Who would've thought that it would be the last of seven, as opposed to the last of four. I'm sorry, but when my friend Laura - who has a 94 average, is an equestrian of however many years, and a swimmer, and a photographer - told me she didn't get accpeted to SUNY Cornell, I woke up and realized, the chances of me getting in anywhere were very slim. I'm very smart and I got one of the highest SATs in my school, but I felt that even with my vast academic improvement of the last two years, the admissions people at all those schools would only see me as a very smart person who is a slacker. Hopefully, they won't see it that way, but I know the truth - I'm an intelligent person with a great amount of potential that I have not uitlized fully throughout the past four years. My goal now is to utilize the the tools that God has given me to the fullest extent and to make all the students of color that I come in contact with who don't take their academics seriously, realize the importance of quality education.

today i submitted the applications for pace and fordham. The funny thing is, when my mother walked in and I told her I just submitted whatever application I was finishing at the time, she asked "What, NYU?" She forgot that she had already seen last week the very one that she had encourgaed and forced me to submit, get submitted. At that moment, I thought to myself "I could've just told her I submitted it and used the $60 application fee to buy a little something for myslef online, and she wouldn't have even known the difference."
