The stick used to kill the dog has not been collected by the cops so far. The accused has managed to repaint the stick to erase the evidence....repeated request to IO to collect the same fell on deaf ears..

Pariah Dog Killed by Ex Army Officers at USMAN ENCLAVE, ALIGNJ,LUCKNOW

on 1/10/2011, a street dog who was roaming on the road and accidently came near the army colony at usman enclave, aliganj,lucknow was killed by beating by the security guard. he was ordered to kill the dog by two ex-army officers who reside in the colony. the society is trying to cover up by saying that the dog had bitten someone or was killed by a cow.
FIR has been lodged against the guard and two officers. PM done on the dog by a senior gvt vet states that his head was smashed due to heavy beating. Very painful death.

Dear DoggesDude:

I wish my husband and I had come across your website sooner. We bought an American Mastiff from Orion Farms (Axle) and he began showing aggressive behavior at 3 1/2 months old already. We worked with two trainers, our Vet and finally a Behaviorist with a PHD. It was determined that it wasn't a question of IF Axle would bite, it was WHEN.

The breeders (Kevin and Melanie Ware) told us we could bring the 5 months old puppy back and either choose another puppy or get our money back. Their trainer/birthing supervisor happened to be there when we arrived and she told us that she's seen the freeze-glare-snarl-growl before BUT she could Knock it out of Axle!! We asked for our money back. They promised to send it but it never came. Instead they send us an email accusing us of starving Axle and that they are now considering this a rescue from us!!

We've already gotten a letter from our Vet that this is ludicrous and we decided to get a lawyer.

Kevin and Melanie Ware should be ashamed of themselves!

Chicken feet Any joint and all connective tissue contain glucosamine. The stuff is not limited to chicken feet. If you are feeding body parts containing jointed bones (leg quarters, wing quarters, wings etc.) you are automatically feeding glucosamine. It is far more difficult for humans to get naturally occurring glucosamine. For a dog, it's not difficult .

Dogue De Bordeaux Puppies (India)

We have a Litter of Dogue De Bordeaux Puppies born on 23 Sept 2008. On 11th day when they were weighed, each of the dozen puppy was more than THREE Pounds in weight which is extra-ordinary as they are expected to be between 2-2.5 Pounds. They have lots of wrinkles and very huge head, damn heavy bones. Today 4 of them have started opening their eyes too... Will be adding more pictures of them on my website ( http://www.doguedebordeaux.in/)

Once they are 2 1/2 weeks old, i will start weaning them on raw meat (PMR Model) so that they grow much healthy and get more natural diet from start. It will be excellent for them to make a foundation on healthier and natural diet.. will keep updated on the same here...

Ticks only breathe a couple of times an hour so, They are not easy to drown. But they're even more talented than that.

Ticks breathe through tiny openings on the underside of their bodies and near their hind legs. These openings are called spiracles. Ticks can close these spiracles for several hours without any difficulty. In fact, since ticks are very susceptible to drying out, they regularly close their spiracles to reduce water loss during hot periods of the day."

Obviously, if they can hold their breath for hours, it would be practically impossible to smother them with petroleum jelly either.

Ticks cement themselves to the wound they create and that's why you often see little bits of skin attached to the mouth parts if you're lucky enough to get them off whole. On top of that, those mouth parts have barbs something like fishhooks on them, so ticks can't back out easily even if they want to. It takes them a long time to disengage on their own.

A flea comb won't do any good.

Q. Which foods could be dangerous for my dog?

A. Some foods which are edible for humans, and even other species of animals, can pose hazards for dogs because of their different metabolism. Some may cause only mild digestive upsets, whereas, others can cause severe illness, and even death. The following common food items should not be fed (intentionally or unintentionally) to dogs. This list is, of course, incomplete because we can not possibly list everything your dog should not eat.

Items to avoid Reasons to avoid

Alcoholic beverages:: Can cause intoxication, coma, and death.

Baby food:: Can contain onion powder, which can be toxic to dogs. (Please see onion below.) Can also result in nutritional deficiencies, if fed in large amounts.

Bones from fish, poultry, or other meat sources ::Can cause obstruction or laceration of the digestive system.

Cat food :: Generally too high in protein and fats.

Chocolate, coffee, tea, and other caffeine :: Contain caffeine, theobromine, or theophylline, which can be toxic and affect the heart and nervous systems.

Citrus oil extracts ::Can cause vomiting.

Fat trimmings ::Can cause pancreatitis.

Grapes and raisins :: Contain an unknown toxin, which can damage the kidneys. There have been no problems associated with grape seed extract.

Hops :: Unknown compound causes panting, increased heart rate, elevated temperature, seizures, and death.

Human vitamin supplements containing iron :: Can damage the lining of the digestive system and be toxic to the other organs including the liver and kidneys.

Large amounts of liver :: Can cause Vitamin A toxicity, which affects muscles and bones.

Moldy or spoiled food, garbage ::Can contain multiple toxins causing vomiting and diarrhea and can also affect other organs.

Mushrooms :: Can contain toxins, which may affect multiple systems in the body, cause shock, and result in death.

Onions and garlic (raw, cooked, or powder) :: Contain sulfoxides and disulfides, which can damage red blood cells and cause anemia. Cats are more susceptible than dogs. Garlic is less toxic than onions.

Persimmons :: Seeds can cause intestinal obstruction and enteritis.

Pits from peaches and plums ::Can cause obstruction of the digestive tract.

Potato, rhubarb, and tomato leaves; potato and tomato stems ::Contain oxalates, which can affect the digestive, nervous, and urinary systems. This is more of a problem in livestock.

Raw eggs :: Contain an enzyme called avidin, which decreases the absorption of biotin (a B vitamin). This can lead to skin and hair coat problems. Raw eggs may also contain Salmonella.

Raw fish ::Can result in a thiamine (a B vitamin) deficiency leading to loss of appetite, seizures, and in severe cases, death. More common if raw fish is fed regularly.

Salt :: If eaten in large quantities it may lead to electrolyte imbalances.

String :: Can become trapped in the digestive system; called a "string foreign body."

Sugary foods:: Can lead to obesity, dental problems, and possibly diabetes mellitus.

Table scraps (in large amounts) ::Table scraps are not nutritionally balanced. They should never be more than 10% of the diet. Fat should be trimmed from meat; bones should not be fed.

Tobacco :: Contains nicotine, which affects the digestive and nervous systems. Can result in rapid heart beat, collapse, coma, and death.

Yeast Dough :: Can expand and produce gas in the digestive system, causing pain and possible rupture of the stomach or intestines.
