Stumbling Back

Looking back over this blog, I realize that it still picks up quite a bit of traffic. I'm hoping that perhaps some of these peeps are coming from the former authors. I know it has only been a little over six years since the last post was made, but it feels to me like teaching at Lees-McRae College was a life time ago.

So, hello to those watching this blog. I think something great was created through this project that has immortalized its authors whether they realize it or not. I hope all these one-time students are matured spirits living the dream and, like me, remembering fondly their days in the College Writing class.

The topic I chose to review discusses which is better, a male or female dog. I learned a great deal about the similarities and differences between male and female dogs. With the best essays, the authors gave examples by using experiences they have had with both male and female dogs. The essays that weren't as good and they weren't really organized. If I wrote an essay on this topic, I would support that male dogs are better. This is because every dog I've had has been a male.

The topic I chose to review this time discusses what to expect when getting a new puppy. I learned by reading these that puppies aren't as easy as people think they are. They take a great deal of training and are quite expensive. The author of the best essay explained a great deal of things. This author also compared getting a new puppy to a great deal of things, which makes the truth become reality. With the essay that wasn't the highest ranked, the author didn't really take time to organize the essay as well. the author also didn't make it interesting as much as the best essay was. If I wrote an essay on this, I would probably write similar to how the best writer did. I would compare having a puppy to other things to draw in peoples' attention as well as make it interesting for them.

I reviewed articles on how aggressive dogs can be rehabilitated. I learned from these articles that there are a great deal of ways to rehabilitate aggressive dogs without using Euthanasia. With the best essay, the author used a great deal of organization and writing concepts to make their essay great as well as unique. The lesser essay wasnt as organized and they didnt have supporting facts. If I wrote an article on this topic, I would list the types of ways to rehabilatate dogs as well as explain each step in trying to rehabilitate a dog.

Looking at all these blogs I could see that everyone talked about different things. Like animals, drungs, objects like musical instuments, and even plants. When I look at Tyricee`s stumble I could see where he had questions on how someone can tax a stoner when the person who is selling the drug is not even taxed either. I can understand that question myself

Rashawndra`s stumle on pianos being played virtually is different because I have not seen someone stumble about instruments being played online than it actually being a real object. This person shows the differences of how you can stumble about something different from everyone else. Justin Katz`s stumble is about something that everyone can blog about. Weird and odd animals. Anyone can do that, find an animal they have never seen before and stumble about it and it be something "new" to talk about.

From all the stumbles I have seen I have learned that to blog about something completly different sets you aside from all the other bloggs. Which I have learned to do.

This topic caught my eye from being interesting and even more surprising to me in how the situation played out, along with the fact he didn't even know what was going on in tell it was practically over. I would recommend this stumble to my classmates because it is funny and pretty awesome story to be able to get in a shot of a high profile movie. The topic is interesting and a once and a life time opportunity, along with that it isn't to long making it a great stumble to recommend. As for citing his sources he really didn't have any besides stating were he was since his story is all first hand experience. The main question i would have for him would be if he made the cut or not, but that cant be answered in till the movie is out.

This blog grab my interest with how bizarre that would be to see in a everyday street. The pictures gave you a good idea how it would to be apart of that and to see others reactions. I also learned that they apparently carry huge whales on tractor trailers as well. I would recommend this to my classmates because everyone enjoys hearing about bizarre incidents specially on the scale that this was. Another reason is because it has good pictures and with these sort of times words are never enough. As for citing his sources he did cite the pictures, just not in great detail naming MSNBC and other for his sources. This isn't great citing but is better than nothing. One question i would have would be how long it took to clean up and how long was the smell in the streets.

This stumble is interesting to me because it shows how we are connected through food and it is surprising that some restaurants you would think of only in America and other neighboring modern countries would be spread throughout the world in such high numbers. I think my classmates would like this because it helps you realize how connected the world is now unlike a few hundred years ago. They cite their sources at the bottom left corner. A question I would ask would be what are some other big companies spread throughout the world.

This is interesting and new to me because i haven't seen anyone do this before. He paints himself to blind in or look "invisible" in the surrounding environment. I would recommend this to a class mate because it is entertaining and pretty cool to look at. For citing the sources they give credit to the artist at the top but not to who took the picture. One question I would have is how long it took to paint him?

This link interest me because it has some humor and is also sort of sad in the fact that this person either doesn't know about the Holocaust which is surprising, or he just decided to make fun of it which wasn't the best idea. But the rest of the paper has humor to it. I would recommend this to classmates because it does have humor in it and if they ever wrote a bad paper it wasn't as bad as this one. For citing the source's they didn't really do that because it was suppose to be confidential to the student. One question i would have is how he made it to US history II?

