John,
I'm sorry about that. Add the sausage immediately after you add the green peas. If you prefer hotdogs rather than sausge do so, just make sure you use beef franks instead of pork.
Cheers,
Robert Colinares

In lieu of buying soy sauce and calamansi, you can buy Toyomansi by mother's best. tastes just as great with 1 less ingredient to buy!

Good recipe..never seen peas and carrots in dishes in PI. Usually see the egg as quail eggs sliced and the peas and carots exchanged for nothing or a diced pepper.

Thank you for this version of my favorite dish. Last year at my engagement party the dish was made and it was similiar but different. The actual pork is just "sausage" so it can be pork belly/ground fatback/etc. The main difference in the dish here and the one made form my Bicol family was the consistancy of the sauce. Mine had a lot of sauce trapped in the meat (due to it being ground) ad less flowing over the rice or whatever you served it over. Just a difference in cooking. Also the mellon used in the dish I was served was pureed so as to be one and the same as the coconut milk. I did try your dish and it is very sarap.

Just found this site today. Most of the recipe has MSG on it, is there anything you can use besides MSG? Thanks, love the website. I'm trying a couple of your recipe this weekend. By the way, do you have a recipe for empanada's?

yes there's a special recipe for fried siopao.. just keep on searching.. in philippines its fried siopao, but in other country they have other name for that.. it took a lot of searching before i found the recipe for fried siopao..Napasigaw talaga ako sa tuwa ng makita ko yung recipe..since then i always cook that special siopao...here are tips:
1. the name is not fried siopao kaya nahihirapan kayong magsearch.. kapag nalaman nyo na yung real name nito Wow tuloy tuloy na.. kabikabila ang recipe sa internet...
2. they use less sugar for the dough
3. the recipe dont use lard or shortening.. thats why its so cheap compare to other siopao in philippines...
But thats not the main secret!!! the secret is how they cook the siopao... you'll be surprise.. Good luck everyone..
