Category: Movie

Genre: Chick Flick

Director: Paul Weiland

Writer: Adam Sztykiel, Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont

Producer: Columbia Pictures, Relativity Media, Original Film

Cast: Patrick Dempsey, Michelle Monaghan, Kevin McKidd, Kadeem Hardison, Chris Messina, Richmond Arquette, Busy Philipps, Whitney Cummings, Emily Nelson, Selma Stern and more

Tagline:
It takes a real man to become a maid of honor

Tom (Patrick Dempsey) and Hannah (Michelle Monaghan) have been platonic friends for 10 years now. Tom is a serial dater and Hannah wants to marry but did not get to find Mr. Right - YET. Just when Tom wants to go series in being in a relationship with Hannah, Hannah gets engaged. And Hannah asked Tom to be her "maid" of honor.

It's light and fun... with a good dose of comedic scenes. It has likeable characters. While this may seem so-so to some but still nothing beats a light, fun film during night time. If you are looking for something original or unique in a romantic flick, this is not the film for you. :)
Category: Movie

Genre: Drama / Romance

Director: Richard LaGravanese

Writer: Richard LaGravanese, Steven Rogers (based on a book by Cecilia Ahern)

Producer: Alcon Entertainment, Grosvenor Park Productions and Wendy Finerman Productions

Cast: Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler, Harry Conick Jr, Lisa Kudrow, Gina Gershon, James Marsters, Kathy Bates, Nellie McKay, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Christopher Whalen, Dean Winters, Anne Kent and more.

Tagline: Sometimes there's only one thing left to say.

A young widow, Holly Kennedy (Hilary Swank) discovers that her late husband, the passionate, funny and impetuous Irishman named Gerry (Gerard Butler) has left her 10 messages when she turned 30 in the form of a cake intended to help ease her pain and start a new life when he died. All letters were delivered in surprising ways, each sending her on
a new adventure and each signing off in the same way; P.S. I Love You.

It's heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. How something so great can end and how to start another equally magical journey is altogether shown in this movie. I enjoyed this romantic comedy slash drama film. Oh and its from a novel by Cecilia Ahern. Mhmm I haven't tried reading her books yet. I just might try one of her novels one day. :)

This is the most heartbreaking.... touching letter I've ever heard:

Gerry Kennedy: Dear Holly, I don't have much time. I don't mean literally, I mean
you're out buying ice cream and you'll be home soon. But I have a
feeling this is the last letter, because there is only one thing left to
tell you. It isn't to go down memory lane or make you buy a lamp, you
can take care of yourself without any help from me. It's to tell you how
much you move me, how you changed me. You made me a man, by loving me
Holly. And for that, I am eternally grateful... literally. If you can
promise me anything, promise me that whenever you're sad, or unsure, or
you lose complete faith, that you'll try to see yourself through my
eyes. Thank you for the honor of being my wife. I'm a man with no
regrets. How lucky am I. You made my life, Holly. But I'm just one
chapter in yours. There'll be more. I promise. So here it comes, the big
one. Don't be afraid to fall in love again. Watch out for that signal,
when life as you know it ends. P.S. I will always love you

It's amazing how a guy can love a woman like Gerry does. Oooffff... why do I always fall in love with book characters and movie characters??? Because they give me the luxury to feel things while watching or reading.... in a magical... way...........

Lines:

Patricia:
So now, all alone or not, you gotta walk ahead. Thing to remember is if we're all alone, then we're all together in that too.

Holly Kennedy: Dear Gerry, you said you wanted me to fall in love again, and maybe one
day I will. But there are all kinds of love out there. This is my one
and only life, And its a great and terrible and short and endless thing,
and none of us come out of it alive. I don't have a plan... except,
it's time my mom laughed again. She has never seen the world... she has
never seen Ireland. So, I'm taking her back where we started... Maybe
now she'll understand. I don't know how you did it, but you brought me
back from the dead. I'll write to you again soon. P.S... Guess what?

Cast: Al Pacino, Chris O'Donnell, James Rebhorn, Gabrielle Anwar, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Richard Venture, Bradley Whitford, Rochelle Oliver, and more

Tagline: Col. Frank Slade has a very special plan for the weekend.
A prep school student needing money agrees to "babysit" a blind man, but the job is not at all what he anticipated. This movie involves travel, women, good food, good life, fine wine, the tango and a loaded forty - five.

