For my calf scour program, I have had very good luck with an old home-made remedy. 1 calf bottle (4 pt) warm water, 1 box sure jel, 1 can Campbells beef consomme', 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking soda...mix all together in a clean pail and feed to the calf for 5-6 feedings. I take away the milk/milk replacer and watch the calfs' scours to see how long I need to keep him/her on the "soup recipe".

The other treatment which is very good is using the Nutri calf gel, mixed with the milk/replacer. It's a matter of catching the illness as soon as possible to get your calf healthy faster with a treatment that works for you.
