I strongly believe that the Jewish holocaust was extremely horrible but there is so much more than the Jewish holocaust I am taking a class called history vs. Holocaust it is been said that the victims of the Holocaust prefer it to be called Shoah the term holocaust means willing participant in easy words anyhow shoah is the more accurate term for what happened to these people but there is alot more than the Jewish holocaust the genocides of life is how i see it the Native Americans were victims too the sand creek massacre not to mention the Wounded knee battle i don’t consider that an accident like some proclaim it to be im not saying that everybody was victims alot werent in fact we all have been at one point or another im only 16 so i dont know first hand how all things in history went down but i know how i feel about them i feel like alot of things americans and others have done are unbelievably disturbing and shame ful

Interesting that the original charges were dropped.Those are the charges that prompted this entire investigation in the first place. All charges were dropped on the immmigration violation cases. The government then went after Rubashin on a law that was from 1921. packers law. Because he was late on a few payments. They were digging the bottom of the barrel on this one. I guarantee this verdict will be overthrown in court and a new trial will reveal that Rubashkin was unfairly targeted, convicted and sentenced. I guarantee that within 3-5 years Rubashkin will be a free man and will have received his second trial.

Jews have a long tradition of identification with the oppressed–in part because for most of our history we’ve been one of the most oppressed groups. The Torah commands us to “love the stranger” and it is an absolute command–not based on whether or not we approve of the stranger, and also to champion the powerless and the poor. The Obama Administration is doing a poor job of championing those values, but the Republican party rejects them entirely. Its fight against universal health care, restrictions on carbon emissions to protect our Earth (which the Torah commands us to protect), and its championing of the interests of the wealthy at the expense of the poor have nothing to do with Torah values. That is why the majority of Jews will continue to reject the Republican Party and to support a just settlement of the Israel/Palestine conflict that provides security and justice for both sides. And that is why they will continue to be attracted to the vision of tikkun olam articulated in the pages of Tikkun magazine http://www.tikkun.org–because no matter how well off Jews become we will continue to remember that it was we who were once the powerless and demeaned “other” (the ger–in Hebrew) and we will never abandon our Torah mission to care for powerless, the poor, and the weak, and to champion justice and peace despite the Republican (and Democratic) war-makers and those who serve the wealthy.
