In my workshops I've worked hard to come up with creative hands-on exercises. It's more work than the alternative. I completely agree that learning - when done right - is fun. In my personal life, I try to maintain decorum and patience. However, I try not to befriend or bring past a certain level of distance anyone who is difficult. In my professional life, I believe that some of the greatest areas of personal growth can come from learning how to handle "difficult" people in a work environment or team approach and still get the job done. You can learn by paying close attention to communication and interaction between you and the other party, and recognizing and realizing your own responsibilities regarding the difficult interactions. The bottom line truth is, that yes, we have people that are difficult for us to deal with. But, for every one of them, there is someone who identifies us as a difficult person as well. The uniqueness of humanity is part of what makes it great and this uniqueness sometimes makes getting along difficult. However, it is well worth the effort.
