I have no idea what my internet usage really is.
I can upgrade for an extra £5 a month, and I may find myself doing this soon.

I can't get an estimated line speed without internet in, so I wasn't going to pay for something that I didn't have to.

I've never been an ADSL customer before, so I'm unsure as to how things will work out.

Just going to see how I go for now.

I am one of these consumers. I have submitted one thing but certainly don't expect to make any profits, my main motivation is to flattr others.

This appeal should apply to producers as well, since are few bloggers who don't also read others blogs (or musicians that don't listen to others music etc.).

The advantage over paypal is that you don't need to log in or type any codes in, just click the button. You also do not have to think twice about weather to give or not, or how much, because the sum you give does not increase with each click. Again, flattr also has the whole social aspect, which, I think, invalidaes the paypal comparison.

That coupled with the lack of consumers signing up (Flattr seems to be tailored towards publishers).

I agree it's a great idea, one I would use if it wasn't for the 'Give to Get' policy. If they allowed publishers to sign up with no monthly subscription costs, they would have a lot of publishers. However with this model, there is nothing to appeal to the consumer.

PayPal does charge a handling fee for all transactions. It does not however have a monthly charge for using their service.
