No, I don't remember what station it was on, but I'd love to find video of it as well. You might contact the Athletic Department and see if they may have any leads.

Sorry to start this thread OT, but I have a strange question for you. I found your blog searching for video of the 1973 Wisconsin vs. Cornell NCAA semi-final. My father was at that game and I've never been able to find video of it. You mentioned watching it on TV at the time and I was wondering if, by any small chance, you remember the station it was on. I'm desperate for a recording of that game for my father.

Any advice you could give would be much appreciated. Thank you! And SIEVE SIEVE SIEVE!

A.

John, I share your feelings about Guate having been there with the Common Hope Project in Antigua 33 humbling times. I think they fly the kites for all the reasons because they are interconnected. I've seen kites in the air at Scatepequez Santiago so thick a bird couldn't fly through the strings, each of them connected to an individual loved one, all of them interconnected with the human race. The dancing of the kites are the spirits talking to us, the size and colors (which represent the outer manifestation of our inner souls or spirits) cleanse out evil spirits with their strength and the souls of the departed are carried back to the underworld or heaven (being Christian or Mayan emphasis) on the flying kites. Another reason: the Guatemalans just love to get together and celebrate things. Color and noise are part of the culture. They are incredibly inclusive. Everyone can find some way to participate during Semana Santa and La Dia de Los Muertes. To whomever has never visited Antigua guatemala, I say, GO!

[...] The founder and head of Benetech, Jim Fruchterman, is a tireless and eloquent champion of this world view. His Beneblog is what first pulled me in when I started reading it about two years ago. He chronicles a vibrant and energetic world of social entrepreneurs who are drawing the vast array of technical tools we have into forms that make amazing differences in the lives of people, not just through Benetech but through new organizations around the world.
[...] The nominees are set, so Bill Moyers can’t be president this time around, but it seems like he should be put in the running for vice president, or cabinet position or some place where he can have the influence he deserves. Or perhaps he should just be left alone to do what he does best: stand up to the blowhards and show what is good. That’s what he did last weekend during the National Conference on Media Reform in Minneapolis when Bill O’Reilly’s man tried to badger him (there’s a full segment and a slightly shorter piece from Keith Olbermann’s show that shows clips of O’Reilly’s spin on it.) He didn’t acquiesce, or ignore, or shout, he talked to the Fox person with dignity and respect and a forceful truth. And as Olbermann said, he had “the special ingredient of being 100% morally and factually correct.” [...]
