The 1982 D Small Date Memorial Cent is only worth one cent unless it is struck on a copper (bronze) planchet that weighs at least 3.0 grams. Only two have been found struck on a 3.07 planchet, so they’re extremely rare, one sold for over $10,000 and the first discovery sold for $18,000.

The 1982 Lincoln Cents are the most confused date in the Lincoln Cent series because there are 7 different types, 8 different if you include the small date on a bronze planchet. And they’re as follows: Large Date and small date, with a D mint mark for Denver Mint and no mint mark for the Philadelphia Mint and West Point Mint, and half were struck on copper plated zinc planchets that weigh 2.5 grams and the other half on 3.11 grams copper planchet.

However, a mistake was made, the 1982 D small Date was supposed to be struck on copper plated zinc planchet that weighs 2.5 grams, but two have been found on the copper planchets that weigh over 3.07 grams.

So how do you know if it’s a small date? One way is to hold them side by side and compare them, the small date 2 has a crook, the large date 2 is straight, and the small date 8 has small openings and is more squat than the large date 8. To learn more details watch the video below.

Facebook is actively blocking legitimate numismatic coin auctions on their social media site. If you use certain key words it can be blocked. I have been using the discussion feature instead but when I use a $ symbol Facebook will automatically convert my discussion to a sell format then flag it with a warning inside a red border.

Admins can’t see your auctions when they are in pending if Facebook has flagged them either. So I created a video to show you how to post and not get blocked.
