Political lines that are merely notations of which collection of local politicians will collect the tax tribute they will then distribute corruptly to their friends, in the name of good government. At times these county lines overlap, each claiming sovereignty...At other times, neither wishes to get its feet wet and they stay on the bank. These are the peaceful interludes...those times of no government.

I have no need of a government for I do not need protection from the forces of the world, you understand...The greatest evil on this planet, and the one which all of us need protection from the most? Governments which have escaped the control of their most common citizens. This is a failure, not of the evil people who capture the flags of once great nations, but of the common people who let them.

That would be you, human!

A requirement of self government is that the form of government put into place be transparent and self limiting, always answering to the choke chain leash held by those it governs. How stupid of humans to place power in the hands of others and turn away to watch frivolities on this television that holds such mesmerizing power over them, while their world is destroyed by ravenous greed.

Odd that this greed of humans so much concerns something that is so poisonous to them in nearly every form of its manifestation...oil. It destroys their lands as they drill for it, and their children as they promote war for its control. It kills their babies and their old people as they burn it, using the one element in the Earth's atmosphere they themselves must have to survive, oxygen, replacing it with soot and poisons.

Stupid...And most stupid of all? Those that serve this greed will ultimately kill themselves and their progeny in the performance of that very service.

The Commander was held captive to oil in the past, but for many decades, he has put it aside...letting the world come to him...and the world has come in pilgrimage, and it is all true and beautiful, though vanishing. Gone are the great muskie that once roamed these waters, but other fish survive here still and take their place. For how long, it remains to be seen. The Commander questions, after all, the ability of humans to jump off of a wrecking train.

There is but one earth, and it is very small. Where will you go, human?

Commander Rapid will be waiting to see what you do.

Commander Rapid here:

Now before you go off on me, asking how a 54 Studebaker can post to the internet you had better stop and realize that the Commander, unlike you...Human..was the product of an intelligent design.

Think about that, those few of you who can!

Sorry to be condescending, but what else is there? For instance, there's this:

The Commander sees that you creatures have a debate scheduled in Kansas on Darwinian theory versus Intelligent Design. Do you realize how funny this appears to the Commander?

The Commander sits, ever vigilant, on the bank of an island in Whites Creek in Tennessee, a mere 25 miles from the site of the worst Chamber of Commerce stunt gone bad since that horrid Ten Commandments of god on a rock thing that Moses tried to pull off. That was the greatest typo in world history, if you ask me. Coming upon the sight of a bunch of Israelites dancing nekkid around a metal statue of a cow, he looked down at his two rocks and realized the prohibition against boiling veal in milk was never going to stop an orgy, whenceforth he sent the stone tablets to rewrite.

Don't you folks realize that the Scopes Monkey trial was a joke? A joke gone really really bad, so bad that there is now a college dedicated to it in Dayton, Tennessee.

And now you creatures want to believe that some entity with even a lick of sense, much less, actual cosmic intelligence, would create...You?

Intelligent design, my Bumper! What arrogant morons humans appear to be...Prove me wrong, people! Have a critical thought, will you?

Commander Rapid will be waiting.

Commander Rapid thinks humans are even stupider than he thought. They only have to get three things right:

Eat, Survive, Reproduce!

Two out of three is not good enough, and he fears that human survival chances are pretty slim. He is heartened, however, by the recent rumblings of the normally suicidal FundXtians as they have started talking about something called "Creation Care". The Commander doesn't care what superstitions these idiots adhere to as long as they will try to stop trying to end the world so they can go to whereever it is they think they will go.

The Commander thinks they will most likely join him in the afterlife, washed where the water will flow somewhere downstream. It is the highest aspiration of a 1954 Studebaker, after all...a return to its primordial elements to start all over as building blocks for something different this time. The Commander knows that a 1954 Studebaker is the highest achievement possible on this plane of existance and fully expects to be a worm next time.

Commander Rapid Here:

The Homeland Security Department has refused comment on questions from several sources reguarding the possible invasion and infiltration of America's noblest institutions by beings from the planet Fund-X-tia. Called "FundXtians", they appear to have the intent of destroying all common sense left on the planet Earth.

Alert defenders of the planet have long known that certain self proclaimed cult leaders are in fact, FundXtians. Once this is realized, the sight of a Mr. Falwell proclaiming, on National television,

"We should blow them all to kingdom come, in the name of the Lord!"

can be directly attributed to FundXtian methods of war. The fact that American Citizens believe, for one second, that Jesus, one of the greatest pacifists that ever lived wants innocent children dead, can only be attributed to FundXtian viruses infecting the brains of seemingly normal humans. It has been a FundXtian strategy that there is no need to conquer the entire body when only the brain is required.

FundXtian methods were used to drive peace loving Americans to accept the "goodness" of blowing up a house full of women and children on the off chance that Saddam Hussein could be inside. This was done on the order of a man claiming to be Pro-Life, wanting to force the will of the state inside the bodies of its citizens to save innocent potential children.

