Interesting theory about the 4th Crusade, I would have to agree with that. The Columbus story as it stands officially is a complete sham.
I would question the orientalisation of the Western Roman Empire to a certain extent.

I wouldn’t entirely agree with that the Eastern Roman Empire was purely defensive. The campaigns against the Bulgars as an example. I would also point out that Alexius I Comnenus was very interested in regaining lost lands when he appealed to the west for help, thus instigating the crusades.

I would suspect the real ones as forgeries, there is a rumor that fort knox is gold plated tungsten.
