that Kukla’s Korner will have their own official EASHL Club in NHL 12 on Xbox 360. Well, not just one mere Club, but an entire “Club System” actually. Continue reading on for all of the details regarding this special announcement.