Gosh, I never thought I would cry so much while watching this. Super drama. It says it is about a woman but it was more than that. It is a film brought with frankness minus the sugar coating. I love the character development of the film, the dialogue of each actor. The film is both emotional and intellectual without lacking the moral value it gives.

Great Lines I Like:

Lt. Col. Frank : Oh, uh, Charlie - about your little problem - there are two kinds of people in this world: those who stand up and face the music, and those who run for cover. Cover is better.

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: No, I'm just gettin' warmed up. I don't know who went to this place, William Howard Taft, William Jennings Bryan, William Tell, whoever. Their spirit is dead, if they ever had one. It's gone. You're building a rat ship here. A vessel for seagoing snitches, and if you think you're preparing these minnows for manhood, you better think again, because I say you are killing the very spirit this institution proclaims it instills. What a sham. What kind of a show you guys are putting on here today? I mean, the only class in this act is sitting next to me, and I'm here to tell ya this boy's soul is intact. It's non-negotiable. You know how I know? Someone here, and I'm gonna say who, offered to buy it. Only Charlie here wasn't selling.

Lt. Col. Frank: Boys like these, younger than these, their arms torn out, their legs
ripped off. But there isn't nothin' like the sight of an amputated
spirit. There is no prosthetic for that. You think you're merely sending
this splendid foot soldier back home to Oregon with his tail between
his legs, but I say you are... executin' his soul! And why? Because he's
not a Bairdman. Bairdmen. You hurt this boy, you're gonna be Baird
bums, the lot of ya. And Harry, Jimmy, Trent, wherever you are out
there, FUCK YOU TOO!

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: I'm not finished! As I came in here, I heard those words, "Cradle of Leadership". Well, when the bough breaks, the cradle will fall. And it has fallen here. It has fallen. Makers of men, Creators of leaders. Be careful what kind of leaders you're producing here. I don't know if Charlie's silence here today is right or wrong. I'm not a judge or jury, but I can tell you this: He won't sell anybody out to buy his future! And that, my friends, is called integrity. That's called courage. Now that's the stuff leaders should be made of. Now I have come to the crossroads in my life. I always knew what the right path was. Without exception, I knew. But I never took it. You know why? It was too damn hard. Now here's Charlie. He's come to the crossroads. He has chosen a path. It's the right path. It's a path made of principle that leads to character. Let him continue on his journey. You hold this boy's future in your hands, committee. It's a valuable future. Believe me. Don't destroy it. Protect it. Embrace it. It's gonna make you proud one day, I promise you.

Funny Lines:

Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Thank you Randy. You still with Snowqueen Sugar?

Randy: Snowflake. How come you always get that wrong?
Lt. Col. Frank Slade: Because it's not important for me to get it right.

Genre: Drama / Romance

Author: Elizabeth Adler

When Lara Lewis turned forty-five she began to feel like she lost herself and she is becoming a miserable woman day by day. Even more so, now that she's forty-five. She looked in front of the mirror, asking herself: "Where did you go?" Her relationship with her husband of twenty-five years is also hitting rock bottom as she realized that her husband is ignoring her day by day.

For their anniversary she booked a second honeymoon trip with Bill (her husband), to relive the moment they were married. But, discovers that Bill is having an affair with his secretary.

Lost, and miserable..... will she finally discover the real Lara that was slowly disappearing?

With the help of friends, she begins to take a step. It's a dramatic story, however you'd enjoy the scenic reads as Elizabeth Adler takes us to Paris in this tale. Not Adler's best novel but it's okay... I think its Adler's attempt to make a simple story. :P
Category: Documentary Movie

Genre: Economics

Directed By: Charles Ferguson

Written By: Charles Ferguson / Chad Beck

Narrated By: Matt Damon

Tagline: The global economic crisis of 2008 cost tens of millions of people their
savings, their jobs, and their homes. This is how it happened

This documentary movie provides a comprehensive analysis of the global financial
crisis of 2008, caused millions of
people to lose their jobs and homes in the worst recession since the
Great Depression, and nearly resulted in a global financial collapse.

Through exhaustive research and extensive interviews with key financial
insiders, politicians, journalists, and academics, the film traces the
rise of a rogue industry which has corrupted politics, regulation, and
academia. It was made on location in the United States, Iceland,
England, France, Singapore, and China.(from IMDB)

I got intrigued... about this movie due to the outburst of the Occupy Wall Street which is currently spreading across the globe. However, is getting little or no media attention at all (because apparently, the mainstream media is controlled by the 1%).

