One of the female authors in the world of "self-help" that I adore is Marianne Williamson. Her books changed the way I view the world, love, life, and women. Her words really ring true and I admire the way she writes.... If only I could write like her. *swoons*

This book is a call to all the women of the world and the lovers of women. :) This honors all types of women and what we bring to the world in our own way. What we thought was weak is honored in this book. Absolutely one of the books i recommend women read. :)

This is a review and summary of the movie The Bucket List

Corprate billionaire Edward Cole(Jack Nicholson) and working class mechanic Carter Chambers(Morgan Freeman) who have nothing in common except for their terminal illnesses. While sharing a hospital room together at Cole's hospital, they decide to leave the place and do all the things they have ever wanted to do before they die according to their bucket list. In the process, both of them heal each other, become unlikely friends, and ultimately find the joy in life. from ImDB.

This movie inspired me to create my own bucket list. Such a nice heartwarming story about living life in the present moment.

Edward Cole: Good afternoon. My name is Edward Cole. I don't know what most people say at these occasions because in all honesty, I've tried to avoid them. The simplest thing is I loved him and I miss him. Carter and I saw the world together, which is amazing when you think that only three months ago we were complete strangers. I hope that it doesn't sound selfish of me, but the last months of his life were the best months of mine. He saved my life, and he knew it before I did. I'm deeply proud that this man found it worth his while to know me. In the end, I think it's safe to say that we brought some joy to one another's lives, so one day, when I go to some final resting place, if I happen to wake up next to a certain wall with a gate, I hope that Carter's there to vouch for me and show me the ropes on the other side.

Carter Chambers: [in his letter to Edward] Dear Edward, I've gone back and forth the last few days trying to decide whether or not I should even write this. In the end, I realized I would regret it if I didn't, so here it goes. I know the last time we saw each other, we weren't exactly hitting the sweetest notes-certain wasn't the way I wanted the trip to end. I suppose I'm responsible and for that, I'm sorry. But in all honestly, if I had the chance, I'd do it again. Virginia said I left a stranger and came back a husband; I owe that to you. There's no way I can repay you for all you've done for me, so rather than try, I'm just going to ask you to do something else for me-find the joy in your life. You once said you're not everyone. Well, that's true-you're certainly not everyone, but everyone is everyone. My pastor always says our lives are streams flowing into the same river towards whatever heaven lies in the mist beyond the falls. Find the joy in your life, Edward. My dear friend, close your eyes and let the waters take you home.

Probably one of the 2012 possibility.. but it happened in 2009.

Found this book on sale at NBS. Though, I'm not really the type who would buy a book that screams "sex" in black.. but when I read the overview at the back and read the first few pages.. I told myself: "This is different". Indeed it is. It is very practical and modern. I love it!

This book personally helped me while I was going through things in my personal relationships. How to distinguish whether it's real or mere neurosis. from love the feeling to love the action.

Still reading it now and then....

Mhmmm.. not that good of a film. though... enough said.

The club proves to be a place of conflict and self-discovery, helping Lauryn to realize that even though plans may change, dreams never do.

It's a nice inspiring movie about dancing and pursuing one's dream.

I like this line in the movie: "Everybody who walks away from a dream has a reason and it's brave to give it another shot."

Overview and Review of the movie Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants directed by Ken Kwapis

This movie is based on a book written by Anne Brashares. Four best friends(Lena, Brash, Tibby and Carmen) spends their summer for the first time, away from each other. Before they part ways to different places for the summer, they found a magical pair of jeans that fits all of them perfectly event though they have various shapes and size. They made an agreement to share the pants the whole summer with each other and to keep in touch and write something wonderful that happened along with it because they believe it's magic.

What the four best friends had - is one DREAM FRIENDSHIP for every girl out there. Their bond is sooo good and you can see they accept each other unconditionally. Like sisters born in different families. This movie is all about their one summer where they are apart for the first time. It's a heartwarming coming of age story (and it can make you cry and laugh).... and the chemistry of the four young actresses were good and that's what makes this movie pretty special.

I also like the lines they came up with... because there's truth in it.

Some Lines I like:

Bailey: Maybe the truth is there's a little bit of loser in all of us, ya know? Being happy isn't having everything in your life be perfect. Maybe it's about stringing together all the little things like wearing these pants or getting to a new level of Dragon's Lair - making those count for more than the bad stuff. Shocked by this strange new environment that doesn't operate on a "happily ever after" basis, Giselle is now adrift in a chaotic world badly in need of enchantment. I could say more about the plot but that would spoil everything.

