All that we need to do is come up with an open alternative. Then others will be forced to be open or join the movement. we need both better Ajax frameworks and better browsers. HTML 5 is a great move on this front.

Why not all browsers come up with support for ActionScript and setup a standard? Adobe will be forced to join.

I’ve an issue quite related :

I’ve got an ASP.NET 3.5 app that loads a page with a very big datagrid.

When the page is finally loaded, IE 6 and 7 are still using 40 % of the processor, not FF.

Do you know about this issue ?

Removing AJAX components on the page (ScriptManager and UpdatePanel) make the 40% become 20% but the problem is still there …

If you get bloqued by your proxy you can search a tunneling https/ssl program.
It will transfert all your web data to a another seveur who can convert all the data to a https or ssl protocol.also your proxy don’t see if an inacessible data or not and you can now open any page you want.
I ve a good one for you: proxycap by proxy labs.
you just need to install, then enter you proxy adress and it’s done.
