Topic: First-principles simulations of phase equilibria

Fluid phase equilibria at extreme conditions will be studied with
Monte Carlo simulations based on first-principles (ab initio) energy
evaluations. These methods will be applied in a survey of the
high-temperature fluid phase behavior of elemental systems across
the periodic table, including liquid-liquid and liquid-vapor

Previously, the CoMSEF forums and a few other parts of the web site were only accessible to members after logging in to the site. This was done to preserve these features as "members-only" benefits. However, that limited the availability of this information and also made it a bit less accessible to members too. Therefore, the CoMSEF executive committee decided to make the forums, newsletters, and minutes public. Login will no longer be required for accessing them. Login is still required to make posts, comment on posts, vote in elections, etc.

As part of a European Union-funded project (EDICT - European Drug Initiative for Ion Channels and Transporters) we're looking for a talented postdoc with a general interested in simulations, free energy calculations, and docking. The initial appointment is for two years, starting 2008. We're primarily looking for intellectually outstanding candidates rather than specific background, and the right person will have ample opportunity to have input on the research direction.
