CognatrixImporter version 1.3 has been released. CognatrixImporter is now a universal binary and is supported on Mac OS X 10.4.5 or later. This version is functionally identical to version 1.2. There is no need to download it unless you wish to deploy CognatrixImporter on an Intel-based Macintosh.

CognatrixImporter reads thesaurus data expressed in XML and writes it into a Cognatrix thesaurus document. CognatrixImporter currently understands Cognatrix, Zthes, APAIS and TermTree formats. The importer builds a model of the thesaurus in memory and performs consistency checks. For example: if A is related to B, then B must be related to A; and the relationship pair must satisfy tests for reciprocity. As such, CognatrixImporter is a valuable analysis tool in its own right. The importation process is driven by XML-based plugins so it is also possible for the end user to either customize the existing plugins or create additional plugins from scratch.
