My compiz broke when I upgraded to Jaunty. I started using Metacity and know I dont miss Compiz a bit. I never used any of the wobbly windows, ect. So I dont notice a difference. If your Metacity is lagging when dragging windows and scrolling try:

gconftool-2 -s –type bool /apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager true

Fixed mine and know it runs smooth as silk.
