Philippians 1:27 covers much of the problem we face every day. Who’s example are we following? Are we trying to be the person who keeps up with the Joneses, who has the nicest car, biggest house, best things? Or are we trying to live by His example?

Your example this week was spot on, if God spent a week with us, at what point would we ask him for some time to Sin. God never looks the other way, and if we choose to let vices rule our lives we’re creating our own example to follow and ignoring His.

When we feel guilt, I believe it is not something to be ashamed of. I think guilt is something we should be PROUD of. That guilt is God’s love for us. That guilt is our hearts reminding us that we have strayed, and it is a gentle nudge that can put us back on His path.

I’m not saying it’s easy, or I am perfect, or I follow His path completely. I look at my own sins of Lust and Greed and Judging others and I know I have much work to do inside myself, but I take heart in the fact that He doesn’t expect any one of us to get it right every single time.

I am a sinner, but through Christ I am forgiven.

Thanks so much for posting your notes and sermon vids online. My little one was sick this weekend, so we had to miss church, but it’s so great to be able to hop online a couple days later and see what we missed!

Chris! I love it! I’ve never been one to openly share what I learn in church but what you shared with us in the above talk really made an impact, because truly a relationship with God IS Good News.

Was great to shake your hand today, I’m looking forward to following through Romans with you each Sunday.

Awesome notes! I go to CBC as well, usually the 5pm Saturday worship. Do you know if Robert’s planning on doing a version of your sermon notes for his worships? Thanks, and keep up the good work!

Hey Chris,

I want to say thank you for the changes your messages have made on my life. Your class was the first impression I had on CBC and I am hooked in living life for the Lord. I have not missed a weekend since I first came to your class because I am so eager to learn what you and your dad have to share. I know that is cheezy, but I mean it.

You and your dad are amazing. You both make life easier to understand with Jesus by my side.

My most discouraging moment was being unsure if my dad was saved. He has seen your dad twice in the last 3 months, and I’ve never known my dad to go to church, ever. Your dad asked all Christians to raise their hand. When my dad raised his hand, I can’t explain to you the joy my heart felt. I felt like Jesus was taking care of him, like I try to, ever since my mom passed this year. It was like if Jesus and I can take care of him together, we can do anything…and I feel my dad will be okay after 40 years of marriage to my mom.

Anyways, thank you. I will pray for your family to continue to be anointed to share His message the way you do.
