The driving part isn’t hard. The only part you need to really practice on is the parallel parking.
I didn’t have to take the written test because i already did it with my permit in the last state i lived in.

I have failed my test first time though I would pass with flying colours but its not as easy as i thought! although my driving instructor says I am a good driver, i just messed up on the day and did something totally stupid! i took a bend in 4th gear and ended up having to do a emergency stop I felt so bad. I felt down for the first day or so but then got over it as you have to! I am in for my driving test again soon and hopefully i will pass 2nd time if not i will be sick but i will just think its not the end of the world and I can go in for it as many times as I want, thats the way you should think because you have to pass eventually! remember a driving examiner cant fail you if you have done everything right within the test.

I agree.. you shouldn’t tip a government employee.. specially them.. I personally hate every employee at the mva and they have easy pencil pushing jobs that dont deserve a tip. besides think of all those times you have sat in line at the mva.. only to have to take another number and sit in line again.. think about it they dont get a tip. Good luck on the test. Remember your seat belt, signals and parking break at the end.

I know for sure that you need a dot approved helmet and boots and a full face shield. I failed my first road test due to not putting down the face shield during my test. I lifted it up to hear the instructions then forgot to close it and they immediatly kicked me off the course and failed me. Also just a tip.. if your motorcycle does not visably say the ccs on it lye it makes it easier for the test.
first time through I told the truth.. told them my motorcycle was a ninja 250 which it was but the test guy at the mva didn’t believe me and thought it was a 600cc but he listened to me and made me take the test for the 250 like I told him it was.
well turns out the test for any cc under 600cc is much tighter turns and less room… I screwed myself. I could have told them ya its a 600cc they wouldnt have known… and I would have had an easier road test and much more stopping room on the quick stop. for a 250cc you must stop in 12 feet or less and anything over 600cc you have 15 feet or less… just something to think about… oh and have no scratches on your face mask either…

i just took my test yesterday here in texas. only a couple of questions were a little tricky because of the wording. look at the pictures, they give you a clues to the answer. one of the answers was obvious because of the picture. if you study the manual, you should be set .

hey i would either go to a truck driving school and get ur cdls there but its going to cost u a good bit are u could alway rent one from somewhere and take it but it will be lots of money and plus u might not be able to get the right kinda trailer u want are something that ur used to and last but not least u could get a job at the dot and let them pay for it all then quit

My road test was yesterday and i failed miserably. I’ve been driving for over 6 months now a lot. I’m 17 and i took drivers ed. Once i pass the road test i can get a full license issued. I was so nervous i can’t describe it! On my way there i was going about 35 down a road and almost flew past a stop sign because i was thinking so much on if im failing or not! When i got there i was waiting over 30 minutes to start and that didn’t help at all. When i started i approached a stop sign where i was told to make a left and i was driving on the wrong side of the fucking road!!! How does that happen???? I was so nervous i convinced myself i was in a left turning lane and i had to stay on my side of lane when i was turning left onto a double yellow line!!! Ofcourse i know the rules of the road.. i’m an extremely cautious driver… But i’m sure the road test instructor thought i was the worst driver in the world….

I did all the ‘hard stuff’ (checking blind spots, remembering signals etc) but i drive on the wrong side of the road?? LOL it sounds so stupid now but i beat myself over it so much..

I re scheduled and im taking it in a different car and im going with my mom because she makes me feel confident enough i believe. She was the one who pretty much taught me how to drive once my permit was issued. I feel a lot more confident and now i know what to do and what to expect next time. You have to go in acting like it’s not the biggest thing in the world.. It’s not a big deal… and try not to be mad when you take it and fail because your just going to hate yourself when you attempt it again going in thinking your just going to fail again..

I recently passed my road test in Washington, NJ. It was a real road course. It only took 10 minutes, and the woman examiner was super friendly and made me a lot less nervous. I’m glad I got my test there now because I heard they are closing in August!

In Ontario to pass the writing test you have to answer 36 questions out of 40 . The first 20 questions are about knowledge( road rules etc .. . ) The second last 20 questions are about signs ( the meaning of them and what they do )

NJ state gives you only 1 chance to pass parallel parking.Even if everything was on excellent level ,but if you fail parallel parking they will fail your road test.Very strict.No mercy from NJ road test examiner.They pay attention to K-turns,too.I failed my first attempt because I was nervous and I forgot that they put 1 extra cone for parallel parking in front(very important).

