I'm glad to see this is still rolling, but I've been wondering if a second conference call in the near future would be in order. If everything needed is currently internal, then fine I'll wait like everybody else, but listening to the old conference call (I had missed it due to a conflict that day), and looking at the forum, I'm just wanting to know if extra volunteer help will move things along, or would just be in the way at this point.

I'm looking forward to AgriTrue. By the time you're ready to Beta, I should have my 6 acre hobby farm. :)

It's good plain common sense.

I really dislike the way the term "organic" has been taken over, but more importantly, it just has an extremely rigid certification process that seems totally unrealistic for a small grower to achieve. Then there are the spinoffs: CNG, etc. with their own set of rules. I don't like jumping through hoops!

So in the eyes of the consumer, if you aren't A, you are B (all or nothing). I like the flexibility of this, and the ability to directly connect with people about the food I eat and the food I grow.

my friend's dad raises hogs, lambs, chickens. I'd be happy to talk to him about this topic. I'll try to get on this call, however the 27th is sketchy for me.

Jack - Great to see that this thing is still going strong. I've discussed the idea to friends at out local Farmer's Market, as well as several groups who have community gardens, and the overall idea seems to be well received. I really think that AgriTrue is a step in the right direction for our country and for its food producers.

I'd like to start off by saying that I love this idea, however I have to disagree with the use of Conventional Fertilizers.

I say this for two prime reasons:

A) The way the fertilizers are made promote heavy mining, drilling, and waste that harm the environment. This is especially disheartening when the same minerals/nutrients can be produced by natural methods. These plants grow in nature without chemical fertilizers, so I feel that my food should come from the same natural situation.

B) Conventional Fertilizer is mildly radioactive, more so than natural fertilizers. Not something I'd like to add to my diet.

My feeling is that if you need to add chemical fertilizers to your soil to support a hungry crop, your soil is not yet ready to support those species and they should not be grown.

In conclusion, I believe that disclosing what farms/producers use fertilizers would put more legitimacy to your program, and help promote the free market and consumer decision making.