Giselle is this sweet innocent girl that you just love. She's naturally always IN LOVE. and that's what we all forget in this world that we are living in. It's a fresh reminder of BEING IN LOVE, and LIVING WITH LOVE.

I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the movie. It's target market are kids but the depth and wisdom about LOVE which people forget in the modern times is in this movie. Better than all those love stories popping in and out of the market today. I remember a book entitled "Enchanted Love" of Marianne Williamson on this one. This is just the movie that would summarize the book and make it easier to understand.

Light hearted setting but deep. GREAT SOUNDTRACK. Sorry about all the quotable quotes below.. I just like them!

Both the film and the book chronicle the lessons about life that Mitch learns from his professor, who is dying from ALS. Mitch and Morrie calls each other "Tuesday People".

This book is very inspiring and actually helped a lot of people appreciate Life and Death. Here, it talks mostly about the things we forget about or take for granted when we are still alive. You would cherish this book because of the wisdom and depth it brings. It talks about the things that matters most and would remind you to look and appreciate them before it's too late. It talks about Death, Family, Emotions, Wealth, Fame, Fear of Aging, Marriage, Culture, Community, Giving, Forgiveness and saying Goodbye in the physical level.

Heartwarming. A must read.

Jerry (Shia LaBeouf) and Rachel(Michelle Monaghan) are two strangers thrown together by a mysterious phone call from a woman they have never met. Threatening their lives and family through a series of blackmails, she pushes Jerry and Rachel into a series of increasingly dangerous situations, using the technology of everyday life (cellphone, nearby phone booths, cellphones of other people, electronic billboards and more) to track and control their every move.

Rachel Holloman: Do you think they could derail a train?

Jerry Shaw: They changed every traffic light to get us here. The woman, she called me on a stranger's cell phone who happened to be sitting next to me - never met the guy in my life. And then they broke me out of maximum security custody in a way I'm not even going to describe to you because it sounds crazy, and then they lift us off the face of the earth and drop us into this shitpile. She could probably derail a train, she could probably turn a train into a talking duck.

This is a "you can run but you can't hide" situation and another of those "what if's". Although the plot may sound unrealistic but it sure is one great entertaining movie what with Shia spearheading the lead. It's smart and it has this near relation to "I-Robot". Yes, kinda I-robot-ish. So there goes the originality on this one... but it's different all on its own. But, I enjoyed every bit of the movie, it has this intensity which can give you the edge. So, I'm giving it credit. It's also one case of where "technology" can go wrong even though how sophisticated that technology is. CGI is great. Actors did a great job.

Just watch it.

Twilight - Stephenie Meyer

I've been hearing about this vampire series which is the latest craze after the phenomenal Harry Potter for months already from my sister and online friends alike who loves to read.

Here goes: Seventeen year old, Isabella Swan, who lived with her mother ever since she was born decided to move in with his father to a small rainy town in Forks. She saw Edward Cullen in the school cafeteria on her first day in school and felt an instant attraction or curiosity about the guy. Boy meets girl huh? :) I guess, I shan't be spoiling a lot about the book, because I encourage you to read it na lang.

There were a couple of "kilig"-slash- spine tingling moments with Edward and Bella in this book, and it practically focuses on the two. That's why everybody enjoyed this. More kilig moments to come eh? It's a good book, with humor not *Cabot-ish easy, but close to that. It has great lines, I tell you. And a fast read as well, despite having 498 pages all in all. Although, there are times that I feel it's becoming predictable.

Anyhow, I recommend this book strongly to those who "WANTS to ENJOY READING", "STARTING TO READ", "LEARNING TO READ" because it's fun and an easy-read.
and of course to those who READS A LOT, I need not say why. Hehe.

Overview and Review of the movie The X Files : I want To Believe directed by Chris Carter.

6 years after: Ex-FBI agent Dr. Dana Scully is currently a staff physician at a hospital, and is treating a boy named Christian who has a terminal brain condition, while Fox Mulder continues to be a fugitive from the FBI. Agent Drummy, then approaches Scully to locate Mulder to help out in a case they are currently working on in exchange for calling of their manhunt against him.

