Well written article, Mark.

I would stress the point you made under maintenance about a sharp blade for your mower. A dull blade will not only cut unevenly, you also run the rist of pulling the blades up instead of cutting.. Over time this can cause some real harm to the lawn

I don’t think most do it yourself folks realize this and will go the life of a mower without ever sharpening the blade.

The snow is just beginning to melt, and I can’t wait to start work on my lawn. Thanks for the great tips. I will definitely put them to use. I haven’t planted any flowers yet, but this may be the first year that I decide to do so.

For some people the garden is the only pleasure they have left its awful that some people feel the need to vandalize it.

It is heartbreaking to see your hard work and pride and joy get destroyed in a few mindless minutes by someone usually doing it for what they perceive as ‘fun’

Wow remember that show battlebots? That thing just needs a big sawblade on the top or a hedge trimmer duct taped to it lol.

I think remote control would be the best way to go, just letting a robomower “decide” to mow your lawn seems scary. Maybe if you have an absolutely flat and rectangular area it would work.