Anyway, for the ordinary person who would watch this movie who is not familiar with global economic jargon or jibberish like moi... just read between the lines... and carefully watch the emotions of Wall Street players which I'm sure you would come to the conclusion that they have been eaten by the system... programmed to be heartless... its a bit sad... but well, there's hope.

How? By becoming aware and come up with a creative solution that will sustain the society. One that is win, win...

Genre: Drama

Director: Ruel S. Bayani

Writer: Keiko Aquino, Ricardo Fernando III, Kris Gazmen

Producer: Star Cinema, Viva Films
Cast: Anne Curtis, Derek Ramsey, Cristine Reyes, Tirso Cruz, Carmi Martin, John Arcilla, Ricci Chan, Nina Dolino, Ron Morales, Kat Alano, Kitkat and more

The film revolves on Ram Escaler's journey (Derek Ramsey) by becoming a successful working
husband married to Charmaine (Cristine Reyes), whose perfect marriage becomes complicated when he commits into
an adulterous affair with Kara Zalderiaga (Anne Curtis)that changes his life.

Uhmm... It's a good film. Specially if you can relate to the movie. Specially the women... Overall it had a good ending and it shows how people can shift from the "need" mentality and forgive. There are many good strong lines and were really trending on twitter and facebook statuses already...

Watched it at Abreeza with an aunt and one of her colleagues.
Category: Movie

Genre: Chick Flick

Director: Griffin Dunne

Writer: Mimi Hare, Clare Naylor

Producer: Yari Film Group, Blumhouse Productions, Team Todd

Cast: Uma Thurman, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Colin Firth, Sam Shepard, Lindsay Sloane, Justina Machado, Ajay Naidu, Jeffrey Tedmori, Nick Sandow, Michael Mosley, Brooke Adams and more.

Tagline: Falling in love ... even the expert is confused.

The ex-boyfriend of one of the callers of a hit radio talk show in New York, Patrick sets his eye for revenge on the woman responsible for it - Emma Lloyd (the radio host). He became the accidental husband and it appeared as somewhat like a "computer glitch" which can also ruin Emma's loving relationship with her fiance, Richard.

I had loads of fun watching this movie. Although I recommend that you don't bother getting into the technicalities and how it can be not-so-real and all that because it really can be somewhat silly. However... it's a good film if you want entertainment and a lil hilarity here n there. :)
Category: Animation

Genre: Comedy / Family

Director: Nathan Greno, Byron Howard

Writer: Jacob Grimm, Wilhem Grimm

Producer: Walt Disney Animation Studios, Walt Disney Pictures

Cast: Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, Donna Murphy, Ron Periman, M.C. Gainey, Jeffrey Tambor, Brad Garrett, Paul Tompkins, Richard Kiel and more

Tagline: They're taking adventure to new lengths.

The beautiful magically 70 feet long haired "Princess" Rapunzel spent her whole life in a tower and she is very curious of the outside world. specially aout the floating lights which happens once a year during her birthday. She feels the connection and dreams to see it up close and personal one day. She was taken captive by Gothel whom she thinks of as her mother and she loves her dearly and innocently and she believes that Gothel is only after her best interest. One day she decided to go out and explore while Gothel was away and stumbled upon a runaway thief and off to set in a world filled with places waiting to be discovered...

A remake of the famous Rapunzel. I like the lanterns, floating lights. It's a fantabulous thing. I enjoyed the whole film. Specially the musical scores. There are lots of fun, silly moments with Rapunzel as she discovers things that are new for her. Its a wonderful film for the family and a great mix for both boys and girls to enjoy. :)

FUnny Quotes:

Rapunzel: So mother, earlier I was saying tomorrow is a really big day, and you didn't really respond, so I'm just gonna tell you: IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! Tada!
Mother Gothel: No no no, can't be. I distinctly remember, your birthday was last year.
Rapunzel: That's the funny thing about birthdays, they're kind of an annual thing.

Rapunzel: [Sung] I could go running/ and racing/ and dancing/ and chasing/ and leaping/ and bounding/ hair flying/ heart pounding/ and splashing/ and reeling/ and finally feeling/ now's when my life begins!

Quotes I Like:

Rapunzel: I've been looking out of a window for eighteen years, dreaming about what I might feel like when those lights rise in the sky. What if it's not everything I dreamed it would be?
Flynn Rider: It will be.
Rapunzel: And what if it is? What do I do then?
Flynn Rider: Well, that's the good part I guess. You get to go find a new dream.

