You have a lot of really good advice here and I would only add a few points. 1. It’s really important to hire a company that you trust 100%. Get references. Check the Better Business Bureau and site’s like RipoffReport.com. 2. The best companies will incorporate both search engine marketing (SEM) and search engine optimization (SEO) because they understand that a website that has a #1-3 spot in the natural search results PLUS an add on the same page is 400% more likely to make a sale than if they have just one or the other.

The main page of deindexed.com is now error free and XHTML 1.1 compliant, November 7 2008. The IE6 and IE7 browsers do show an error, “error does not support this property”. I have seen this error on another site I validated, its the search form that uses a call to javascript. I’ll change it and the pages error should disappear.

I just searched – google seo on youtube punches old man – on Google and the phrase was #1. Thats a pretty good seo tip. I noticed that even when you query a part of the phrase this page ranks high in serps.

I agree with you Adam. Stuffing keywords, by abusing tags, may give a site a brief moment of glory at the top of search results, maybe even a spike in traffic, but in the end the site or pages will probably get deindexed for not following ethical seo guidelines.

I do need to add the email update feature. Thanks for the reminder.

I have really just started using tags, and am pretty inconsistent with them at that.
When I do use them, I try not to go over 2 or 3 tags. I have seen some sites that as you say, stuff them in there. One site which I won’t name, which was a sort of local search site, had a free wp blog, where 25 town names were used as tags. The content of the blog post was only about half as much as the tags.

I was going to sign up for email updates and you don’t have the option to receive email updates enabled.
I love the Feed widget in the comment box though…great feature.