I failed my road test.I rescheduled it.NJ has more strict rules for road test.I failed parallel parking.I hit the front cone.Everything the other was on passed level.I used my blinkers, stopped in front of stop sign. K-turn was on passing level.They will not let to redo parallel parking, if you fail it.Very strict.I was so nervous that forgot that they put three cones in front.The first cone should show direction.I forgot it and failed.

AWith an ontario G2 liscense you can drive anywhere in ontario including 400 series, its basically the same as a g, however you can not have any alcohol at all and between the hours of 12-5 you can only have 1 passenger under 19 unless its your immediate family or you are accompanied by a fully liscensed driver with atleast 4 years driving experience;
But for driving in the us im not sure. both my sisters do it, and i plan to, so lets hope its legal lol

Actually, you can’t drive on the 400 highways (400, 401, 402, 403, 407, QEW etc) with the G1. You CAN drive on it with the G2, as you MUST have accumulated highway driving time in order to take the g2 Exit. If I’m correct the G2 is just the probationary version of the fully G which allows you do drive after drinking. The G2’s only restrictions are; if you are under the age of 19 you may only have ONE passenger 19 and under from 12am-5am, until you turn 19 OR the first 6 months you have your license. And 2 you must retain a Blood Alcohol Level of ZERO. Otherwise you can drive where ever. It all Depends on state laws if they let you into the USA from Canada with a G2.

Check the drivers book, G2 is the same as G1 except for the alcohol and the limited number of passengers after 12am (only for the first six months). with teh G2 you can drive on any road, highway,etc (even teh 400 series). dont be a tool and post information that will only lower someone’s intelligence by reading it

That’s incorrect. The G2 license is restricted in that you can not drive on 400-series (or is it 401?) divided highways (where there’s a barrier between the two sides) and a few other high-speed roads. (I think there are exceptions, but I forget if a licensed instructor is required, or the same thing required for all G1 driving, which would be someone who’s had a full license for over 5 years)
Perhaps the people informing you, even if they’re official, just aren’t well informed, or the restriction isn’t enforced. (like jay-walking)

This is why I’m curious about the same thing; whether the USA considers a G2 to be insufficient, has more restrictions (sets you back to G1-like status), has equivalent restrictions (high-speed, divided highways), or treats it as a full license.
And keep in mind, even if a cop pulls you over and accepts your G2, it doesn’t mean the law is alright with it. They’re just as prone to temperament and individual personality as anyone else.

i had my test today for 2nd time.I failed 1st ofcourse.But i had my examiner shouting at me for giving signals just 1 min late before test bcoz it was cold outside.She was yelling at me.I knew then she was not giving me lisence then only.All went good. Then i was a bit faster at a turn.But was in control.But she again made a drama of jerks.When i was sitting steady how can she have jerks?She went out and said i dont want to drive with u.She locked car there and walked to office furiously.She insulted me in the office saying “U will kill somebody.I am not driving with u again.GO”Is this a way to tell driver of his mistake?And shout at him from the beginning?I dont have any will to go for the test again.To se her shout at me for no reasom.I was insulted today in front of so many people.It was a bad day and she is the worst person i have ever met.

Go to the DMV website for your state.

When I was studying for my CDL Learner’s Permit, I went to a site called DMVnow (for VA) and I took the practice test over and over again, as well as picked up the CDL Permit manual, which gets you familiar with the questions asked on the comprehensive and air brakes test.

recall the questions from the past 5 tests. Put them into general categories . Learn everything about these general categories. Focus on questions you have gotten wrong in the past…take practice tests. Try to get ones that are made by the same testmaker or company

My friend took the permit test last year and said that online you only get like 50 seconds to answer each question. He also said that if you take the permit test at the DMV, you aren’t timed. I studied the manual and i’ve taken the practice test 7 times, Read the driving book and take it yourself…never listen to what other say because one might find things hard when it is easy for you and there are different versions of the test so just study the materials and if you fail you can always retake it…it’s not the end of your life…How many people before you have already taken the test and pass? So I think it can’t be that hard….