Rapunzel: [singing] Flower gleam and glow. Let your powers shine. Make the clock reverse. Bring back what once was mine. Heal what has been hurt. Change the fates' design. Save what has been lost. Bring back what once was mine, What once was mine...
Category: Movie

Genre: Classic

Director: Sidney Lumet

Writer: Paddy Chayefsky

Producer: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), United Artists and more

Cast: Peter Finch, Faye Dunaway, William Holden, Robert Duvall, Wesley Addy, Ned Beatty, Arthur Brughardt, Bill Burrows, John Carpenter, Jordan Charney and more

Tagline: Prepare yourself for a perfectly outrageous motion picture!

The corporate structure of the UBS Television network is changing. Meanwhile, Howard Beale, the aging news anchor of UBS, is losing his once strong ratings share and so UBS decides to fire him. Beale reacts to it in an unexpected way which affected the ratings of the network.

Saw a trailer of this movie over youtube, actually a clip and i found it interesting and decided to check it out. Indeed it is a classic. It deals with the subject of television and programming and how it is far becoming a source of mass madness. Also it is also how TV networks are working right now....

Its also an answer to the question of: "How can one individual influence society when the individual is influenced by society itself."

It is tricky right? :)

Classic and needs creative thinking whenever you watch this film. I love the script! :)

LINES I LIKE...

Howard Beale: I don't have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It's a depression. Everybody's out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel's worth, banks are going bust, shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter. Punks are running wild in the street and there's nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there's no end to it. We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat, and we sit watching our TV's while some local newscaster tells us that today we had fifteen homicides and sixty-three violent crimes, as if that's the way it's supposed to be. We know things are bad - worse than bad. They're crazy. It's like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don't go out anymore. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we are living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, 'Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my steel-belted radials and I won't say anything. Just leave us alone.' Well, I'm not gonna leave you alone. I want you to get mad! I don't want you to protest. I don't want you to riot - I don't want you to write to your congressman because I wouldn't know what to tell you to write. I don't know what to do about the depression and the inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street. All I know is that first you've got to get mad. You've got to say, 'I'm a HUMAN BEING, God damn it! My life has VALUE!' So I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell, 'I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!' I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell - 'I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Things have got to change. But first, you've gotta get mad!... You've got to say, 'I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Then we'll figure out what to do about the depression and the inflation and the oil crisis. But first get up out of your chairs, open the window, stick your head out, and yell, and say it: "I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!"

Max Schumacher: You need me. You need me badly. Because I'm your last contact with human reality. I love you. And that painful, decaying love is the only thing between you and the shrieking nothingness you live the rest of the day.
Diana Christensen: Then, don't leave me.
Max Schumacher: It's too late, Diana. There's nothing left in you that I can live with. You're one of Howard's humanoids. If I stay with you, I'll be destroyed. Like Howard Beale was destroyed. Like Laureen Hobbs was destroyed. Like everything you and the institution of television touch is destroyed. You're television incarnate, Diana. Indifferent to suffering; insensitive to joy. All of life is reduced to the common rubble of banality. War, murder, death are all the same to you as bottles of beer. And the daily business of life is a corrupt comedy. You even shatter the sensations of time and space into split seconds and instant replays. You're madness, Diana. Virulent madness. And everything you touch dies with you. But not me. Not as long as I can feel pleasure, and pain... and love.
Max Schumacher: And it's a happy ending: Wayward husband comes to his senses, returns to his wife, with whom he has established a long and sustaining love. Heartless young woman left alone in her arctic desolation. Music up with a swell; final commercial. And here are a few scenes from next week's show.
Category: Animation

Genre: Adventure / Comedy

Director: Kelly Asbury

Producer: Touchstone Pictures, Rocket Pictures, Arc Productions, Miramax Films

Writer: Rob Sprackling, John R. Smith

Cast: James McAvoy, Emily Blunt, Ashley Jensen, Michael Caine, Matt Lucas, Jim Cummings, Maggie Smith, Jason Statham, Ozzy Osbourne, Stephen Merchant, Patrick Stewart, Julie Walters, Hulk Hogan, Kelly Asbury, Richard Wilson and more.

Tagline: Everyday they sit and wait. But when we're away their adventure begins.

