I know this is a little late but....

I still wanted to wish everyone a blessed Christmas season and say a belated Happy Thanksgiving. We are all truly blessed and at this time of year we need to be even more thankful for and generous with the blessings God has granted us.

Here are a few pics of the resort where my family and I were staying. It is in the Ozarks of Missouri on Table Rock Lake. It was beautiful weather the first part of the week with 70 and sunny Monday through Thanksgiving. The only little snafu on the trip was that on our second day there, Tuesday evening, my daughter fell and broke her collar bone. She was still able to have a wonderful time and impressed the heck out of me with how she handled her injury...well anyway...

I'm Moving!

Since I moved out of my last residence back in the middle of June I have been a vagabond. I have temporarily been staying with friends and family and looking for a place to call my own. Now you may be wondering why it took so long? Well for me it was a very big decision. I have two kids and where I live has a big impact on them as well. At the present time they don't live with me, but I am hopeful that they will be in the near future. Because of this I had to take them into account when it came to size and location.

I looked at a ton of places in many many different municipalities. Well I finally decided on a place last week and put down my deposit. I have never rented before, but given my situation at the moment I have not been looking to buy. Well, I met the owner of the place last night and signed the lease. I now have keys to my brand new place. To say I'm a bit stoked is probably an understatement. It will be so nice to have my own place again. It will be next week before I move in and I am sooo looking forward to it.

The price and the location of this place really can't be beat. The original asking price was quite a bit more than what I am paying so that is a blessing. The location is very close to work and major roadways so I can get places pretty easily. It is also within walking distance for the elementary, middle, junior, and high schools. Now isn't that cool. Congrats to me!

People that know me know I like to go fast. Whether it is in my car or on my bike I like speed. Is Paddling Your Children Abuse?

The issue of parental paddling has been a very polarizing issue. Many parents feel that when administered in the right manner paddling is a necessary form of discipline. Others feel that it can never be administered in the right manner and is always abuse. What are your feelings on this issue? Can paddling be administered in such a way as to not be abuse?

Another angle on the issue is that of privacy. There are those that feel that how they raise and discipline their children is a personal and private manner. Many times this issue also falls along religious lines and is viewed as a biblical form of discipline.

There is a story out of Wisconsin about a Pastor that is on trial for paddling his son. The pastor used a wooden paddle and paddled each cheek of his son leaving light bruises. The case is going to be tried before a jury who will decide whether the man committed felony abuse. What are your feelings on this case? Here is a link to the story in the Portage Daily Register.

Living your whole life on the shores of Lake Michigan you sometimes take for granted the extreme beauty of the lake and Michigan's Great Southwest. I took some pictures the other night from the north pier in St. Joseph and thought you might appreciate them.

I Can See Clearly Now! Can You?

I had the Intralase and Custom Wavefront LASIK done almost a year ago as a Christmas present to myself. I know a ton of people that have one type or another of LASIK, yes there are several different LASIK procedures, done over the last several years and they have pretty much all been extremely happy with the procedure. I am still 100% completely satisfied with the results. I don't have dry eyes, no halos, no stars, and no other night vision problems. It is still amazing to me that I can see and every once in a while I still think, "man it is late I should take out my contacts." Very funny... Honestly some times for people that haven't worn glasses or contacts their whole life or whose eyes aren't as bad as mine WERE :), it is very hard to describe to them the feeling I have just being able to see. This is my son's first year playing rocket football and he loves it. His team went undefeated and is going to a bowl game! Yeah they have those for rocket football around here. He has had a wonderful time playing and I have had a wonderful time cheering like a mad man from the stands thanks to the inspiring cheerleading of my daughter! Kyle Orton Powers My Fantasy Team To Victory

While Kyle Orton's numbers certainly haven't been spectacular they also haven't been Grossman, Rex that is, like. When my two quarterbacks were sidelined due to injury and a benching I had to pick up one of the few QB's available. This was right before the CHI/PHI game and I really felt that CHI would win and Orton would have a nice game. Well the Bears did win and Orton had an okay game. When some of the other guys in the league saw I had Orton as my quarterback they were laughing at me. What is funny is that I am 2-1 with him and was 0-3 without. He gave me a solid 33 and change this week and the QB points really helped big time to secure my victory. Well that and Randy Moss having a few touchdowns...

Now who is laughing :)....

This is just another example of how ACORN is knowingly violating federal law and practicing illegal voter registration activities. They supposedly screen all registrations before they are submitted. Wouldn't you think a registration for a fictional character like Mickey Mouse would be flagged as obviously fraudulent? Of course it would, which lends credence to the allegations of willful voter fraud on the part of ACORN.

ACORN, the radical community organizer group Obama worked for, is being investigated for illegal voter registration activity in at least nine battleground states across the country. Fraud perpetrated by the organization includes the registering of almost the entire Dallas football team IN NEVADA, and the registration of Jimmy John in Indiana whose address turned out to be, SHOCK, a Jimmy John's sub shop. This is the type of experience Obama got while working as a community organizer with ACORN in Chicago, Illinois. ACORN has a long history of this type of activity dating all the way back to when Obama was working with the group in Chicago, Illinois. I'm not accusing Barack Obama of illegal voter registration fraud but it should probably be investigated. Remember it isn't whether or not the allegations are credible, or even believable for that matter, it is the seriousness of the charge :)...

This time the news comes from the battleground state of Missouri. Let's see now we have ACORN involved in illegal voter registrations in Missouri, Wisconsin, New Mexico, Nevada, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Indiana, Illinois, and God knows where else. You all do realize that Obama's community organizer experience came while he was working with ACORN, Association Of Community Organizers for Reform Now, in Chicago, Illinois.

Mr. Obama, You Aren't 8 and Ayers is Still a Terrorist

The key Mr. Obama is that you are no longer 8, and Ayers is as much a terrorist now as he was then. He has continuously said that he does not regret his actions and has refused to ruled out the possibility of repeating those actions. He was a terrorist and still is a terrorist. His current occupation doesn't matter a hill of beans when it comes to whether he was and is a terrorist or not. So in say 10 years if we still haven't killed Bin Laden, it would be perfectly fine for a kid that was only 8 in 2001 to "pall around with terrorists." After all now Bin Laden is a "professor" at madrasahs and training camps.

My question for Obama and his "I was only 8" argument is,

In 2001 when Ayers published his memoir standing by his actions and saying "the question of did we do something that was horrendous, awful? ... I don't think so." and "I feel we didn't do enough", and, when asked if he would "do it all again" was quoted as saying "I don't want to discount the possibility," you were not 8 you were about 40. With Ayers being unrepentant of his actions, and therefore still a terrorist, why have you not strenuously denounced him and avoided any and all contact and communication?
