Nuix will sell up to 1000 annual licenses at a cost of 0 each from 1 December 2011 until 8 February 2011. The company will donate 100% of the proceeds to the charity Room to Read, which works in developing countries to increase literacy skills among primary school children and supports girls to complete secondary school.

Proof Finder has the same processing, search and analysis capabilities as other Nuix eDiscovery and electronic investigation solutions, but with a 10GB data limit.* The software makes email and other unstructured data searchable and enables people to find evidence fast, helping solve electronic investigation and eDiscovery challenges that normally require expensive technology.

“Nuix wants to give something back to the legal and investigation community and also help children in the developing world,” said Nuix CEO Eddie Sheehy. “For 10 weeks, we are asking legal and forensic investigators and analysts to support a great charity by buying a Proof Finder license and then using the tool to solve their sub-10GB cases.”

“Even though the size of their investigations might be small in terms of Nuix’s normal application, it can still be incredibly difficult or even impossible to find evidence without good eDiscovery and electronic investigation technology,” Mr. Sheehy said.

I moved out of an apartment before my lease was up in March 2000. Just two weeks ago, a collection agency started writing and calling me on this account (in February I bought a new car). When they said why they were calling, I stated I wasn't going to disuss the situation with them and hung up. It's been 7 years. Why are they calling now, do they have any ground to stand on, and does my answering the phone restart the 7 years?
I wasn't sure if me answering the phone and actually speaking with them would count as activity. It is NOT on my credit report.
And does the 7 years start from the time I moved out or the time the collection agency bought the account?
