I might try this sometime but it seems like it would be real easy to scorch the soap or have it "bubble" up and overflow the container all pver the microwave. Of all the dumb microwave stunts performed on youtube, putting a bar od soap in there an watching turn into a mutant monster is not uncommon.

Also, I add the liquid I use to the soap just to wet it and let the soap sit overnight to absorb and be softened by the liquid. I should mention I heat my liquid concoction in the microwave to about 175 Fahrenheit so it partially melts the grated soap on addition and penetrates it better for its soaking. I have used 8 ounces of fluid for 3 pounds of soap. It is just enough.

That sounds like so much fun! What a great idea! Too bad I'm so far away. It would be great to stop by your booth and watch people making their own soaps.

I can't wait to meet you at the HSMG conference. Have a good day!