" Abortions are murder but killing Iraqi children and their mothers is an act of love," say the FundXtians!

"The Social Security system might lose $3.7 trillion in the next 75 years, " they say, while refusing to mention the FundXtian tax cut that costs $11.6 trillion over the same time frame. FundXtian Tax reform, now on the agenda, can only be as devastating as the FundXtian Medicare reform that saved Medicare last year by $8.1 trillion over the next 75 years.

How the FundXtians came here and took over the sacred institutions of America is only one part of the mystery...It now appears that over the entire world, this threat is real and growing, as evidenced by movements as diverse as the Fundamuslians, FundaMoonians, FundaMormians, FundaJudibats, and Republicans, also known as Funda-Moron-ians! So far, existing organizations have proved unable to counteract the growing devastation caused by the FundXtians. Of particular note are the Ineptocrats, though sensitive diagnostic equipment shows some brain activity. Only time will tell if this is true, and is of sufficient magnitude to mount a sufficient opposition force. There is fear that the Ineptocrats have already been infiltrated by FundXtian agents. This is the only possible explanation for the shrill, shaking, rantings of the Zellmillerbot at the FundaMoronian convention, prior to the disgraceful reelection of...I can't bring myself to type it but, yes, he's a FundXtian, too...

Citizens! You must prepare yourself for a long protracted struggle against evil FundXtia!

Back to my vigil in my wilderness post,

Commander Rapid

Commander Rapid here;

What the hell is going on out there? Didn't you people listen? I'm sitting here rusting away and I seem to have more sense than 51.7 percent of you people. Are your brains stuck in reverse? Happened to me once but I got over it.

Day after day, I sit here, as only a 1954 Studebaker Commander can, wise, beautiful and strong in my earlier years, and now only wise. How about paying attention, will you? I'm hoping you folks can learn from my situation here on a small island in White's Creek. No tires, out of gas, head gasket blown, rusting to the ground but wearing the name proudly as I go away. It's happening to you too, by the way. Don't you know that I am you in a few years? I can't remember how I got here in the gorge. Used to be a bridge right next to me but it's gone. One of those low water things that get knocked away the high water that comes every few years but folks always forget about as if it'll never rain too much again. There's a big monument about a half mile downstream with 27 names on it that ought to keep reminding folks, but nope, nope, nope! Gotta be stupid, Won't learn from the past, and you folks'll join me in rust yourselves before you ever learn.

Used to be muskie swimming in this creek. Big fish, good eating, and good fishing. Then they were just gone. Somebody got the last one and couldn't figure out why there aren't any more. You ate the last one,THE LAST ONE, you Dummy! When you eat...the last one...they won't be no more! AS the neighbor says, "You done messed up! Now and for all time."

That's all right, there's plenty more things to mess up. There'll always be stuff to eat and air to breathe and water to drink...but there won't. The little things usually go first, but sometimes it's the big ones like the Muskie. Now the biggest things that swim by are people. I've seen five foot gar but they ain't nothing compared to a 5'10", 185 pound baby boomer wearing googles and flippers. Looked me over real good, though. Seemed to appreciate the fine turn of the nameplate on my fender. A Chrome cursive "Commander" on a blue background, holding sentinel at water's edge. I see things but nobody listens when I pass along the intelligence.

We'll see how it goes.

singning off,

Commander Rapid

"I asked President Clinton what he and George Bush had in common. He replied that in eight days they both will be former presidents." -- John Kerry 10-25-04

Clinton is obviously weak but Folks, he's still the Big Dog! He ran down a list of accomplishements by his administration and what's happened to them under Bush...Surplus to deficit, hope to fear. respect to loathing...and it's only taken Bush four years! The signs up above are fpr the eight more days until regime change in America. Now it's seven!

I have friends who say they are for Bush. I look them in the eye and tell them they know better! He has no business being President and everyone knows it. They are refusing to admit it to themselves. I also tell them this:

When you walk into that voting booth, no one in the whole world will know how you vote except you. You know that America should have a President with two things, a sound intellect and a conscience! So you make the choice...A man who says he can't think of any mistakes he's made, or a man who thinks about all sides of an issue and can change his mind when the information shows him a different course?

I also ask them to state one Kerry lie, which they can't...and then I rattle off six or seven Bush lies, "We have found the Weapons of Mass Destruction!" being chief amongst them.

Then I say, "Don't let these creeps use you and manipulate you...Use your own judgement and think about the future for your children...You know Bush should not be President!...When the curtain closes, help us save our country and vote for Kerry. We have to all be Americans first. We owe it to our children!"

On the future of America, from the environment, to education, from women's rights to war, Kerry is the only choice this time around.

Here is an example of a newspaper that endorsed Bush in 2000 and has now decided to endorse Kerry for President, even though hey endorsed Bush's Brother for Governor:

Four years ago, the Orlando Sentinel endorsed Republican George W. Bush for president based on our trust in him to unite America. We expected him to forge bipartisan solutions to problems while keeping this nation secure and fiscally sound.

