      Il y a davantage d'idées dans plusieurs têtes que dans une, mais la meilleure façon
      de faire travailler ces têtes ensemble ne fait pas l'unanimité. Dans certains cercles
      d'idéateurs, les séances de remue-méninges interactives ont la cote, en raison, croit-on,
      de la synergie qui se dégage du choc des idées. L'avènement de systèmes de remue-méninges
      électronique a donné une nouvelle dimension à ce mode d'exploration des gisements
      d'idées. Des chercheurs de la Faculté des sciences de l'administration (FSA), Marie-Christine
      Roy, Stéphane Gauvin et Moez Limayem, ont voulu creuser la question en étudiant l'impact
      du type d'information affiché à l'écran sur la productivité de petites équipes virtuelles
      utilisant des systèmes de remue-méninges électronique. 
   </p>
        <p>
          <b>La séance des longs couteaux</b>
        </p>
        <p>
      Des étudiants de la FSA, regroupés en 41 équipes de cinq ou six personnes, ont participé
      à une séance d'idéation d'une durée de 20 minutes au cours de laquelle ils devaient
      imaginer le plus grand nombre d'utilisations différentes d'un couteau. «Nous avons
      choisi cette tâche parce qu'elle est simple et qu'elle n'entrave pas les processus
      que nous voulions véritablement étudier ici», explique Stéphane Gauvin. 
   </p>
        <p>
      Chacune des équipes a été soumise à l'un des trois scénarios suivants: 1) l'écran
      n'affiche que les idées tapées par l'utilisateur de l'ordinateur; 2) même scénario
      qu'en 1 sauf que chacun sait qu'une fois la séance d'idéation terminée, il pourra
      afficher, sur son écran, l'ensemble des idées émises par les membres de son équipe
      et donc évaluer sa performance; 3) l'écran affiche à la fois les idées tapées par
      le participant et celles de ses coéquipiers au fur et à mesure qu'ils les produisent,
      ce qui équivaut à une séance interactive de remue-méninges. Dans tous les cas cependant,
      l'anonymat des idéateurs est préservé, c'est-à-dire qu'il est impossible d'associer
      une idée et son concepteur. 
   </p>
        <p>
          <b>Cogito ego sum</b>
        </p>
        <p>
      Les résultats, rapportés dans le dernier numéro de la revue scientifique Small Group
      Research, montrent que les équipes soumises au scénario 2 (idées du groupe affichées
      à la fin) produisent plus d'idées que les équipes des scénarios 3 et 1. «Notre étude
      vient s'ajouter à toutes celles qui tendent à prouver que les gens participant à des
      séances interactives de remue-méninges sont moins productifs que les équipes dont
      les membres travaillent individuellement, observe Stéphane Gauvin. Mettre des gens
      ensemble et les laisser s'exprimer spontanément sur un sujet en pensant ainsi créer
      une synergie d'où sortira plus d'idées est un mythe.»
   </p>
        <p>
      Les chercheurs ont également noté qu'il y avait un plus faible écart dans le nombre
      d'idées produites par les membres des équipes en interaction continue qu'au sein des
      équipes soumises aux scénarios 1 et 2. «La rétroaction continue crée une sorte de
      nivellement de l'effort (social matching) qui fait que les individus les plus performants
      abaissent leur productivité en fonction de la performance du groupe alors que les
      participants médiocres augmentent la leur.»
   </p>
        <p>
      À la lumière de ces résultats, quelle serait la façon idéale d'harnacher la puissance
      créative d'un groupe d'individus? Il n'y a pas de recette miracle, prévient Stéphane
      Gauvin. Les gens sont plus productifs lorsqu'ils travaillent seuls, mais ils préfèrent
      travailler en équipe. Il semble cependant certain que les remue-méninges à interaction
      continue ne produisent pas la synergie que la théorie leur prête. 
   </p>
        <p>
      Au sein des équipes virtuelles, le fait que chaque participant sache à l'avance qu'il
      va pouvoir comparer, à la fin de l'exercice, sa performance à celle de ses coéquipiers
      a une influence positive sur sa productivité. Enfin, la présence d'individus médiocres
      au sein d'un groupe interactif entraîne une baisse de productivité des individus les
      plus performants. «Le principe est simple, explique le chercheur. Si vous voulez que
      Donovan Bailey abaisse le record mondial du 100 mètres, il ne faut pas le faire courir
      contre moi mais contre les meilleurs athlètes de sa discipline.»

      a kind of Trellis...

      When your computer is connected to the Internet or a network, you can participate
      in shared note-taking sessions with other OneNote users, such as coworkers, classmates,
      or friends. Shared note-taking sessions make it possible for all participants to view
      and edit each other's notes in real time.
   </p>
        <p>
      During a shared note-taking session, you can share one or more specific sections in
      a notebook. Typed text and handwritten digital ink are transmitted in real time, as
      though you are watching a participant work on his or her own computer. You can use
      a telephone or instant messaging to clarify which participants are adding comments
      or editing notes.
   </p>
        <p>
      As a OneNote user, you can either start a new shared note-taking session or join an
      existing session as a participant. When you participate in a shared note-taking session,
      the names of all of the participants are listed in the <b class="ui">Current Live
      Session</b> task pane. If you initiate the shared note-taking session, you can set
      a password for the session, so that only participants who enter the password can join.
   </p>
        <p>
      If you initiate a shared note-taking session, you can select the section that you
      want to share and then invite the participants you want. If OneNote is installed on
      your computer, when you invite others to a shared note-taking session, an e-mail message
      is automatically created that contains the invitation to the session, the IP address