It's a very interesting remake of the story Romeo and Juliet. There are two neighboring gardens one of the Montague and Capulet who are currently at war, but the two gnomes, Gnomeo (voice of James McAvoy) and Juliet (voice of Emily Blunt) are in love. They both have many challenges to overcome as their parents are caught up in a family feud. Will they find lasting happiness?

It's a refreshing take of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet where imaginations grow wild when they used garden gnomes and garden decors. Definitely something for the kids and the young-at-heart. Entertaining and fun. It was fun to see the respectable actors on the line-up... yay! Hilarious as well!

Quotes I Like:

Juliet: Oh, Gnomeo, Gnomeo, are we really doomed to never see each other again? Why must you wear a blue hat? Why couldn't it be red like my father, or green like... like a leprechaun... or purple like, ummm, like some weird guy - I mean what's in a gnome? Because you are blue, my father sees red, and because I am red, I am feeling blue. Oh, at any rate that shouldn't be the thing to keep us apart, should it?
Gnomeo: No, no, it shouldn't! I couldn't have said it better myself!
Juliet: Oh, my giddy aunt, did you just hear all that? What are you doing here?
Gnomeo: I don't know! I just wanted to, uh
Gnomeo: , I just wanted to see you again!
Juliet: Are you crazy? If my dad finds you he'll bury you under the patio!
Gnomeo: 'Finds me', are you joking? 'Stealth' is my middle name!
[Steps on the button which sets off a display of bright lights]
Harry, Ron and Hermione continues their search for Voldemort's (the Dark Lord) remaining Horcruxes, the magical items that are responsible for his immortality.

I almost did not want to watch the final film of Harry Potter... because I'll miss the wait of the next film. Boohoo. But, yeah after a few delays I saw it with my sister. This is the darkest among the films. Cinematography was great..... although the movie was great, it could've been better specially if the "emotional impact" was well thought out of. Specially, if the director knows everyone is already emotional since this will be the last film and all.

I won't delve into details... but its definitely a movie everyone should watch.

But, since this is my favorite series... haha. I am definitely giving it a 5.... :)
Category: Movie

Genre: Chick Flick

Director: Daniel Barnz

Writer: Daniel Barnz, Alex Flinn

Producer: CBS Films, Storefront Films

Cast: Alex Pettyfer, Vanessa Hudgens, Mary-Kate Olsen, Justin Bradley, Dakota Johnson, Erik Knudsen, Karl Graboshas, Peter Krause and more.

Tagline: Love is never ugly. It's what's underneath.

Kyle (Alex Pettyfer) is a vain, obnoxious, rich guy who always gets what he wants and often plays like he owns everything and can do anything. He plays a prank on a fellow high student, Kendra (Mary-Kate Olsen), not knowing she is a witch who wants to teach him a lesson by putting a curse on him. Making him as beastly on the outside as he is on the inside. He was given a year to find someone to fall in love with him or forever look like a beast.

This is a modern take of Beauty and the Beast. I haven't read the book so, I cant say if it really did justice to the book. However i can hear a lot of reports that it was quite disappointing. But, to those who did not get to read the book, it's not really that bad. Although, you know where the story is heading that one day the heroine will fall in love with him even though he looks beastly. Overall I recommend it for light entertainment. And in the category of chick flicks. :)
Big mouth. Big City. Big Heart. Big problems.

After the summer flair, Lizzie Nichols is in New York City looking for a job and a place to live. Summer Fling, Luke offered for them to live together, and she was just happy to move in with the love of her life. With that covered, she still has to look for a job and wasn't that lucky and as usual her big mouth gets her into another fiasco...

It's a good continuation from the first book. It was a light read and entertaining. It's a good book to pass the time.
Genre: Chick Literature

Author: Meg Cabot

Lizzie Nichols is blowing her college graduation money on a trip to visit her long-distance boyfriend (of three months), named Andrew instead of using it as a down payment for a cute apartment in Manhattan after graduating and finding a well paying job. Everyone thinks she's going crazy. However when she got to London it wasn't what she was expecting to happen and got herself into trouble. Fortunately, her best friend Shari, is spending her summer in south of France which is just a train ride away, with her boyfriend Chaz in a 16th century chateau.

What’s an American girl with a big mouth—but an equally big heart—to do?

It was fun and light. There were some Rated PG-18 scenes. Haha. I kind of was shocked to find teensy weensy Jude Deveroux-ish scene here... but of course... she made it light and humorous... which is still a Meg Cabot flair.

