This is mostly just a small update adding some new images from my most recent hike on the trail in August 2022. I was never quite happy with the images in the guide, as I had almost too nice of weather (if that is possible) during my first hike of the trail in July 2019. I had planned a second hike for 2020, but we all know what happend then, so it wasn’t possible for me to return to Sweden again until this year.

This week I published the 4th edition of the: West Lofoten Hikes eBook

If you’ve purchased a previous version, then you should have already received an email for a free download of the 4th edition.

It is only a minor update, with 5 new hiking routes added: Hellsegga, Moltind, Neslandsheia, Nesheia, and Andopshesten. But more importantly, there has been quite a few changes in regards to the parking for Kvalvika beach and Ryten in the Fredvang area, as well as a new Reine – Vindstad ferry for Bunes beach and Kirkefjord. So I wanted to get those updates out before the summer season of 2022 started to pick up – especially since after 2 years of reduced travel, the islands are probably going to be busy this year as everyone is once again getting on the road.

Padjelantaleden – Kvikkjokk to Ritsem

The ebook is a hiking guide to Sweden’s Padjelanta trail, which runs 140 kilometers from Kvikkjokk to Ritsem, through the heart of Padjelanta national park – Sweden’s largest.

The ebook contains 5 chapters. The first include detailed planning, travel, and equipment guides. While the final chapter is a hut to hut guide covering 10 days of hiking over the 140 kilmoters of trail.

In total the ebook is 140 pages long and contains 92 images.

I’m happy to announce the second edition of Kungsleden South ebook. Now covering the southern 260km of trail between Kvikkjokk and Hemavan – and the whole of the Kungsleden if combined with Kungsleden North – Abisko to Kvikkjokk.

From the first edition which only covered the final section of the trail between Ammarnäs to Hemavan, I have added the 180km section between Kvikkjokk and Ammarnäs, now completing the trail.

The ebook itself has now nearly doubled in length, coming it at 159 pages with 139 images and over 16,000 words.

This has been a long overdue hole that I had planned to finish for several year. However, despite my best efforts, I was never able to find a hiking partner, which makes my trips much more productive photographically, as well as fun. But finally this year I decided it was time to head back to Sweden, even if solo. And so in September I finally completed the missing section from Kvikkjokk to Ammarnäs over 9 days.

And it wasn’t just the Kungsleden I visited this year. In July I hiked the nearby Padjelantaleden. The first English language hiking guide to that wonderful trail is already in progress and will hopefully be completed before the new year. And I’m already planning a second hike of the trail for September 2020 – Autumn is always my favourite time in Swedish Lapland! And I have to say, the mosquitos were too ferocious for me in July! I’m never going back to Sweden in summer! So keep an eye out here for updates in the near future…

I’m happy to announce that the 2nd edition of the Seasons on Lofoten – Summer ebook is now available.

It has been a long overdue update, with the first edition released in 2015, before I moved to Lofoten. The 2nd edition is now 30 pages longer, 155 pages from the previous 125. Now with 122 images vs. the previous 98 images. Some re-writing of old sections, but mainly new content to reflect the modern reality of Lofoten, which has changed quite a lot in just 4 years.

Those of you who have purchased the first edition will receive a free update to the 2nd edition, even if you bought at the old price, so keep an eye on your inboxes for the new download link.

As always the ebooks are a continuing work in progress. Hopefully it won’t be another 4 years before the next update. But it is also a time consuming task – It’s been around 80 hours of work for this update.

There are are few new ebooks in the works as well. I’ve been out purposely photographing for a possible, and long overdue spring/autumn ebook. And hopefully another hiking ebook during the summer – though I haven’t been able to find any hiking partners. So if interested, shoot me an email, and maybe something will work out…

Main new content is 3 new mountain routes: Andstabben, Tindstind, and Fuglhuken – all located on Moskenesøy. And then a few minor grammer corrections and other things to try and keep the guide as fresh as possible.

I’m happy to announce that the third edition of Seasons on Lofoten: Winter is now available.

Almost 3 years to the day since I launched the first edition, which was also my first ebook, it now is part of 6 guides to northern Scandinavia. This is mostly just a minor refresh of some data, correcting of some spelling, and a few new images in the portfolio.

I’m super happy to announce the release of my 6th ebook! West Lofoten – A Mountain Photography Guide to 24 Hikes on Moskenesøy and Flakstadøy

Like the title says, this guide focuses on the mountains of west Lofoten – my home for the last year now and where I have spent a majority of my time.

Available for $14. The book is 239 pages long with 150 image, and somewhere around 28,000 words. This is my biggest work yet and took up a lot of my time over the last months – not counting all the hiking that needed to be done over the past summer! But I think the effort was worth it and I’m quite happy with the result.