When you have your learner’s permit, you can’t drive on your own. You need a licensed driver to sit next to you and teach you. That’s why it’s called a learner’s permit.

After you complete the driving practice, you take the road test and get your license. If you pass, you can start driving on your own, to school, baton practice, and wherever else you want.

know signs. highway ones , local / state ones. know shapes. know sppeedlimit one. when school kids are present. there is alway one question or many two about drunkdrinking … knolw what is the state drunk .0* 8 ? know how to up hill and down hill park.. relax. compe to ful stops, be sure to signal in advance before you turn. don’t speeed. don’t break any laws.

Ask the person testing you if you can put on some music, when I took mine they let me put on some music, not too loud though. if they let you do that then put on some calm music. Just stay calm, relax and try talking to the person before. Not like have a full on conversation but just introduce yourself and don’t see them as some mean person you don’t know, pretend you’re with your dad and take it easy.

Nervousness is expected by the Instructor’s, they test mainly on how well you overcome that, since driving skills are pretty simple to learn, so that’s what you’ve got to overcome is your nervousness and you can do that by relaxing your mind and not giving in to those distractions. If you know the book, the material and the skills well enough, then you will prevail and pass. If you collapse to your nerves it can escalate into each task and you can fail badly. basically if you just have average intelligence, then it just becomes a battle against nerves. Make it simple and focus and imagine yourself by yourself!

they watch your reaction to other cars ,they also test on reaction time,and how well you judge distance when stopping,as well as how much attention you pay to the road and the amount of times you check in the mirrors for traffic along side of you or behind you,and they also watch to see if your nervous,they,ll observe you how you brake and how well you take off from a dead stop,and they,ll also check when your parking also,the best thing you can do is be as calm as possible when taking the test,the more nervous you get the more likely you will mess up ,just be calm,and remember everything you read in the book and you should do alright,just think of them as an ordinary person,setting beside of you,and you,ll do ok with it,good luck on it i hope you pass it.

My driver’s test was a good 13 years ago, so the experience is kind of fuzzy, but I remember that I took the test right on the DMV grounds (I didn’t have to drive in town or anything). Basically, he was testing whether I would drive the speed limit, and maintain a steady speed, that I could brake smoothly, that I knew how to use the blinkers. The hardest part of the test was the parallel parking, which I still SUCK at to this day, but I somehow passed that part on the test on a fluke.

My advice to you is to practice parallel parking.
General driving advice: You have to be confident and decisive, but NEVER cocky. And if people drive like complete dicks, don’t get angry…don’t make the situation worse by succumbing to road rage. It solves nothing. Your goal is to get where you are going 1) alive, and 2) without making your car insurance sky rocket (your car insurance is going to be high enough as it is considering that you are a young male).

I don’t have a drivers license, I don’t even have a permit. I went to dmv.org and took the practice test (I live in Missouri by the way) and I scored an 84%, is the actual written test anything like the practice one online or in the back of the drivers license book? Also whats the driving part of the test like? Where do you drive? Is is a prepared course or out on city streets? What kind of things do they grade you on during the driving part of the test? I am just so nervous but I really want to pass.

I just had to do the driving test so I dunno about what to say for the written test if there is one. The driving test is basically common things, like turns at stop lights, 3 point turns, reversing, parking, changing lanes, and stop signs. Make sure to look in your mirrors often and look out the side windows when changing lanes. Turn yourself around and look out the back window when reversing. It took me 3 times to pass cause I had a speeding problem, dont ever speed on the test or its like instant failing. By the way, its easier in a small car versus a van or SUV.

you should, it’s not as easy as you think it is, they ask you mutliple-choice questions that tends you lead you in a labyrinth maze, because 3/4 of the questions tends to confuse; they are all the same, and the correct answer only come out as 1/4 the possibility and if there is about i dont know depending on the state you are in maybe 30-50 questions and you need to answer to the limit they give u in order to pass so therefore i would suggest you take a pre-test, there should be some given out at the center which you will be taking the test,

If you mean a permit to DRIVE (a car, truck, motorcycle, etc)…every state’s tests are different. Go to your state’s Dept. of Motor Vehicles web site and see if they offer a practice test on-line. They probably don’t though since the tests are constantly changed to prevent cheating.
Most states want you to know the answers to ANY question they might ask you.