Genre: Extraterrestrial

TV Network: History Network

The Evidence, The Visitors, The Mission, Closer Encounters, The Return.

If ancient aliens visited Earth, what was their legacy, and did they
leave behind clues that exist in plain sight such as sophisticated
aircraft, complex electrical grids, and intricate construction
machinery? Indian Sanskrit texts, dating back to 6000 B.C., describe in
varying but vivid detail flying machines called Vimanas. Megalithic
stone structures in Egypt reveal evidence of precision saw work.
Interpretations of the Jewish Zohar writings offer depictions of a
life-sustaining manna machine, eerily similar to chlorella algae
processing systems today. Are these examples of modern technology, or is
there evidence that these incredible mechanisms existed on Earth
thousands of years ago? - from History

Mindboggling series. What seemed a taboo is becoming more and more not so tabboo..... Great great series. Which opens people to the possibilities of extraterrestrials. This would annoy the unbelievers and some would still contest that this is just sensationalized.

Well, we'll see. But, more and more people are watching this and talking about aliens isn't something people just brush it off aside anymore. Good thing, they made the series very interesting. And is really something that the teenagers enjoy watching... specially us adults. Oh and also kids. :)

For all ages. But definitely not to the conservatives... because most of the topics are also subject to debate... so yeah.

Remeber.... just listen to what you feel is true for you. :)
Category: Books

Genre: Fiction / Thriller

Author: Nelson Demille

For 4 Decades, Western intelligence agents knows about a terrible secret. World War II may have been over but the secrets remain. The Russian planted a mole inside the CIA with the code name: Talbot. Different theories were explored. Then a street smart ex cop, named Tony Abrams begins to uncover the danger that lies ahead as everyone looks blindly for Talbot who can be anyone.

What started as a simple spy hunt became a desperate battle
to save United States of America. Is an intricate web of lies and deception. The highest
betrayal of a nation. For forty years Western Intelligence agents have known a
terrible secret.

Ever since I read Nelson Demille’s Charm School
I have committed myself to read his books. And I had fun in the middle page of
the book where the action really began. It’s like I couldn’t put the book down
as I was already engrossed with reading and wanting to know what would happen
in the end. It's an interesting read and an interesting mix of an ex cop and the CIA guys. Good read for those into spies. :)

Quote I Like:

There are basically 5 ways to hunt - baiting, trapping, stake-outs, beating the bush and decoying. It depends on the animal you're after, the season of the year, and the terrain. With the human animal you can use all methods in any season and terrain. Just keep in mind that when the human animal approaches, he may take any form, including the guise of a friendly animal. He may have a cheery hello or ask for a cigarette.

Genre: Action / Adventure

Writer: Brian Helgeland

Director: Ridley Scott

Producer: Universal Pictures, Imagine Entertainment, Relativity Media
Cast: Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Max Von Saydow, William Hurt, Mark Strong, Oscar Isaac, Danny Huston, Eileen Atkins, Mark Addy, Matthew Macfayden, Kevin Durand, Scott Grimes and more.

Tagline: The untold story behind the legend.

My favorite century, 13th (because of the number) in England, Robin Longstride and his hood confront the corruption in a local village which lead into the uprising of different lords and barons against the crow.

I love the movie. That I can probably watch it over and over again. I know a lot of things were not exactly "real" or wasn't based on history and other flaws... however from someone who doesn't pick up with history and tis and tat... it's still a good movie to watch. Great acting and cinematography. It has some parts that were emotional and were somehow thought provoking.

Please relax on the history. Of course to historians or people who are particular about things like that it's a disappointment.

Quotes I Like:

Robin:
If you're building for the future, you need to keep your foundations
strong, laws of the land enslave the people to a king who demands
loyalty but offers nothing in return, I've been to the South of France,
Palestine and back, you build a kingdom the same way you build a
cathedral from the ground up!

Robin:
Rise and rise again until lambs become lions.
Tagline: Some friends just fit together.

Carmen travels with her friend Julia at Vermont for a play, Lena also travels for a course in drawing, Bridget travels to an archaeological dig in Turkey while Tibby is working over at a video rental and editing her documentary. Each on their own travels, setting off in another chapter of their journey as they send the "pants" via mail to each other and sharing their experiences.

