Every year The ANNUAL launches the next generation of fine artists, media artists and designers. This massive exhibition features a stunning array of animation, ceramics, drawing, digital imaging, environments, graphics, installation, interactive media, jewellery, motion graphics, objects, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, sound, textiles and video works by COFA's more than 350 graduating students.

Alan Krell discusses his new book, "Burning Issues: Fire and Art in the Social Imagination". Alan has explored fire in art from the Greek myth of Prometheus to use of fire, both creatively and literally, in modern art, and looked at these works of art in the context of society and its relationship to fire, the "dreadful prankster".

Alan Krell is Associate Professor at the School of Art History and Art Education, College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.

Ross Harley talks about the websites he is currently developing and administrating, including "Design and Art Online Australia" and the upcoming "Scanlines", both of which have been established to preserve an aspect of Australian media, be it cultural, physical or historical.

Ross is the Head at the School of Media Arts. Ross is an artist, writer, and educator in the field of new media and popular culture. His work crosses the bounds of media art practice, cinema, music, design, and architecture.

Susan Best: Visualising Feeling

Susan Best looks at minimalist artists throughout the last century.

Susan looks at various artists from the 1960's and 70's, with particular emphasis on Eva Hesse, and how their work transformed the avant-garde protocols of the period by introducing an affective dimension to late modern art. This aspect of their work, while frequently noted, has never been analysed in detail.

Dr Susan Best is a Senior Lecturer and the Art History Postgraduate Coordinator at the School of Art History and Art Education at COFA.
