All are classics and much better than his work within Batman.

His "Batman" title work, for me, had two exceptional pieces - issue 666 and The Club of Heroes arc. Plus two average arcs, RIP and the Black Glove. Nothing on the level of what was produced in his other Batman titles.

Batman and Son felt too driven by editorial and sadly once Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul followed I saw how un-Morrison it really was.

I get it, people lump it all together but that statement was meant literally in the Batman book.

Morrison's Batman wouldn't fit in the New 52 because editorial has taken away the detective aspect of Batman. This is the biggest change in the books overall. If you like your Batman to be the smartest one in the room then Morrison's Justice League Batman is as good as anything. Times change though. The Batman Morrison had his hands on is long gone.

If you can believe it, my favorite Batman incarnation since the new 52 was Morrison's take on the character in his Multiversity books. Sadly, I long for a monthly of that nature over Snyder's run because this Batman is not the Batman I think of. But we live in continuity where Batman is a thug and the bad guys and their schemes make or break the book.

Thanks for commenting. Believe it or not I love these kinds of debates.

Re: Geek Goggle Reviews: Batman #39 - ComicList

"You would be hard-pressed to find a better Batman book over the last decade."

I like Snyder's run, but Grant Morrison's run is superior in every way. So, no I really wouldn't be that hard-pressed.

Re: ComicList News - Read MARVEL'S DIGITAL HOLIDAY SPECIAL for FREE

where can i read all of the dark knights returns novels

Re: ComicList: New Comic Book Releases List for 07/25/2012 (1 Week Out) - ComicList

ok thank you.

Re: ComicList: New Comic Book Releases List for 07/25/2012 (1 Week Out) - ComicList

Spawn #250 is now scheduled to arrive 02/04/2015.

Re: ComicList: New Comic Book Releases List for 07/25/2012 (1 Week Out) - ComicList

where is spawn I thought the comic was out on the 28th?

Re: The adventure begins and never ends in INDIE COMICS MAGAZINE #9 - ComicList

Diamond Order No. FEB150879 -- join the FB Event for more about Indie Comics Magazine #9! https://www.facebook.com/ev...

Re: Dynamite Entertainment Extended Forecast for 01/07/2015 - ComicList

I wonder if Ron Marz would ask Dynamite if he could finish the "Sojourn" series he started with Crossgen. I'd really like that if possible.
Also I hope Dynamite will let James Kuhoric do a limited Six Million Dollar Man/Bionic Woman crossover series. Maybe at least 7 issues or so , should make for a good adventure.

Re: Geek Goggle Year Ender 2014 - ComicList

You forgot Letter 44, George A.
