Piwik is an alternative to Google Analytics and Piwik can be downloadble, with Free and Open Source GPLv3 license. As an alternative to Google Analytics, its provides you with detailed real time analytics of your websites visitors. The information include the search engines and keywords they used, the language they speak, your popular pages and so much more.

Piwik is a PHP MySQL software program that you download and install on your own webserver. At the end of the five minute installation process you will be given a JavaScript code. Simply copy and paste this tag on websites you wish to track (or use an existing plugin to do it automatically for you) and access your analytics reports in real time.

Just found this open source software for managing files in a web directory. Can be implemented for CMSForNerd.

eXtplorer is a web-based File Manager. You can use it to

browse directories, files on the server and
edit, copy, move, delete files,
search, upload and download files,
create and extract archives,
create new files and directories,
change file permissions (chmod) and much more...

You can even use eXtplorer to login to the FTP server (like net2ftp) and work as if you were using an FTP client. Access via WebDAV is also possible (requires some extra work and a database!).

eXtplorer is released under a dual-license: You can choose wether you want to use eXtplorer under the Mozilla Public License (MPL 1.1) or under the GNU General Public License (GNU/GPL). Note that if you decide to distribute/use eXtplorer under the MPL, you are not allowed to use the ExtJS Javascript library.

eXtplorer needs at least PHP 4.3 on the server and an up-to-date browser with Javascript enabled to run.

Installing And Configure Horde Framework

Most of the information to install can be found from file INSTALL under directory docs. Basically

(1) Install the needed PEAR modules.
(2) Create Horde database and tables needed.
(3) Im using Centos 5.2 I need to install php-pear and php-xml

By default we will get Administrator login.

Configuration can be done from Setup module.

We need to change how the authentication work. I will used mysql as the authentication driver. The file script.initial_horde_user.sql can be found under directory /usr/share/horde/scripts/sql

The default user is admin with the password is admin. Please reset this.

Make sure setting for Database is configure before changing the Authentication setting to used Mysql.

Problem that I'm encounter. I'm want to used different directory from the default horde. My login failed.

The problem may from the cookies path setting under General Tab Setup. From Horde log it's said

I'll stick with the default directory for a while.

Right now I want to get used to create application with Horde Framework.

More changes to the setting. This using Horde Setup module.

(1) Preference System -> Mysql Database -> Horde Defaults

(2) Data Tree System -> Mysql Database -> Horde Defaults

(3) Cache System -> SQL-Based Cache Storage and Im using memcached for use_memorycache setting.

For Centos 5.2 memcached can be install using rpm from rpmforge. Install memcached and php-pecl-memcache.

CmsForNerd is a simple Contents Management Software or CMS that can easily understand by any PHP programmers. It's using the common logics and structures that are used by numbers of PHP programs and CMS.

Our goal is to produce an output that confirm to XHTML W3C standard. By using PHP any web pages a website using CmsForNerd can have a standard theme and XHTML output.

CmsForNerd is target for advanced end users that like to coding in HTML, PHP and CSS but want the web site to be easy to maintain and manage.

CmsForNerd is design not to used any database. CMS with database will added extra administration jobs to backup and checking the database.

CmsForNerd is for small web site with static contents that not usually change.

A web page from CmsForNerd is called from a PHP script. Each web pages will have it own PHP scripts. This PHP scripts will get it's content from contents folder. This PHP script also called pager.php from theme folder for the layout of the web page.
The list of Files and folders used by CmsForNerd

(1) This files must be in the contents directory

* common-headertag.inc - Contain information for HEAD TAG. Some information need to be customize for your website.
* header.inc - not used but need to have for reference. Refer header.tpl in themes folder.
* footer.inc - The common footer of the web site.

The admin only need to copy 2 files. One file in PHP code will called a file that has the content in HTML. This PHP file will also called a theme files that will customize the look of the website.

With the knowledge in PHP, HTML and CSS a theme can be customize. Theme can be change without the need to adjust the contents.

The content files can contain any type of coding, HTML, JavaScript, PHP and many more, as long the web server support it.

One of our concern about using CMS, the need to customize the links output for the search engine. We want to make the links and output produce a search engine friendly.