This interest me because it shows how others view Americans as a whole on world knowledge. It's funny because its true on some of the stereotypes not saying that is all majority of Americans think this way. I think my classmates would enjoy it because its funny and true also they can judge for them self if they agree with them. They didn't cite any source's its just a picture you cant tell if they did the picture of found it else were. Well if i was in a relationship i don't think it would work out for me. The reason why is because once you are a cheater always will be a cheater. And if somebody cheats on me i feel like that person really don't care about me and don't love me. So for me i will just end the relationship. But you know some people can work it out, but i can't. Cheating can change a lot of things in a relationship, some of the things it can change is trust and also how you feel about that person. In a relationship you need to be honesty and trust it for it to work out. If you cheat on someone you could have broken that person heart. You should never cheat on anyone because that is a hurtful feeling. Also if you know that you are a cheater i mean why be with that person and you know that you are going to cheat, i mean that is not good. Now if you cheat on someone while you are married i think you should get a divorce because that is so not cool to cheat on someone while you are married. Cheating is not good at all. I learned many things from reading this article it gave me good information and also facts. The other ones didn't give me enough information at all. If you have been cheated on or think someone is cheating on you, you should read this article you will learn a lot from it.

Thanksgiving- secret to enjoy family hoildays: In this article ii said, that the main word in this article is family. Family can also mean many different things. The reason why people have thanksgiving is so that the family can come togther and have a great time. So that everyone can come and get alone with eachother. When familys come togther on hoildays it can be a very happy time and sometimes it can be sad, but it depends. Thanksgivng is just a time to spend time with your family so you can go back and tell your friends how great it was. You can also have a great time and if you do the memory will last forever and you will never forget that day. The reason why i think thanksgiving can be sad for some people is because that family might have had death in there family and they were wishing that person was there, so thanksgiving can be sad for some families you never know. I liked this article because it gave me a lot of information and details. The other ones, i mean they were good but it just didnt give me enough facts so that i can talk about it. I think if thanksgiving is your best hoilday you should read this article it have great information.

The first link I found was a comic that shows why macs are easier to use for those not computer savy. Trying to teach someone who doesnt know how to use a computer what to do on a pc can be very annoying since microsoft doesnt know how to make a straight forward program to use. Or atleast the last time they attempted to make an easy to use program they made windows vista. I want to post this comic but I have a better picture for later on in this post.

My next one is a picture of a sign posted on a door as a joke. The door involved has a sign saying "This door is Alarmed" and under that there is a handmade sign asking "what startled it". its a simple thing but quite funny in the right situation. I'll leave it to you to judge this one in more detail.

Now for a strange link but entertaining if you have a twisted sense of humor like I do. This is a link of AIM statuses that are strange on some level but are entertaining. My first link is of a bildering video. Yes bildering is a word. Its like bouldering but on buildings so its called bildering....... Anyway it was an interesting find to watch someone who learned to climb by imitating monkeys climbing buildings and other man made objects. Im going to let the video do the talking for the rest of this so you can decide for yourself.

The second link is supporting the halloween season by letting you carve a virtual pumpkin. Not really useful for outdoor display with how the weather is here but it was fun to play around with. Its a great time waster if you are bored. Not really mush else to say besides you can carve a pumpkin with out the mess of gutting it first.

The last link is of programs that would be good to use if there was someone using their computer enough to where it becomes annoying. These range anywhere from fake shutdowns to just annoying text boxes. This site could create alot of fun times if you can watch the discovery of these programs.

In this article it also said that ultrasounds was not available long ago, so the only way for the woman to find out what she was having was the old wives' tales that have been passed from generation to generation to predict the gender of the unborn. If you are having a bad morning sickness it means you are having a girl. But man mothers that are having morning sickness can sometimes have a boy. Also in this article it tells you different about symptoms if you are having a boy or a girl. But you real want know what you are having until you go to the doctor and get and ultrasound, Some people try to guess and see what they are having some might be right and sometimes they are wrong. If you want a girl sometimes you go to the doctor and the doctor tells you that you are having a little boy. The doctors might be wrong about telling you what you are having. This is a great article and gives a lot of information and great ideas. The other ones just didn't give good examples. I think you should read this if you are having a baby or wanting to have one.

