Z! Awesome post. I actually had this app at a local bar in SD (Quality Social in the Gaslamp). They are amazing. Yours look better than the ones I had. I also appreciate the retro photos, but I wouldn't categorize you as a hipster. You gotta give yourself more credit... everyone gets a little caught up in the latest trends. In the 90s it was grunge and in the 80s it was neon. Who knows what the 2020s will bring. Hopefully, we will still be eating great food as pictured on this blog.

Yes, I'm doing well - my husband and I have been living in the San Diego area since January and just bought and moved into our first house a few months ago. It's all been very exciting. Thanks for the brief synopsis. I'll check back again soon for more recipes - I love a good soup during fall.

Cheers.

Thanks for the kind words Melissa! Yes, the antique stove was quite the bonus to our apartment. We have used it quite a bit.

Oh, and luckily, after seeing this post, my sister was kind enough to send me an immersion blender as a housewarming gift. Though I've yet to use it, I'm sure it will come in handy when I start making butternut squash soup. I think I might try pumpkin soup this year too.

Game of Thrones was quite good, though rather long (and it's not done yet). George R.R. Martin did a damn good job at world building and is surprisingly skilled at making things like dragons and the undead seem less fantastic/unbelievable than they would in a lesser book. It's ultimately a book series about politics and the nearly infinite variables that govern who is in power.

Hope you are doing well too!

Z, I just took a look at your blog for the very first time and must say I enjoyed all of it and am very jealous of your antique stove. The tomato soup recipe sounds both delicious and delightful. Immersion blenders really are the best. Hope you are doing well and wishing you the best in your future adventures - culinary and otherwise. Oh, and is Game of Thrones any good?

I was/am reading Game of Thrones. And, to be fair, it's my girlfriend's Kindle which I got her for her birthday but which she has been gracious enough to loan to me quite often.

Great blog as always Z. Those tomatoes and rosemary looked perfect. Gratuitous cheese oozing was a nice touch. By the way, what are you reading on your Kindle?
