It may help some readers to know that since the posting of this article, I have not received new spam and much of the spam I used to get regularly has stopped. Of course, as Samer said, if you don’t feel comfy with any particular service or tool or program, simply don’t use it. We are in the way of providing information and options to our dear readers and it is always up to them to exercise their own judgment about using anything or not. All we can do is try to provide accurate information that is as thorough as reasonably possible and leave the rest to you guys. Thanks for the comments and for reading, guys!

@ pd: no, we do not expect you to do anything of the sort. What we try to do is test tools that are out there that could be helpful or useful. There are literally hundreds of tools that will want to access your gmail account, and this is one of them.

If you think that the cost/benefit is not worth it to you, by all means don’t do it. But chances are that we will test and review another tool tomorrow that will ask for the same thing. You decide what you want to do.

Gave it a quick run. Nice and simple BUT I can’t add physical DVD movie titles to the catalog. Think this program only works for movies on one’s hard disk, am I right?

Is there a way for Kindle Previewer to preview pdfs? Sometimes they don’t come through right and it would be good to be able to check them on the pc rather than dig around for my Kindle each time.

Finally stopped worrying about the license shenanigans and have given this a try. Nice interface, pleasant to look at, but for me it’s a non-starter because it doesn’t give me double-sided printing. I can get multi-page printing from most of the Word-like apps anyway, and many of the printer drivers themselves, but double-sided and selective print were always my reasons for using Fineprint. iPrint does the selective print but not double sided (at least not in the version I had downloaded – v6.1). Since my printer doesn’t do automatic duplex, that’s immediately up to a 50% paper wastage unless I buy a new printer (bizarrely enough, buying Fineprint is actually about as much as buying a new printer although probably not one with auto-duplex!). The search goes on.

Am I really reading this correctly? You expect me to give my email credentials and therefore my Google account credentials to a third party, let it read all my mail and hope like hell that I don’t actually end up – as is most likely – with *more* spam?

Customization features, ease of use, very reasonable pricing are the most important factors to me. Furthermore, I run a small business and cannot afford expensive remote desktop tools remote desktop tools. But at the same time, I can’t use free product because they have a mass of limitations (in functions at time period) and free product doesn’t look reliable and safe for my clients. The best remote desktop software that corresponds to my requests is Techinline remote desktop.

@ Tuck: I opted for Dual Monitor Taskbar instead of MultiMonitor taskbar, because the latter didn’t seem to play well with the Windows 7 aero style and it just didn’t look so good.

@ idawari: thanks for the great suggestions (Winsplit Revolution and John’s background switcher are terrific apps, dual monitors or no dual monitors)

@ Wim de Lange: thanks for the tip re: Wallpaper Slideshow LT (http://bit.ly/LuFnkM) I haven’t tried, but am sure it has stiff competition in the form of John’s Background Switcher.

@ David: thanks for sharing. Always like to browse wallpaper sites!

@ Bigtroutz: we quite liked the default images, but regardless you could search for and download more.

@ Simon: Actual Multiple Monitor was on the list, as was Display fusion. We opted not to list them in the end because they are very well known and also because of the way all the paid-only features are kept visible and greyed out at all times, which was annoying. Anyway aside from the buttons on the window taskbar, all the functionality these two provide in the free version, I think, is provided in the tools above.

First thank you for this post… !! The letters dosen’t appear magically on the screen.. someone has to write them down.. and that not only takes time, but also energy and willing. (Not to mention the research to provide the accurate review) so big thanks for that.

As for the program, one of nicest piece of software I’ve been used in the last years !! I’ve tested winrar, winzip side by side with this one.. and by far I choose this one !!

Give it a try.. you’ll never regret it