This president has utterly failed to fulfill our expectations. We turn now to his Democratic challenger, Sen. John Kerry, with the belief that he is more likely to meet the hopes we once held for Mr. Bush.

The whole editorial is a good read on why a former Bush supporter should now support Kerry:

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/opinion/orl-edped124102404oct24,0,6815713.story?coll=orl-home-headlines

Kevin Drum at http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/ shouts the good news:
The LA Times shows a dead heat, 48%-48%. The Washington Post tracking poll has Kerry ahead 49%-48%. Rasmussen has Kerry ahead 48%-46%. I haven't looked at every poll out there, and I'm sure they aren't all this friendly toward Kerry, but it's staring to look like Kerry is finally starting to pull ahead after a couple of weeks of no gains.

In other words, it looks like the undecided voters are swinging toward Kerry by the 2:1 margin the conventional wisdom said they would.

I wish The Rude Pundit would wash his mouth out with industrial strength detergent sometimes, but danged if he isn't sharp as an undeleted expletive. He ( Hmm...I really don't know for sure he is a man, now that I think about it.) anyway, he makes the point that before the war, U.N inspectors had the Al Qaqaa installation well in hand and President Bush ordered them, yep he did, out of the country so he could bomb it. Bush claims he was looking for the fabled Weapons of Mass Destruction but what did he order the Military to guard?

The Oil Ministry!

Duh?

Here's an excerpt (sanitized) from TRP:

...So it is that during those first few Old West days of freedom in Iraq, when looting and raping was the rule of the land, that among the things looted (other than, say, nuclear waste and ancient artifacts) was, glory be, 380 tons of explosives. Mostly HMX, High Melting eXplosive, and RDX, Royal Demolition eXplosive (both have a bunch of other names). They're colorful bits of death. And they blow shit up at an alarming rate, over 26,000 feet per second. They create shock waves that shatter everything in its path. F----n' Bruce Willis could not run fast enough to get away before he was melted into scrapeable goo on the glowing pavement. But, you see, apparently this kind of stuff was not worthy of the attention of American authorities in the minutes, hours, days, and weeks after the invasion, unlike, say, the oil ministry in Baghdad. Even now, one senior Bush adminstration official said, sure, it could kill you, "but it's not a proliferation risk." Other than, you know, the fact that it could be used for making, well, shit, nuclear weapons - the mystical, magical "dual-use" materials Bush used to stammer about, back in the day.

Folks, this is an outrage! Our troops are getting blown up left and right and now, Condi Rice says she and Bush just found out about it? We were guarding the oil but not the Boom-Boom?

Atrios is outraged:

This stuff was looted 18 months ago, and no one told Rice until a month ago? [watching CNN]

Is anyone in charge in this goddamn administration?

-Atrios

Oh Yeah...and the title of the memo was "Al Queda Determined to Attack Inside the United States!" Has anyone told Bush and Rice about that one yet?

There are single telling bits of evidence that stand by themselves as brute testimony that this Administration is seriously incapable of serving America. The Rude Pundit makes a plain case, though liberally laced with profanity:

http://rudepundit.blogspot.com/

Here is another example that, standing alone, should be reason enough to remove the Bush Administration. Note who it is from:

...Four months later, intelligence showed Zarqawi was planning to use ricin in terrorist attacks in Europe.

The Pentagon drew up a second strike plan, and the White House again killed it. By then the administration had set its course for war with Iraq.

“People were more obsessed with developing the coalition to overthrow Saddam than to execute the president’s policy of preemption against terrorists,” according to terrorism expert and former National Security Council member Roger Cressey. ...

Military officials insist their case for attacking Zarqawi’s operation was airtight, but the administration feared destroying the terrorist camp in Iraq could undercut its case for war against Saddam.

Jim Miklaszewski NBC NEWS

Al Zarqawi is credited with over one thousand murders since then. Feeling safer?

Kos says it well:

These guys defunded the anti-terrorism budget and shrugged off threats before 9/11. Then they assured the American people after 9/11 that they would bring the terrorists to justice wherever they were. Then they failed to go after someone who everybody agreed was connected to al Qaeda because it might bollix their 18-month-long propaganda campaign to gin up support for a war in Iraq. And they did this even though the suspected target was in Kirma, Northern Iraq, Kurdish-held territory in the no-fly zone.

Got that? Read that paragraph again and tell me you aren't starting to be just a little bit of a Bush Hater!

Here at the command post on White's Creek just after it falls off the Cumberland Plateau, I survey the world. I am actually a Studebaker. Once I proudly roamed the Nations highways and how I ended up here, who can fathom. Perhaps the easy access to the juke joints that sprung up in what are laughably called "Dry" counties here in "Tennessee befuddled my driver into thinking the bridge was still there. Maybe it was and the aim was a little off. Who knows, as today, only the bridge pylons and this rusting former proud car keep watch.

More when I feel like it. I've got time even if you don't.
