Perfect Timing. Even if I'm almost 2 months behind, I hear this loud and clear TODAY. Me and Anger have been way too chummy lately.

I might, especially if it was in retrospect. I think sometimes the anger may be too close so as to obliterate the view. Maybe the question is: what happened to that individual that made him/her seek escape? Surely they didn't pop out of the womb broken. So somewhere there is a history which you or I may not as yet be able to see.

Conner -- yes, starting something yourself is hard! I really appreciate your comments, your honesty, and the story about your band was particularly memorable when you said, "It turns out it was difficult to even establish a once a week meeting for everyone, and get consistant practice happening. One of the hardest things to do is be self motivated." Wow, this is a problem that occurs in the world over and over again. I was talking to Wade Hodges about the church plant in Austin and he said the same thing about his church planting team: one big challenge was finding time to meet. I guess this really pushes us to decide what is really important in our lives and what do we want to spend our time on. If a group of people are going to do something really cool together, create something together, they all have to also ask, "What are we going to QUIT doing in order to accomplish this."

For what it's worth -- it sounds like there is the possibility that your child is learning to stand on both feet in a relationship even when the pieces don't fit together right. You didn't rescue to make him/her to make things feel better, and he or she didn't cave to get their way or to make you feel better. Sometimes we just have to learn that we can handle bad feelings and bad situations even when we can't fix them very well. That is an unusual lesson for kids (or adults!) to learn these days. And actually, your story is an inspiration for me. Too many parents in our generation (myself included) don't trust that their children can find their way if given the space to do so.
