Setenil de las Botegas - A city that is built into a rock (Spain)

Welcome to Setenil de las Botegas. Setenil de las Bodegas is a town (pueblo) in the province of Cádiz, Spain. This town has a distinctive setting along a narrow river gorge. The town extends along the course of the Rio Trejo with some houses being built into the rock walls of the gorge itself, created by enlarging natural caves or overhangs and adding an external wall.

The Giant Rubber Duck of Florentijn Hofman

A giant rubber duck is making a world tour to big harbors such as Osaka, Sao Paolo and Amsterdam. Since May 2nd, the 54 foot duck is floating in the bay of Hong Kong. It was created by Florentijn Hofman and has been an attraction to every harbor it was released.

SS Ayrfield - Floating Forest Grown in an Abandoned Ship

The SS Ayrfield was built in 1911 in the UK. It was later that registered in Sydney, where it was used to transform supplies. Around 1972 the the SS Ayrfield retired in the Homebush Bat were it was left abandoned until today. The only difference from other abandoned ships is that within this one a mini-forest has grown that floats above sea creating a spectacular sight and a tourist attraction.

The Floating House of Lake Huron

In one of North America's Greates Lakes ,Mos has constructed a floating house. In Lake Huron , a 1-bedroom cabin is resting on a steel pontoons platform making it one of the most relaxing places on earth. The platform is designed in a way that allows the house to ride with the fluctuations of the lake. Lake Huron’s water levels vary throughout the year due to changes in season and environmental trends. As a result, any home built around the lake has to take into account the varying water levels.

Alesund - The Art Nouveau town, Norway

Alesund is both a municipality and a city on the North-Western coast of Norway. As you will understand from the photos the city is known for its unique Art Nouveau style architecture that differs from the rest cities in Norway. The story behind this architectual miracle goes back to 1904 where Wihelm II offered his help to the city after it was destroyed by a huge fire. The city was rebuilt in stone, brick, and mortar in Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) and was kept that way until today.

Cano Cristales - The Rainbow River of Colombia

Continuing our journey to unique places around the world we are going to Columbia and the "River of Five Color" or "Rainbow River" or "Liquid Rainbow". So many names follow the Cano Cristales river. The river names comes due to the algae produced colors like red, yellow, green, blue and black at the bottom of the river giving it a unique appearance.

From Wikipedia:For most of the year, Caño Cristales is indistinguishable from any other river: a bed of rocks covered in dull green mosses are visible below a cool, clear current.
However, for a brief period of time every year, the river blossoms in a vibrant explosion of colors. During the short span between the wet and dry seasons, when the water level is just right, a unique species of plant that lines the river floor called Macarenia clavigera turns a brilliant red. It is offset by splotches of yellow and green sand, blue water, and a thousand shades in between.

If you are a romantic you will definetely love the gesture of this man. Mr Tian from Jinan, China used 9.999 roses to propose to his girlfriend. He planned every little detail.He had a big rose-heart set-up in front of the hotel they were staying and invited all of his friends and hotel staff to wait for his girl carrying a bouquet of roses. Each on every floor. When she arrived in the room Mr. Tian got down on one knee and proposed. The answer was a big "YES" for him.

If you find yourself in Thailand and specifically on Kudu island be sure to watch a movie right in the middle of the Nai Pi Lae lagoon. People going with boats to a raft at night when screening starts at the big Screen standing above water. It will be hard to focus on the film with such a view and the stars right above you but you don't get to live that everyday.