The case they will try to solve involves a series of disappearances of several women, including one FBI agent named Monica Banan.

The theme makes me reminisce the past, watching the X-Files series. It's not that "scary", just quite eerie at times. And kinda gory in most parts. Performances were all good. Nice lines. I actually like the "Stem Cell Theory" they have. I was surprised to see it in this movie. I read about twice in two books, before I watched the movie.

X-Files fanatics would enjoy this.

Along the way something went wrong that would lead to a series of events.... Can they make it in time to save the dying sun???

It's a nice sci-fi movie with an unexpected twist by the near end. I wasn't expecting Michelle Yeoh to be here. It has nice characters, interesting dialogues, and of course the effects. I wasn't entirely impressed but there's something with the story though.

This idea of being Happier than God is revolutionary. And so, a lot of people tried to resist this great truth. But, fret not... here is the answer to our question.. here is the affirmation: that we can be Happier than God. Isn't that great?

I enjoyed reading this book... it talked about a lot of things and it clarified a lot of teachings of the phenomenal "Law of Attraction" message. It speaks to your heart and warms your heart more than a love story can. Really. GREAT. GREAT. GREAT.

This is a romantic-comedy about Laida, a naive girl who dreams of meeting her prince charming named Miggy Montenegro. Miggy Montenegro is the youngest of the Montenegro clan—a well-established family in the business world. Her dream of meeting Miggy and working close to him happened when she applied and got accepted as Editorial Assistant in Miggy's magazine "Bachelor".

It's actually a fun movie and at the same time it did not lack emo moments. It is not a romantic-comedy for nothing, it is loaded with good laughs (sundance and the stick-notes in the cup). The team-up of Sarah and John Lloyd is exceptionally good and lighthearted. Sarah is a natural in this movie. She wasn't OA at all. Sends shivers to your spine - in a good way. A heartwarming story of learning how to love oneself, and here you would learn that the one who is actually in the way of your success is just - YOURSELF. Oh, and it's a clean movie.

Thrilling and a nice book to bring when you are traveling. You can get a dose of history on this lot involving Eisenhower and Stalin. Features real people and fiction in one story, perfectly weaved. With a couple of twists and turns you would enjoy.

When Sam (Rory Culkin) got beaten up by a bully named George (Josh Peck), Sam's older brother Rocky (Trevor Morgan) and two of his friends Clyde (Ryan Kelley) and Marty (Scott Mechlowicz) planned to get back at George.

They came up with a plan to pretend it's Sam's birthday and "invite" George on a boat trip in which they would dare him to strip, jump in the lake, and run home naked. Along the way Sam, his girlfriend Millie (Carly Schroeder), Rocky, and Clyde sees that George is not really "that" bad after all but a kid who lacks attention, they wanted to call off the plan, but Marty refuses.

It looks kind of like an "Indie" film to me, which I am guessing it is.

An intelligent movie with great young actors. Very believable. It is also engaging, gets you hooked to the story. The story itself is unique and provoking at the same time. It's also quite disturbing and another one of those "what if's" situations. What if I'm there? this and that.
The lines are all good and pretty realistic. The actors may be young but this is a nice "grown-up" story you would learn a lot from. The acting, writing and directing were all good.

Rose Loyd, a middle-aged woman proves to us that starting over or new beginnings can be done despite the age. After 20 years of being with his husband, in a career she loves and raising up two kids, Rose suddenly finds her marriage and career on a brink.

The title is very misleading, and most people would look for the revenge part. But, wise people would understand where the "revenge" part lies. To those who have ears let them hear. :)

This is a very nice story. Heartbreaking at the beginning *pierces your heart to the max*, and with an unlikely ending. It's about overcoming the end of things you used to love. Coping up with the change and reinventing yourself. It is inspiring.

It also shows us that "The best revenge is actually LIVING WELL."

First Sentence: "Here," said Minty, my deputy, with one of her breathy laughs, "the review has just come in. It's hilariously vindictive."

