Johnny Cash – American VI: Ain’t No Grave – The third biggest selling disc in the U.S. this past week . Yes this album is beng played all over the place.I’m NOT a fan of Johnny Cash but if I was I’d be rather embarrassed once again by the quality of these recordings with a genuine disservice to his memory and legacy when he was so highly respected in country music. Do these home recordings by every aging artist need to be released? To my ears vocally he is years past his sell by date and a shadow of Folsom Prison days. This album is like hearing a fading musical talent in his last days – Emotional for Cash fans for but for me depressing.

Sarah Buxton – Really rate her songwriting but wasn’t blown away by this new track. Lionel Richie – Surpised to hear about him a Country show! His ex wife milked him dry – bizarre!
Fantastic prize up for grabs this month – 7 albums!

Easton Corbin – This new song ‘A Little More Country Than That’ is very popular. Not really my bag but I’m sure it will be a CMA Nomination this year.

Having seen the lady perform solo, I agree with everything you’ve written. She has had so many of her songs recorded that the list prints out about 5 pages.

I would mention that the incomparable Suzy Bogguss, also a singer songwriter (and excellent guitar player) will be playing eight dates in the UK that last week of May & first week of June 2010. Her tour sechedule is available at http://www.bogguss.com & http://www.suzybogguss.com. If you are within driving distance of any of the venues, treat yourself and go see her!

It’s great once a year to turn out some of the great Christmas songs on offer and I have to confess it really does give me that’Christmas Tingle’. Glad you enjoyed it.
