Children becomes the parent......

Kids to the parent....

"Mommy, you are always with your laptop. You don't have time for anything else. How do you know if we are studying? You are either not here, or whenever you are, you are on your computer and do really know if we are studying".

Husband to wife.....

"Why do you need to spend so much time on your computer? Can you just shut it down and get some sleep? Why can't you do that or this when you are sitting staring at your laptop?".

Self to self....

"Why am I wasting so much time being online? What am I getting out of reading FB updates or posting updates for someone else to comment?

For someone who takes pride in reading or learning something new each day, the important question is, "What have you learned lately?" Not much, I guess.

Yes, Facebook is a great medium for communication. For connecting between friends all over the world. But being obsesssed with it, is a disease, that needs to be cured. Getting myself cured of this cancer, so....

"Kiddoos... Can you please change the password for my facebook account? Don't tell me what the password is. Probably on Sundays, you can login and let me see the updates for a few minutes. But beyond that it is not necessary. Please don't tell me the password."......

So locking myself out and throwing away the key.... Will wait for the key to be found at a later day and get the lock opened for some time....

Yes, I do have means to publish/share on my FB thru Tweets ( I turned off the Posterous autoposts), but hey... I cannot see what you gotta say until the ones who hold the key want me to.....

Believe me, it is liberating....

For you and for me.... :)

" I am a tough person, you know. Not easy to please.", she said.

Was she looking for a comfort?

Maybe, someone to say, "No, you're not. You're just a perfectionist."

Well, dream on. That's not gonna happen.

For, he said, "I know, I've been living with you".

Oh well, you are what you are....... deal with it.

As we walking out of the car parking of the super market, someone was smiling from the distance. A mother, and two kids - a boy and a girl.

"Hareesh's parents, right?", the mother asked, as we were wondering who it was.

"Yes", I said.

"This is Nikhil, from Hareesh's school", she explained. "They have been to programs together. He is a big fan of Hareesh", she added.

"Oh, Nikhil, the quiz champion", I exclaimed with the excitement of making a connection.

The conversation then went into the obvious topic of studies, exams etc and then we went separate ways.

As we were walking away, I told my husband. " Earlier the kids were known as "our children". Now we are known as "their parents".

Strange, but it is a good feeling.

Hope we continue to be known as our kids parents and they are known for something good. God bless.
