That’s pretty much the classic symptoms, so hopefully it shouldn’t be long before you get you recorder working again.

The same thing has just happened to me, so I’ll have a look at that cap. I’m and electronics engineer for a livings so you may have saved me the fault finding! I turned on the guide to record something tonight and none of the channels had any programmes listed. I tried flicking through all the DVB channels, nothing. Powering down, nothing. Retuning lost all the channels that had been there and replaced them with nothing. We don’t have analogue broadcasts in my area anymore, which means this unit is now practically useless. So, hopefully the same cap has gone on mine.

I believe that if you log in to FB via https once it asks you if you want to continue logging in via the secure connection in the future.

This will be of importance to people who store Facebook credits and perhaps owners of Business pages. Good post, thanks.

Thanks for the heads up. I fixed my dmexr75 in under a day with $1.40 in parts and I have 4 spare! Thankyou again for your post as well as others who have added to the completeness of the instruction for alternate models. easy as.

I have today (15th September 2011) been searching for new MS Office software and came across what looked like a marvellous deal via SoftAtlantic. Being an inherently suspicious person I firstly checked to see if the site had a UK address (as all UK companies are required to state, in accordance with the Companies Act) – it didn’t state any address (surprise, surprise)!
A quick ‘google’ led me to your excellent blog. So it appears despite Microsoft’s attempts, these guys are still producing bootleg versions.

P. S. With regards the ‘Dave is a fuckwit’ comments (for the sake of balance), I agree that Microsoft have manipulated the market over the years, to create a massive dominance, so that they can charge obscene prices for new software. However the answer isn’t piracy, but competition. If that position can ever be reached it would force Microsoft to be competitive with their pricing. There are a number of opensource systems out there (I’m no expert), so the more people who begin to use them, then the weaker Microsoft’s stranglehold becomes…wishful thinking I know!