I enjoyed the characters.... I enjoyed the traveling part a lot. And of course the friendship they shared. ;) This is a wonderful heart warming movie about friends.... and girls all weaved into one movie. :) Of course the scenes in Greece was my favorite part. :)

Carmen:
Sometimes I like to think that the pants got lost on purpose. That this
was their final gift to us. Bringing us back together. Back to a place
of forgiveness, and love, and in understanding that what we shared was
all the magic we could ever need. And as we spent those last few moments
of summer, looking out at the blending of sea and sky, I realized it
was a color I knew very well. The softly faded, essential blue of a well
worn pair of pants. The pants had brought us together again. The rest

Category: Movie

Genre: Fantasy / Adventure

Director: Martin Campbell

Writer: Greg Berlanti, Michael Green

Producer: Warner Bros. Pictures, De Line Productions, DC Entertainment

Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Tim Robbins, Jay O. Sanders, Taika Waititi, Angela Bassett, Mike Doyle and more

Tagline: One of us.. becomes one of them.

A test pilot, named Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) was granted a mystical green ring that gives him superhuman powers. The source of power is from the Green Lantern Intergalactic Corps and he was admitted as member of the peace keeping squad of the universe.

I watched this with the LEAP Team. Which makes it great. We all came from our graduation weekend somewhere in Antipolo and our Coaches and our co-Leapers were with us to bond.

This movie sure has similar indications about the "Galactic Federation of Light" which makes it really cool for me. I'm not much of a comic fan... but I've heard the movie sticked to the story based on the comic. The movie isn't that amazing... however it brought a deep storyline about fear and will of humans.

Quotes I Like:

Tomar-Re: Billions of years ago, a race of immortals harnessed the most powerful force in existence: the emerald energy of willpower. These immortals, the Guardians of the Universe, built a world from where they could watch over all of existence: the planet Oa. They divided the universe into 3600 sectors, a ring powered by the energy of will was sent to every sector of the universe to select a recruit. In order to be chosen by the ring, it is said that one must be without fear. Together, these 3600 recruits formed the intergalactic peacekeepers known as the Green Lantern Corps.

Hal Jordan: The one thing a Green Lantern is supposed to be is fearless. That isn't me...
Carol Ferris: You have the ability to overcome fear!

Tomar-Re: Your will turns thought into reality. To master the ring you must learn to focus your will and create what you see in your mind. The ring's limits are only what you can imagine.

Hal Jordan: What is that?
Tomar-Re: It is the energy generated from the central battery. It's power comes from the will of every living creature in the universe. This in turn charges your lantern which in turn charges your ring. Even your suit is comprised entirely of energy.
Hal Jordan: What's with all the green?
Tomar-Re: Green is the color of will. The guardians harnessed will because it is the strongest source of energy in the universe.

Hal Jordan: He said the ring would have not chosen me if it hadn't seen something. But I don't see it.
Carol Ferris: I see it. I always have. The ring did not see that you are fearless. It saw that you have the ability to over come fear. It saw that you are courageous. And you are, just like your dad.

Hal Jordan: You know... there is a saying in my planet, we say 'I am only human'. We say it because we are vulnerable, we say it because we are afraid, but that does not mean that we are weak.

Hector Hammond: How wonderful that all it took for you to grow is the end of the world!

Tomar-Re: Of all the Lanterns who have ever worn the ring, there was one whose light shined brightest. At first his humanity was thought to be a weakness, and yet it proved to be his greatest strength.

Sinestro: Though his time wearing the ring has has been brief, Hal Jordan's defeat of Parallax will be remembered as long as the Corps exists. His actions are a reminder of why the ring chose each of us - to overcome fear, and destroy evil wherever it may hide. As Lanterns we must fight with all our will. Our wills have not always been united. It's time they were.

Genre: Drama / Romance

Director: David Gordon Green

Writer: David Gordon Green

Producer: Crossroad Films, Snow Blower Productions, True Love Productions

Cast: Kate Beckinsale, Sam Rockwell, Michael Angarano, Jeanetta Arnette, Griffin Dunne, Nicky Katt, Tom Noonan, Connor Paolo, and more.

Tagline: Some will fall. Some will fly.

This is a somewhat family drama set in a small town where almost everybody knows each other. This interweaves the life of Arthur who is a teenager, and his old baby sitter, Annie(Beckinsale), Annie's estranged husband, Glenn (Rockwell) and their daughter (Tara).

