Visually it appears to be identical to the knick neck bass of a certain Japanese manufacturer whose name starts with Y. It is in matt black plastic rather than the black and white of the Y*. Quality wise it is very good. Unfortunately, one day just before going on for a concert, one of the springs under the keys broke and I have had to replace it. This is however the same fault on the Y* bass recorders as well, this is described at Saunders Recorders http://www.saundrecs.co.uk/ybaskey.htm, so I don't hold that against it.
