I am in the process (constantly am actually) of adding new products to my shop. I am loving the whole turquoise and coral combo at the moment and have used these colours as inspiration for some of my new pieces, it's just such a fun and colourful look, great to cheer you up during the winter months! Featured Designer Of The Week: 1 Of My Kind

I stumbled across this designer on Etsy and was immediately captivated by her gorgeous jewels. The colours are so intense and the style so elegantly vintage, just perfect really. I saw this necklace and it was love at first sight! In fact I purchased this beauty not so long ago and am eagerly awaiting it's arrival. An Antique Czechoslovakian glass jewel is encased in a vintage brass filigree, topped with a little sparrow and chalcedone briolette. Simply stunning!

Because...I love the funky mix of pink and black and the asymmetrical design.

Because...blue is my favourite colour and this necklace brings together brightest turquoise with subtle baby blues.

Because...It's just so versatile! You can wear this as a necklace at any length or even as a bracelet wound around your wrist!

Because...the swirly blue spheres of lapis lazuli look like mini planets or beautiful night skies.

Silver Drink Me necklace by Hoolala at Hannah Zakari

This adorable pendant necklace features an image taken from a vintage pack of cards made in the 1800's. The 'drink me' bottle is of course the one from the infamous Alice In Wonderland!

Ocean Garden or Something Blue necklace

I just love this blue and gold necklace from It's Your Life! A gorgeous combination of vintage beads, raw brass, pearls and Swarovski crystal makes this piece a once off find that everyone will admire.

These super feminine and elegant earrings from Pequitobun are vintage personified! All vintage findings mixed with 14K gold and pretty pink and blue glass beads. Perfect for the warm weather here in Durbs where it's never really winter!

From one of my favourite movies Lost in Translation, a set of two pop art prints of Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson. These are only $20 for the pair at Almost Famous . I want!

Jennifer Morris earrings

I just had to include a piece of jewellery from my new favourite designer Jennifer Morris. She makes absolutely beautiful, detailed earrings and pendants using polymer clay and crystals. Simply stunning!

Anne Maa rings

These rings by Anne Maa Designs look good enough to eat! I couldn't decide on a favourite so I chose a few.

Tweaking and fine tuning!

I finally finished my new website, sat back and and admired it's beauty for a brief few seconds but then decided it was (already) time to make some changes. I found the previous home page too cluttered and lengthy so thought I would clean it up a bit, get rid of excess pixels and make it more minimal. I am pretty happy with the results though who knows how long it'll be before I'm ripping it to shreds again! I also decided a separate news page was called for to keep everybody up to date with my ever changing mind.
For all you British and American folk who pay a bit more for shipping, do not despair! If you spend R700 or more on any items you will recieve free shipping! How cool is that? There are also some specials to get you in the spending mood so please take a look by clicking on the specials link on the home page.
I'm always open to peoples opinions of my jewellery and would love some feedback, ideas, even constructive criticism, so I have added a comments section at the bottom of each of my item pages. Please stop by and tell me what you think.
I have been working on some new designs incorporating some gorgeous stones which I recently ordered and I will be adding them very soon so keep your eyes peeled! These pieces will be part of my autumn/winter range and will be more natural, chunky and minimalist, not to mention colourful. Great for cheering you up during the winter months!

Cocoon Jewellery Opening!

After many months, blood, sweat and tears my new online shop Cocoon Jewellery is officially open! I have put my skills of jewellery making and graphic design together (as well as help from my genius boyfriend) to come up with a website which, I think, is fresh, fun and user friendly. I can't begin to tell you how excited I am as this has been a dream of mine for many years now.