I find this quite a dark movie... however it was excellently done. With all the acting that can really bring you to tears or probably even engulfing your heart sadly. Good thing that the director made things quite light with the budding teenage romance between Arthur and Lila. Great writing and directing.

Director: Rob Marshall

Tagline:

Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp) and Barbossa embarks on a journey to find the "fountain of youth", and crosses paths with a woman from his past Angelica (Cruz), and not sure if he is really in love or whether she's just being her usual self a con artist who is just using him to find the "Fountain of Youth". He then finds out that she is the daughter of the Legendary and formidable pirate Blackbeard (McShane) and finds himself in an unexpected adventure.

The goofy pirate we have all come to love returns on this mystical adventure... I like the presence of the mystical creatures... mermaids..... Hehe. They are dangerously sexy... .This was also a momentous time in my life as this was my first time to watch a movie "alone" in a cinema. Haha. One of my LEAP action plans. :)

I love the chemistry of the actors.... and the funny antics of Sparrow... it was never boring... it was either humorous or just action packed.

Its not the best of the Pirates of the Caribbean series though. I still like the 3rd installment better. Haha. ;)

FUNNY LINES

Jack Sparrow: You lied to me by telling me the truth?
Angelica: Yes.
Jack Sparrow: Thats good! May I use that?

Captain Teague: I heard where you're headed. The Fountain.
Jack Sparrow: Have you been there?
Captain Teague: Does this face looks like it's been to the Fountain of Youth?
Jack Sparrow: ...Depends on the light.

Angelica: [Jack turns to leave] Wait! I'm with child... it's yours.
Jack Sparrow: I don't remember...
Angelica: You were drunk.
Jack Sparrow: I don't think I've ever been that drunk.
Nanny McPhee arrives to help a young struggling mother named Isabel (Maggie Gyllenhaal) who is trying to run the family farm while her husband is oversees at war, and also juggling 2 rich & very spoiled niece/nephew who were asked to stay due to the war. Nanny McPhee uses her magic to teach the children five new lessons.
I enjoyed this magical, lovely well-written movie and it's really one good film for the kids. Also... I cried in most parts... T_T. I love the lessons that was placed... I love the cinematography .. the candy colored scenes... It was just perfectly fun and magical... :)
Category: Book

Genre: Corporate

Author: Gerald A. Browne

Andrew Gainer's sister was murdered one day and he swore that he will avenge the murder of his sister together with his lover, Leslie. Gainer then joins a cabal operated by a master strategist. Racing through Manhattan, Zurich and Paris, this is a pulsing, sophisticated thriller.

It took me awhile to really get on with the story.... but however once I picked up it just went on and led me to a story of vast amount of money, greed, revenge and murder.
Category: TV Series

Genre: Action / Drama

Federal Agent Jack Bauer can't afford to always play by the rules. As a member of the L.A. Counter Terrorist Unit, Jack must stop bombs, viruses, assassination attempts, and usually save someone he cares about at the same time. Every season of this series has 24 episodes, each unfolding in real time following a consecutive hour in one very bad day.

Justice for the past or retribution for the present. Annoyed at Tom Lennox because of his views but later it began to shift and you begin to soften up to him.

Wayne Palmer as President is very admirale at times when he takes full responsibility for his choices/decisions.

This movie sure makes you realize a lot about being a President... that you may have all the answers when you are not sitting on the Presidential chair but then when the full responsibility falls on you.... you never know anything.

I like how the people in CTU look out for each other as a team despite their differences.....

WHAT A MARATHON. Watched this for the whole day with my mom!
Category: Movie

Genre: Asian / Drama

Producer: Star Cinema, Charo Santos, Malou Santos

Director: Olivia Lamasan

Cast: Aga Muhlach, Angel Locsin, Jake Cuenca, Carmi Martin, Ryan Eigennman and more.

Emman Toledo (Muhlach) is ready to go back to the Philippines after being an overseas worker in Japan. Emman, makes a bad move when he was about to go home as he decides to be a mule to the Yakuza seven years ago and was caught by the authorities.

But, he later goes back to the Philippines, struggling financially but was able to open a dance studio. Emman and Mercedes meets as he was to be the dance instructor for the upcoming Governor's Ball as they both reveal their dark and passionate past together.

Gah. Too much drama. I thought it would be a fun movie... similar to chick flicks. But, it became heavy one fourth of the movie and was unbearable and quite predictable at times. Good thing I enjoyed my company when I watched this. I had flu when i went out of the cinema though.