Is friendship a lifetime?: Some friendships can be a lifetime and some can't. The reason I say that some friendship can't be a lifetime, say if you and that person been friends for a very long time and that person like went with your ex- boyfriend, so now that lifetime friendship that you and that person had is gone. But yall might work it out but it's not gone be the same. Many people find a true friend that have stuck by there side the whole time and was there when they needed them. In the article it said that whether you are unpleasantly thrust apart through unfortunate experiences, or simply through age, the truth is that people tend too grow older and further apart. It doesn't make a friendship less significant, however, knowing that it hasn't or won't last. But people come into our lives for some reason. You should always stay positive in your friendship at all times because that person is here for you for some reason rather you know why or not. Always try to make your friendship last because you might never find a friend like the one you had before. This article gave good details and information. The other ones gave me little information and i didn't get nothing out of those. You should read this article if you want your friendship to last.

Many people have died while having weight loss surgery. Well i think many people have this surgery to lose there fat, and also to make there body look good, but some don't relaize that they are putting themselves into danger. The reason why i liked this article better than the other ones is because it gave me very important facts, and also great details. The other ones didn't really tell me anything and it gave me poor information. But i think whomever is trying to lose weight should read this article because it gives very good information and good details.

Education College and universities and small colleges: College selection process and be very hard for most people. Many people also want to make the right decision for there education and also when they go to college. Some people try to go to smaller colleges. The reason why is because if you go to a smaller college there are fewer people in your classroom, and also teachers can help you more with your education and also your work. While I was reading this article I also learned that people who enjoy small schools are also intimate social environments, and wide open spaces.If you attend a small school teachers and faculty will know your name. But you should choose a school that makes you comfortable. For me I rather attend a small school. The reason why is because its less people in the classrooms, and the teachers can help you more with your and can help you improve your grade. The reason i picked this article is because it gave me a lot of information and also good facts. The other ones didn't give me a lot of information. I think whomever is looking for a good small college or what to know about small colleges should read this article because it gives you good information and also details.

This article I stumbled upon was a “Flu Alert: Fear of a hand sanitizer shortage.” Jennifer Harper wrote it. She says that “a new swine flu culture is descending on America and it’s got us all squealing.” Anglicans fear that getting the vaccine and, alternatively, not getting the vaccine. The Anglicans depend on hand sanitizers to stay clean but the only way to keep germs and bacteria away is to thorley wash your hands and than you can apply hand sanitizer. The Anglicans need to wash there hands and than use the hand sanitizer. You do not need to stop giving people handshakes you just need to wash your hands and carry hand sanitizer with you so when you get done with a handshake put the sanitizer on your hands to kill the germs. I think people are over reacting about the swine flu because yes you may get it and yes you may die but it is not any worse than what getting the flu is. Just take the proper precaution and you will be just fine. But being worried about running out of hand sanitizer is not a big deal because washing your hands is more effective than hand sanitizer. I encourage everyone to protect himself or herself and take precautions and wash there hands frequently.

The last article I stumbled upon was “ Extinct Norfolk Dumpling apple frown again.” This apple, which was last recorded in 1920, has been found growing in the garden is a former rectory. This fruit was thought to have died out almost 90 years ago. The only written record of the Norfolk dumpling, a pale yellowy-green cooking apple with smooth and slightly greasy skin and short season from September to October. As the older trees get older there fruit begins to get smaller. It is amazing what you can discover. People thought that this apple had died off 90 years ago but this garden changed all that. He found a Norfolk apple in his garden and now made headlines in Norfolk. Dr. Kevin Browne was a retired GP but now he takes on the old orchard and walled garden in North Creake in north Norfolk. Dr. Browne has grown more than 50 varieties of apples in his orchard over the last 25 years but nothing like the rare Norfolk Apple. To me this apple looks like a “yellow apple” so I am not sure what is so amazing about it other than it is a rare apple that was thought to have died away 90 years ago. I guess if I lived in Norfolk I would have a different perspective on this apple.

This website says that the scientists believe the two black holes will eventually merge and become one large black hole millions of years from now. It was found in China and the scientists named it Darwinopterus. They believe it is 10 million years older than the first bird. I would recommend this cite to my classmates if they were interested in fossils. This could be a thought of evolution because of these fossils and the others found according to this argument. Are these fossils actually from a different time period than the time period of the first bird?

This first pictures I came across was very weird, it amazing how the people actually come up with this kind of stuff. These particular people must have a lot of time on there hands. I really don't know any of my classmates who would really be interested in this type of picture. The page was not cited at all, and a question I would have is what state highway is the cite on.

This next picture I thought was good, since halloween is coming around the corner. I never seen a costume like this before. I know many of my classmates who like this picture, because some people like to dress the holiday.
