You should check out a page on my blog, where I'm almost done compiling all the episodes ever broadcast and making them available for download either individually or as yearly archives.

Enjoy, and please spread the word to any other IOT fans!

It’s a shame that these ‘lost editions’ (and most of them really aren’t on the In Our Time website) don’t have any recordings available, ...

Rejoice!

The BBC have recently (Nov 09) decided to put the entire canon of IOT online http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006qykl/episodes/player

I do not agree with the statement that the science based programmes are less well explained. I always find them well argued and easy to follow (and I am a scientist also). However I did surprise myself by listening to, enjoying and learning from, this week's episode on the execution of Charles I - more a case of Anti-Monarch, than Anti-Matter...

I began listening to IOT when the discussion was about the (recently solved) Poincaré Conjecture — then I listened to more episodes and never stopped.

I commute by train to go the university every day and I always enjoy a good IOT podcast. I also enjoy those of scientific journals like Nature or Science, or Scientific American.

If you haven't already, do sign up for Melvyn's Newsletter (on the BBC site), they are also quite nice.

Dear Melvyn,

I cannot always get onto the site to download each program every week. The ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) offers its past programs as an mp3 download. Will you please encourage the BBC to follow suit? I don't have time to sit at my computer and listen to your programs on it, I need them on the run!

Best wishes,

- Jacob.
