Clean Writer Pro - coming soon on a Mac near you

Clean Writer for Mac was started as a simple, minimalist, text-only editor. Over the year it got huge improvements such as themes, various font styles, import from rtf format. It was even enriched with rtf editing and basic formatting, as well as import capabilities for MSWord(TM) documents and other file formats.

Now I am thrilled to announce the next episode.

Clean Writer Pro for Mac is the newest and best in the clean writing family. It takes all the features and design of Clean Writer and brings more: extra stability, improved performance, UI improvements and awesome new features introduced at your special requests. All these good news come with a sad one

I am extremely saddened to announce the discontinuation of the previous app, Clean Writer for Mac. I will instead refocus my development efforts onto its offspring, Clean Writer Pro, which will continue to be supported, maintained and upgraded in the foreseeable future. The original Clean Writer, while still a great app and the best for its price, will no longer be updated and will remain in the AppStore only for backup purposes - to allow existing customers to re-download it if necessary.

Why?

When I started a regular software company instead of my sole proprietorship, I was hoping to migrate existing AppStore apps(such as Clean Writer) to the new developer account, to continue offering support to existing customers. Sadly, after a few months of emails to Apple, I was instructed that the only way to migrate existing apps to a new developer account is by creating a new app altogether - forcing me to stop supporting previous customers. This is what I am doing, and I am sorry. This is how life is, some times.

Price?

Clean Writer Pro will cost $5.99, bringing the best value for your money in the distraction free text editors category, with awesome new great features (and even more yet to come). That’s less than two cups of Iced Caramel Macchiato at your local Starbucks. Just saying.

The day of the launch has been set and is planned someday in the week of November 21st 2011 -> November 27th 2011.