I wasn't expecting it to turn out great but - IT IS. I had a fun time singing along with the hits from ABBA (Dancing Queen, I had a Dream, Money, Money, Money, and more). It was light hearted and very heartwarming. I soooo love the setting. I'm loving Greece even more!!! *swoons*

If you want singing and dancing...with a touch of love and romance.. I think this is the movie for you. And of course, teenagers would love it as much as the older generations would since it pictures both worlds. I enjoyed the stag party and the shower party. It was fun. Great Great Great! Brilliant! Feel good film. Whenever they sing "Dancing Queen" it would make you want to stand and dance to the beat... and all the songs actually remained and gave me an LSS a few days after watching it. :)

I wasn't really expecting that the Mummy would have a sequel. This time, the son of Rick(Brendan Fraser) and Evelyn(Maria Bello) named Alex grows up and follows his dad's footsteps and became an explorer himself.

Emperor Han(Jet Li), the Dragon Emperor was doomed to spend eternity in suspended animation, with 10,000 warriors, forgotten by many people. Alex who wants his own find... went on for a quest to find the Dragon Emperor and his army. the reckless young archaeologist must seek the help of the only people who know more than he does about taking down the undead: his parents.

I don't think I really enjoyed a lot with this 3rd part of the Mummy series. Was I expecting too much, that everything went down the drain? The humor in the movie this time seemed so off, and there's just sooo many things missing.

I wasn't blown away, when I expected to be.

This is about a young girl named Penelope Wilhern who was born with a face of a pig - a family curse which she must find true love with "one of her own kind" and realize the most important life lesson. She was hidden in their family estate with a string of husbands-to-be(one of the attempts her parents made to break the curse) but one by one they would leave as soon as they see her. One day, she thought she had it and decided to run away and be free.

It's a nice modern day fantasy, where you get to learn a lot. It's about liking who you really are. It's a cute film, ladies would love to check out. Very heart warming as well. It's magical and Christina Ricci portrayed Penelope well and it's actually one of the reasons why the movie is cute. James McAvoy looked cute here compared to Wanted. Hehe.

Overview and Review of Batman: The Dark Knight directed by Christopher Nolan.

Batman and James Gordon continues to exterminate crime in Gotham City, and this time they joined forces with a District Attorney named Harvey Dent. A new freak of a mastermind has taken over "organized crime" in Gotham City named Joker. No identity, no family, no nothing.

This is by far one of the best movie I've seen in 2008. It's Batman - he is a Hero.. so it must be loaded with action scenes right ? Well, get a load of this movie - it is not just action scenes you would enjoy but great memorable dialogues too. But, actually almost everything about this movie I enjoyed - the acting, the action scenes, the Lamborghini, the musical score, and did I say the dialogue ?

Christian Bale did a great job acting as the super-rich-i-can-do-anything-i-want bachelor Bruce Wayne and with his deep voice in his caped suit with all those flashy rides. Of course, Heath Ledger - actually made an ASTOUNDING PERFORMANCE as the Joker. Joker was a very provocative antagonist. He would really try hard to corrupt you. The other casts did their best and was exceptional. Just right for their part.

This movie is pretty much applicable to real life - it's not all fantasy. The comparison between the Corruptible(White Knight/TwoFace) and the Incorruptible(Dark Knight/Batman). Batman is now #1 in my Super Hero list. *laughs*

I also like the scene with the 2 Ships. `twas brilliant and moving. It also got me to thinking: "What If I am There?.. What would be the best thing to do?". And guess what? I did not pass. Mwahaha. Shucks. I need to think about that more often.

Batman: The Dark Knight sure amazed a lot of people, because it exceeded most of their expectations - the writing, the acting, the music and of course the directing. There was never a dull moment to the movie - you'd be glued to the screen most of the time. Everything is excellent!

A high school junior from Clayton High (Indiana) named Jenny Greenley is secretly the school newspaper's advice columnist "Ask Annie", a position she got due to her famous ability to keep other people's secrets and ability to give advices and help out. On the other hand, a teen star named Luke Striker is about to make a movie about high school, and since he is a star and grew up on TV, he really knows nothing about "a normal school life" and an ordinary teen lifestyle. He wanted to learn how it feels like being in High School and so Luke was to go to Clayton High. Clayton High's principal assigns Jenny to look after Luke and make sure no one else would know he is "Luke Striker". She was to show Luke around and all that.

and there the story begins.

This is so Meg-Cabot-ish. I like the "Ask Annie" portion in the book. This is a nice book with a twist in the end *to some it would be*. Very good for high school kids. oh and for Meg Cabot fans of course. Entertaining. As usual. Also teaches you how to stand up from what you believe in and doing something other than being neutral.

I read online it will be made into a movie.. Well.. we will see.
