Productionserver 7 (PS7) is subdivided into PS7 Classic-Line, PS7 X-Line and PS7 Flex-Line. While PS7 Classic-Line represents the well-known product structure inclusive numerous improvements and adapted pricing, PS7 X-Line and PS7 Flex-Line are characterized by even more flexibility and functionality.

• PS7 X-Line offers end-to-end, automated processing for complex PDF data thanks to the integration of Adobe PDF Print Engine 2.5 (APPE) included in all PS7 X-Line products. PS7 X-Line products can cope even with most demanding designs and elaborate transparency or shadow effects. More about PS7 X-Line.
• PS7 Flex-Line adapts itself to the requirements of users. The software suits perfectly for heterogeneous production environments. The comprehensive configuration enables an excellent, consistent high-end production based on international color standards (ISO, FOGRA, etc.). PS7 Flex-Line does not stipulate any particular type of drivers and number of printers, but allows for a variable choice to meet individual needs applying different Output Management Sets (OMS). The software offers significant price advantages compared to single configurations. New functions and modules

Adobe PDF Print Engine 2.5 (APPE 2.5) guarantees an end-to-end, automated PDF workflow for digital, offset and packaging. Immediately, APPE 2.5 is included in the PS7 Business X, PS7 Pro X, PS7 Ultimate X, PS7 Campaign Printing X and is optionally available for almost all version 7 types like PS7 Campaign Printing Flex and PS7 Graphic Arts Flex Productionserver types, with the exception of the Filmgate and Plategate solution.

Color Atlas Module CAM extends the existing function color correction. A printed sheet, showing different graduation of the color that should be replaced, enables visual color replacement according to the natural look-and-feel. More about Color Atlas Module.

New screening technologies

The new super cell screening method "Super Rosette 2" increases quality of film output considerably and enables production of up to 180 lpi screen rulings even for flexo and offset printing. FM screening technology enables users to choose a customized dot size in accordance with the used mesh and eliminates moiré difficulties completely. Screening technologies AM screening and FM screening now can be combined into a third new screening method "Hybrid Screen 2" that allows artifact-free printing of particularly difficult areas.

Most popular screen ruling for screen, litho offset, flexo and pad print methods are already included in the functional range of Filmgate 7. According to individual needs, the Software can be easily customized in the product configurator. Predefined MIM packages (Media-Ink-Metamode), including integrated linearization are available for download in the support area of ColorGATE website (customer log-in required).

Control of EPSON paper settings
Beside new screening technologies Filmgate 7 offers control of EPSON paper settings out of the RIP. For this reason it is no longer necessary to set up separate paper profiles for every single film material for the EPSON printer. Best calibration is already included in the MIM combination and will overwrite EPSON panel settings.

Add-ons and accessories
Filmgate 7 will be completed with CG Screenfilm, which is characterized by compatibility with almost all inkjet printers, exact media feed and anti-static back coating for exact-length film production, scratch-resistant, water-resistant and extremely hard-wearing material with great dimension stability as well as ink lay down and excellent acutance.

Functions of Filmgate 7 are also available as additional module for Productionserver 7 family. In combination with Screen Print Proof Module and Computer to Screen Module Productionserver 7 is the ideal solution for comprehensive production of screen printing and digital production.

Rotating existing containers
Starting with version 6.32 it is possible to rotate existing containers. This function was implemented for some special applications. Defining ink-free areas for tiling
How practical: in the Tiling assistant it is now possible to define the areas that are not to be printed. This makes it easier to fuse individual lengths with one another and increases the stability of the seams at the same time.

Special colors: Adjustable density, creating gradation curves
When using the corresponding printers, Release 6.31 and later now makes it possible to control the intensity (density) of such special colors as white, varnish or metallic. Gradation curves can also be created to optimally adapt the ink application to the desired intensity.

Summa FlexCut support
The new release also supports the FlexCut function on Summa cutting plotters. It allows the creation of perforations so that the motif can be removed from the backing material even more conveniently. The HP Designjet Z6200
HP developed the new Designjet Z6200 production photo printer especially for photo labs, digital printers, advertising agencies and design or engineering offices. The high-performance system produces prints in photo quality with a resolution of 2400 dpi and a large spectrum of indoor applications from line graphics to photo output and right on up to signage. With speeds up to a maximum of 140 square meters per hour, this new printer is up to 50 percent faster than the previous model.

The new standard for standard products

CG Web to Print live at the FESPA
Of course, anyone interested will have ample opportunity at the FESPA to see for themselves what the options and qualities of the innovative eCommerce system are: directly at the ColorGATE booth (B1/350), it is possible to initiate printing jobs, which are then processed at a number of different partner booths.

The Epson booth (B2/360), for example, will showcase CG Web to Print solutions for individual blind production using Productionserver 6 and the Epson Stylus Pro GS6000.
