Aloha Island Coffee Company Bonzai Pipeline Dark Roast is a very mediocre, insipid coffee, rather acidic for a dark roast. The beans are of unknown origin, but if there are any Kona beans in this anonymous mix, they must be the ones other roasters threw out as it doesn't even vaguely taste like Kona. Actually, Aloha Island Coffee Co. isn't even in Hawaii, it's located in Santa Ana, CA, an area not exactly known for great coffee. The coffee is extremely overpriced for the poor quality you get, which is why I gave it one star, and you would be better off buying some of the better brands commonly sold in supermarkets at about one-third the price. I ordered the 2-8 oz bags, but I couldn't even make it through the first one and have thrown the second in the garbage. I would never buy anything from Aloha Island Coffee company again.

I can see why plenty of people will think this is the best coffee ever. It's some of the smoothest, least bitter coffee I've ever tasted. The aroma is also delicious. Opening the bag and taking a whiff right away is a must if you want to try this.

But I'm the type of coffee drinker who loves it black, so I need a coffee with a rich flavour on its own. I don't wanter bitterness, but I love coffee with kick to it.

I'd call it too mild but that's kind of oversimplifying it. It's worth a try to make up your own mind though.

I'm more of a tea drinker but occasionally want something different and I like this to keep me up or wake me up too. So, keep in mind I haven't tasted lots of coffees. I find most coffees bitter and gross, like starbucks or whatever my mom buys. With some splenda I actually enjoy this, so even if you don't like coffee give this a try. It's definitely one of the better one.

Plenty hot, but not a lot of coffee (don't use your mammoth "venti" cup, unless you use 2 of each disk, and even then...), it's nice to havethe option of using just the espresso disk if you need a jolt.

First of all, it is wonderful to have these pods delivered to my door free of charge. On auto delivery, they are cheaper than the cheapest Senseo pods that I have found (Target/Walmart). But check out the weight of coffee per Senseo pod vs. this particular Baronet coffee pod. Not all Baronet pods are this weight, however, so check out the products carefully. I guess I had better mention that the coffee flavor is great! One order is for three boxes of these pods.

These pods are sized between the original Senseo pods and the double pods (such as the Cappuccino type), thus requiring a filter size that is in between, otherwise you get weak coffee. I have a single cup machine that came with three sizes of filters. The middle size filter works miracles for the flavor of coffee made with these pods, but have not succeeded in making robust flavored coffee with the Philips machine.

This isn't a negative review of the pods, but of the listing. I can't seem to find any reference to what coffee systems these pods work with. I have a Starbucks espresso system that uses Starbuck pods. I also have a Senseo which uses Senseo (and other brand) pods. It is going to be a tough sell here if you don't show what systems the pods were designed for.

I like a medium to light roast of coffee with good flavor. This hits the spot. Individually wrapped pods are very convenient and keep the coffee fresh. I give the product only four stars because it is a bit of a hassle. Containing 10 g of coffee, the pod is a bit too full to fit easily in the one cup pod holder. The lid is hard to close and occasionaly pops open when brewing making a big mess. I tried the 2 cup pod holder but the fit is too loose and the coffee produced is too weak. I find that if I wet the pod before placing it in the 1 cup holder and then mush it around a bit, it is easier to close the lid. Since I started wetting the pods I have not had the lid pop open.

I wish they had a slightly richer flavor, but that's a problem with all water process decaf, so I can't blame them... it has plenty of flavor, just not that sweet depth that I love, which the Senseo dark roast caffeinated pods do have, but they make me jittery.

"Spotty results with Senseo machine & flavor is only so-so" 2010-01-22

I don't see that these pods are advertised as fitting the Senseo machine so I'm not rating them lower--wouldn't be fair. One out of 4 or 5 times, I get a satisfactory cup of coffee--the other times, I get mostly water and a few drops of dark coffee at the end of the cycle. So I'm mostly rating them here for taste, which I think is pretty artificial vanilla-y.

I use the 2-cup pod holder with the Senseo (these pods do NOT fit in the 1-cup holder, as they're fatter than Senseo pods and rounded on both sides), and use the one-cup button. I actually get better coffee by using the two-cup button -- it seems that the one-cup button doesn't get the hot water pushed sufficiently through the pod. Aggravating when I use half milk and only want the amount of coffee that is made with the one-cup button.

I won't buy these again.

