SBWin 3.0 Released

The first stable version of SBWin 3.0, the SEGA Genesis/Megadrive ROM converter, is now available and can be downloaded in the “Downloads” section. Expect a number of improvements in speed and performance (compared to 3.0 RC2). Some Highlights in this version:

32x files can now be opened
Multi Game Doctor extension used when converting is now “.mgd;” this extension is more common for the format than the previous “.md.”
Overall user interface is quicker
Other minor and major bugs corrected

Please note that upgrading from RC2 (or earlier) is not supported in this version. In fact, if the previous version is not completely removed, it may cause the program to not operate correctly. Make sure to uninstall RC2 or older versions before installing 3.0.

Site Email Fixed

CodeIsle.com’s email system has been moved to a new email host. This will allow registration and announcement emails to be sent to more addresses (some email providers were previously blocking our email).

What does the mean for you?

If you previously signed up for CodeIsle.com and never received your registration email (containing your username and password), you may now request a new one by resetting your password (clicking the link under the login area on the homepage).

If you are a subscriber of our email newsletter, and your email provider was disallowing CodeIsle.com’s email, you should now properly get future emails from us.

Future of SBWin – Need Feedback

SBWin will soon hit 3.0 (final) within the next week or so, but future development (for version 4.0 and beyond) will not start right away. In fact, further versions may not be released until there is more community involvement (on the forums or on the support page).

As it currently stands, very little feedback on the application has been given by the community. Thus, it is unknown how interested the community is about further development of SBWin. Until there is more activity, development may not be continued past version 3.0.

Anything else you would like to comment on related to the application

You can send this information via our support page, or post a message on our forum. Community feedback is vital to the future of the application.

SBWin 3.0 (Final) Coming Soon

Final bug fixes and changes are being made to SBWin v3.0, the SEGA Genesis ROM converter. Previously, only beta and release candidates have been available, but now 3.0 final (the first stable release) is nearly ready. Internal testing is underway, and version 3.0 final should be available either this, or early next month.

Changes to the look and feel are minor, but some major bugs have been fixed, and performance improvements have been made since 3.0 RC2.

Look out for a release soon!

Site Registration Issues (Resolved)

There is a temporary issue with codeisle.com’s mail server not allowing activation emails to be sent to certain email services. If you have a Microsoft based (hotmail, live etc) or google based email, you will not receive your registration information. Until this problem is resolved, please use another provider (if possible) when registering. Work is being done to fix this issue.

When this problem is fixed, a post will be made in the news section. At that time, if you had previously registered with one of the blocked email services, you may get a new password by hitting the password reset link located under the login box.

Update (12-27-2011):

The registration issues have been resolved. If you never got your registration information during signup, please click the “Lost Password?” link located on the homepage (directly below the login form).

New Website Will Change Sharing

Over the past several months, work has been done to create a brand new website. Not a lot will be mentioned at this time, but expect to see something cool coming out in December. Here is a hint: it is a brand new way to share information online.

Keep a look out next month for the official launch (currently, finishing touches are being made).

Update (12-31-2011):

~~Due to some technical issues, a decision has been made to postpone the launch of the new website until January 2012. Stay tuned for an exact date of the launch soon.~~

Update (2/24/2012)

The launch has been postponed; it is expected to began once a third party has finished updating a component used for the development of the website.

SBWin 3 RC2, The SEGA Genesis ROM Converter Released

As promised, Release Candidate 2 of SBWin 3, the SEGA Genesis (Megadrive) ROM converter has been released. You can download it now on the download page: http://www.codeisle.com/downloads/?did=6.

Features in this version include:

Batch conversion limit increased from 250 to unlimited (when not converting in combined compression mode)
Combined compression increased to 1000 files at a time
Redesigned status bar (now more compact)
Various other enhancements and speed improvements (read the “Readme.txt” for a complete list of changes)

SBWin 3 RC2 Releasing This Weekend

Version 3.0 Release Candidate 2 of SBWin, the SEGA Genesis ROM Converter, is complete and is scheduled to be release sometime this weekend. You will be able to download it in the downloads section of this website. It will likely be the last release candidate before the completed version of 3.0 stable is released. This means that after RC2 is available, no new changes will be made to the application unless critical to the program’s functionality.
