Clicktale is *not* a movie of what your visitors see - although it is easy to get that impression. It tracks where a visitor's mouse travels, and then overlays that on a screenshot.
The problem we've found is that often this screen shot is completely different to what the user sees. This is because the screen shot doesn't support things like javascript, Ajax, cookies, POST forms, and user sessions.
For my team it has meant chasing imaginary problems and issues that were never there. Creepy little neighbour indeed!

Great points. And very easily appliable to any business who manufactures a product. This is the age of storytelling. The better you tell the consumer your story, the better your CR will be. Clearly explaining how something is made is a great example. Thanks!

We're not aware of any evidence that centered headlines significantly outperform left-aligned ones. Do let us know if you find any.

Hi. Thanks for the kind words. It's just a matter of prioritization; we try to focus on doing a small number of things well, and those things haven't risen to the top of our priorities yet.

Very insightful article. However, a forgotten aspect of long page copy is pacing. Previous masters of the long-copy sales letter used lead-in sub heads in order to lure the reader deeper into the sales letter, and keep the interest and curiosity piqued. This would also aid the reader in skimming.

And don't forget to finally present the "cherry" right at the end, and make the reader an offer they cannot refuse.