Neither the coffee itself nor the hazelnut flavor are bold, which was a disappointment for me at first. My initial reaction was that I was getting a weak cup of coffee. However, over time I realized that I could drink this daily, whereas I cannot drink some of the "bolder" hazelnut coffees daily without growing sick of the flavor. So "weak" becomes "mild." It's very drinkable, but if you're looking for bold flavor, keep looking.

I'm very disappointed this this product. The coffee taste bland. I'm surprised Godiva collaborated with such a poor product. Had I known that this is a Senseo product I would never have bought it. The flavor isn't rich even when I brew the 7 oz cups. There a slightly sour after taste. All in all, its a great deal for the money. But if you're into coffee, its probably not something you would want to put yourself through.

We've ordered two of these boxes and I'm about to get a third. At home, I use Illy loose grounds exclusively and do all the measuring and tamping and whatnot myself so I can feel all Barista-ey. But in our second home, we use these pods. They stay fresh, there's no mess, there's no fuss, and they taste great. Get the 100% Arabica verion; it's worth the extra few bucks.

Both the 100% Arabica and the Espressione Espresso are excellent for espresso drinks. Traditionally espresso, unlike good drip coffee, is made with a mix of Arabica and Robusta coffees. The taste differences are noticeable, but I don't have a strong favorite. I use the pods for convenience, although I also roast my own green beans for espresso as well.

If you look at the negative reviews, they're mostly on the "best before" dates being passed. While I would also be upset to spend money and get "expired" pods, I should point out that the pods are good for quite some time after their nominal expiration dates. I just found a handful of these Espressione Classic pods with 2002 (this is late 2009 now) dates and they made acceptable, though not spectacular espresso. Basically they're vacuum packed and not much is happening inside the wrapper.

I have fallen in total love with these pods! I've been getting another brand pod for my machine, and thought I'd try something different. I found these pumpkin & spice and thought I'd give them a try, as they fit my Senseo machine. Got them today, and, oh boy, what a wonderful cup of coffee! I can best describe the flavor as a light taste of pumpkin pie. I use sugar-free coffee syrup, half a cup of skim milk, and fill the rest of the cup with the coffee -- it tastes like I'm eating dessert. What a great thing for someone like me who is watching their weight!

To use in the Senseo machine, you use the two-pod holder (instead of the one-pod holder) and the Java Pod fits right down in it.

As I'm writing this, I see that these pods are not available right now -- I wanted to order another box....or ten. Amazon, please get these back in stock before I run out!! I'm going to want these year round and not just during the holidays, as I love spiced pumpkin in any form or fashion!

UPDATE: Just a note that, in order to get plenty of coffee flavor out of the pod, you need to use the 2-cup/mug BUTTON on the Senseo machine, along with the 2-cup pod holder. I made the mistake of using the 1-cup button, as I only wanted a small cup of coffee, but more time is needed (provided by the 2-cup button) to push the water through the coffee in the pod. The combination of the 2-cup holder and the 2-cup button will give you a large cup of coffee with good strength -- I just use half to make my latte, which is half milk, and save the other half for later, which works for me just fine.

This is my second order of Timothy's Coffee Pods, and last time I ordered the Hazelnut flavor, which was not available this time around.

Here is what I love about this product:

1. They are in individual, foil sealed packets. I am single and do not drink enough coffee to keep the open container fresh. And they look great in the basket...

2. The flavor of the coffee is exactly what I like...warm and flavorful. I do not like strong coffee. I do not like bitter coffee. I add cream and sugar to my coffee. I am not a coffee snob. But my guests seem to like it too.

3. Here at Amazon, I can buy in bulk and have it delivered to my door. Two nice boxes of coffee. Sealed for flavor. Ready when I am.

The price is a little more than at the stores for the small packages, but the flavors are limited at the store and the convenience factor is not there.

I have been using senseo coffee pods for the past 4 years, and after reading some reviews about the weight of senseo coffee pods (less than 7g) and this coffee pods (10g each), I have decided to give this a try. I was hoping to use this pod to create a 8oz coffee (since this pod has 3g more than senseo). However, it has no flavor at all (taste like water). So I started to use it to create 4 oz coffee (hoping to get a better result). In my opinion, it still has no flavor. If you are a senseo coffee pods regular user like me, and want to save some money using a bigger pod, this is probably not a choice for you. Amazon do not take grocery return, so you won't be able to return it (now I am stuck with 50 pods I don't like).
