Hey Walt!

Great story about your latest exploits on the snow! Next you'll have to combine your two passions and take on -- ICE BOATING!! (think sailboats on skates!) It's a thrill a minute.

I look forward to seeing you in a USA para-Olympic uniform tearing up the tracks. When we were at Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics I was thinking perhaps you could teach a lesson or two in commitment to the finish.

Let's grab dinner soon.

Cheers,

Gord

Allison:

Sounds like quite an adventrue around Echo Lake. Nothing like having to feel your way around the tracks to focus on technique.

I will be back in Tahoe in a weeek and a half to start training for the Great Ski Race, with you as my guide. You will love the communication head sets I have. Very clear, no matter how far away you get.

Cheers.

Hey Walt, it's Allison from Tahoe XC. I've been wondering about how the event at Soldier Hollow has been going for you. I'm so happy to read all about it. We spent the last three days skiing around in Desolation Wilderness. On the way out last night, exhausted and hungry, we skied across the edge of the Echo Lakes in the dark. There were a few times where I found myself at the tail of the group, following the broken ski track, with my eyes closed, feeling my way through the freshly packed-down snow. I imagined you skiing there and how the track would feel for you. I think you would enjoy it.
It's been really great to have you around the nordic center this year, training and shoveling snow onto the trails. You are an inspiration to me. Thank you for being so cool.

Congratulation, Walt, great result, great story.
We briefly met in the tracks at Tahoe XC when I nearly took you out. I still feel bad about that but it gave me an opportunity to meet you and you told me about this competition. Good luck for the GREAT RACE, if at all possible I will be on the course somewhere to cheer you on.
Ciao, Helga
