I've been unhappy with Collide lately. I don't feel like I'm doing it the justice it deserves, and I feel stuck drawing it in a style I don't want to draw it in. I don't want know what style I do want to do it in, but this isn't it. It's wrong.

The problem is... If I continued to draw Collide in this style, I'd put myself in a rut. I wouldn't be able to change my art style. And my art style wants to change. It's trying, but it gets dragged backwards whenever I work on Collide. And when I have to take breaks from Collide, my style progresses (only to slide backwards when I start up again).

So, after consulting a few comic friends and voicing my concerns, I've decided to put Collide on hold until I know what to do with it. I'm going try different things, privately, and see what I like.

In the mean time, I'm going to start a new comic project, Strung Out. This one is more nailed down. I know the style I want to use, the script is done, and I know what everything looks like. It's ready to go. It's also shorter than Collide. Maybe I'll be ready for Collide once this one ends.

I am sorry that you all have to wait to know what will happen. I really am. But this is the right thing to do, and Collide will be better for it.

News Update: March 8th

I'm sorry there's no page this week. I spent all weekend, and the past few days working non-stop on papers for school. I have one due today, and 3 due tomorrow, and another due as soon as I can get it done. I'm nearly there, and there will be a page for next week--I'm going to start it as soon as I finish my last paper.

I've never made it a secret that school is my number one priority right now, especially since I'm in my last semester. Bear with me just a few more months. I graduate on May 28th, and that'll be the end of school distractions. Then I'll have a job (we hope!) and will have my evenings and weekends totally free to draw and shower love on you all. And the love will shower. Believe you me.

News Update: February 22nd

Collide's birthday was last week, so go check out the gallery for a fun little drawing I did to celebrate. It's cute.

I am monstrously sick. I can barely sick up, so as soon as this is posted, I'm going back to bed. Forever.

I finished the script for Collide (except for tiny edits I'll always be doing). It's not thumb nailed, so I don't know how long it'll be exactly, but if I had to venture a guess.. I'd say around 50+ chapters. Also, as a direct result of scripting, I reached a conclusion. You can read about it here, or not, and you'll just be really surprised in a few months time; but a direct result of that conclusion will be seen in the next chapter. So no whining. I won't hear it.

News Update

Updating again!!! Aww yiss, I'm excited!! I hope you guys are excited too! I also made a Deviant Art fangroup page for Collide (thanks to prodding from Emi) so the button to that is in the left sidebar, and I also made a like button right above the news here! You just click it, and it updates to your Facebook page (I did it through Facebook, so it's legit).

Here's the deal: I'm in my last year of University, and I really want to graduate, get good grades, and not be a ball of stress. I also want to draw every day and be happy doing that. Unfortunately, I can't do that during the term, I'm learning. If I manage to get a page done, it's usually at the expense of some studying I should have done. Then I'm stressed about how behind I am. So I've decided to not have a comic updating schedule until school ends this term (December 20th ish). If I do find chances to work, I will and then I will update, but I won't hold myself to the Tuesday updates because I just can't. I'm sorry. I really do want to update, but it's outside of my abilities right now to do so regularly. Things are just too busy. Too many research papers, exams, and reading assignments. I'm sure nobody is really surprised--it's kind of been looming over the comic. But it shouldn't last too long, and during my Winter break I plan on getting a big buffer!
