You may have noticed that The Athens News updated their website recently, and its much improved. One improved component is the article archive search feature. Users may search newspaper sections by category or by article title, author and date. There are also several ways to construct search strategies, such as “exact phrase” and so forth. Well done, A News!

My only complaint is that the archive claims to contain 1981-current year, however, when I tried searches for articles from 1981, 1985 and 1994 I got nothing. So when does the online archive actually begin? 1998. Hmmm, this librarian says more work on this feature is in order.
